@dkathuria i dont know exactly what an assnt manager's job is,it would mainly depend on which dept you are working with, there are many types like retail,corporate,IT wagera wagera....preliminary level pe jo kaam hoga wahi dekhna padega,mainly paper work n sales part as told by icici in order to increase business,google it naa,thr are lotss of things actually
@all if u have ny oder option den dnt join icici bank po programme but if u dnt hve ny den go for it.........actually one of my freind called me few days back,he is studying dere in ima,he told me now dey r changing evrything before us it was ok but now dere is smthing going on dere,in ima mba is of no value.........wat he meant to say is dnt join it u will repent aftrwards.....dere were many things he was saying but i didnt get dat fully also he was mentioning bot dis 5 yrs bond dat aftr wrking dere fr 5 years u will nt have dat bright future as we people r expecting.......so its up to us wat we want.........dnt be obsessed wid nything related to icici coz u never know aftr 5 years where we can be,5 years is too much...........i just suggested dnt take it odrwise frnds at last its up to u..... :)

@rimas c it depends wat u r persuing at present.....wy m telling u all dese coz d guy who had called me frm ima happn to be one of my best frnd......he is a stong guy but he really seem to be frustratd to me......he was saying ki muh pe bolte hai ye mat sochna ki posting ke baad office ki shakl bhi dekhne ko milegi..........pehle 3 4 saal to jam ke lenge......survive karna mushkil ho jata hai yaar......yes sme of us mit get to sme extent bettr job profile but dat also dos nt mattr yaar i hve met wid 2 3 guys who worked in dis bank n left aftr 3 yrs n joined sme psu bank again so dy have strtd dere career again aftr 3 yrs so its bettr if we labour hard fr initaial 1 year or so n get a gud job,in dis case we will have one more option of switching over if we get a good oppurtunity n it is certain dat u will be at sme gud place aftr 5 yrs bettr den icici bank po............i came to know no oder bank is tking employees who has worked in icici bank at higher post........

@abhijeet2803 bt other private banks are opting the same method whether it is axis or hdfc or kotak mahindra...regarding the work dear i wanna tell u one thing if u works in private firm they gonna crush u they dont want to hear how/why they just only want their work completed.
@rimas exactly dis wat m saying if u know private firms take deir work in dis way den wy u r bnding ur self in a bond of 5 years....dont u thik if u join sme oder company u wud be able to move if u get good oppurtunity n at a very good package but her u will have to spend ur precious 5 years....are yaar i know people who r still working in icici bank n continously appering fr psu exams....but in dis case dy will have to pay a heavy amount if dey leave d copany.....c atlast i wud say its up to u if u think u dnt or wont have ny odr option except dis icici bank den go for it its a good option in dat case........i have worked in marketing departmnt fr one of d big 5 star hotels.......i was in hyd so i hve seen wat growth one can have in 5 years coz i used to meet people frm evry industry as it was my work......now m doing mba so lets c wats dere in future but aftr hearing it frm my frnd i wantd it to share wid u people so i just shared d information no offence please.....now u people think wats gud n wats bad......c if u dnt want to be agreed on smthing den u will have ample of reasns fr dat but if u really want to c d truth u will have to have ur senses working........ if a person who is working here nt happy wid the job den wat else i n u can say........

i m also mechanical engineer working in an mnc (atlas copco india pvt ltd) with pck. of 3.2 from last 8 month.i hv to work there on 2 sunday /month .they changes ur shift too without askin...................and u cannt complaint anybody if u leave hundreds of other is ready to work there even at lower salary what they offer.its nt the fact about the company m working GM,TCS,INFOSYS,ACCENTURE etc follow same path.there HRs directly tell on mouth if wannna work here ,work according to us what profile we give u............nt what u r opting.....many people wating outside the door for same oppurtunitydear i only want a job which can be done in office hour 9-6 atleast one holiday every week thats what i want why m opting for this.

n in private sector everywhere u will have d same work pressure i totally agrree but had nt dere been 5 years bond it wud have been more den good but going with 5 year bond sounds a bit tough to me n especially wen most part of it is sales............sme people will like it n some wont........n belive me evry 1 wants to get settled dats wy we all r gathering informationso dat we shud nt end up in spoiling our career just for d name sake n salary which will be around 20 to 25 k

4>for completing mba u must need 2 year nd for getting in good college u made hv 1 year tm for prepration means total 3 year upto thn u already hv 2 year working exp.
5>most important thing chosing icici bank is working environment which u could also notice if u compare with psu lyk sbi pnb ubi if u visit both places regularly
6>with mba in banking and finance, knowledge of sales and marketing(as told in previous post about the role of po in icici)and 5 year experience in icici bank. dont know about other banks bt u will defnetly gonna placed at some huge mnc with best payscales......if u have courage nd ambition for going beyond.......
curruntly also icici is offering one of the best payscale for po in banking of 26600 in hand,after 12month training ..that u can confirm anywhere
though the starting salary is good as compared to other companies but wat is the increment for this and wat is the career growth in icici can any tell....
i am selected for May batch but i am not joining.. I research very well about the program and ultimately came to final conclusion that this is d time for me to build up my career and not to bound with a bank for which we are not sure of what profile we are getting that too for 5 years.. Take decision very carefully..
@sahilkakwani but tell us wat made ur mind change it is only the 5 years bond or any other thing that bothered u? if u feel lyk telling us plzz do..
@dkathuria : i am ready to work for 5 years if icici confirm me dat i won't get sales profile. I had a talk with a person who is currently in internship and he clearly told don't come here. Proflies are allotted on the basis of luck and not on the basis of performance. Plus we will not be able to change our profile. He also said toppers of our batch got sales profile.
I cannot depend on my luck and expect a good profile. So, better look out for other options. Rest your call
