Yes same is the case with me............. i am completing my 3yrs on 1st march...!! have u guys got any communication from icici after submitting the application form.....

guys we dont get any sort of confirmation after submitting the form. After a week of the last date of application, they will inform you by mail/sms whether your application has been shortlisted or rejected.
@sumitbsg1: I think the work experience review will be done at a later stage...
Guys can you tell me if there is something like people who apply within 7 days only get short listed. I applied on NOV 14 th

hi

nothing is like that rajath. They will shortlist from all the applications once the last date of application passes. You will come to know after one or two week of the last date. And work ex review is done while screening your application. Last time my application got rejected because i was falling short of 3 years.

@gaurav.infy Hi but if the 3 year criteria is satisfied will they short list??? I guess yes.. wats your take?? (i have 3+ years experience)

Right now I am not preparing. Had prepared one year back for GMAT. So wondering if I should start preparing or do I wait till the shortlisting is done. Whats your take guys?? Also please suggest if there are any other good programs like this!!

Thanks
Rajath

my take on this is.... since you have prepared for GMAT the test wont be a hurdle for you... you should apply for sure if you are keenly interested in banking and finance and would like to stick to it for the long run... apply and wait till they shortlist you and then appear for the process... but the only thing which has to be considered is whether you are seriously looking for a career in banking or not... dats the most important thing...

And you were asking about other programs. There is a program by crisil also which has a tie up with NITIE. Dat one is also a gud program if you are interested in market research kind of profile. Also you will end up taking your degree/diploma (not sure) from NITIE. Dats a plus point of that course. And i hope you are aware of CRISIL's reputation in the financial industry. But as i said earlier its totally upto you what you want to do and where do you see yourself doing better. Dont go on initial figures as MBA is for life.... cheers....

@gaurav: thanks much for the reply... yes first i want to take up the exams then later think about 'ifs' and 'buts'. Yes I have a inclinations towards this industry :). Wanted to ask if any one of you have an idea how we are filtered? cz in previous posts i read a few experienced candidates too getting rejected!

i have totaly cut off from studies in last 3 yrs....i hav to start once again from the scratch,,,,, any tips to start my preparations..

Nothing can be predicted on that part. Its totally their take. I heard that they rejected a 4.5 years exp guy. I think they are looking for a healthy batch where there are people from different domains and industries. All you could do rite now is to fill up the form and just wait for the email.

Hiiii Puys,

I want to know the scope of mechanical engineers . what are the profile they provide for them apart from finance/banking.

If some one is having experience in SCM/OPERATION then is it good to go with this programme or not.Plz suggest.

Hi

See this programme has nothing to do with Mechanical Engg. Its a hard core banking and finance courses with profiles in IT, Risk Management and Capital Markets. And it is a very very focussed and specialised programme. If you are not interested in details of banking and finance i dont think this is a good option for you. Since there is a 3 year bond.

gaurav

i think gaurav is giving really good replys.. 1st guys u have to make sure u like this domain!! 😃 but no harm in trying!!

hi rajath

thanks. But i am doing what is expected to do on PG. its the legacy of PG which i am continuing.

Yes rajath you are absolutely rite. There is no harm in trying but you need to be sure that finance interests you or not because what happens is once you get through your mind will just look upon that whooping CTC figure which shouldnt be the case. :nono:

Dont just go on figures of the CTC they are offering. Its a kind of illusion which drives us towards this course. And they have to offer a lucrative offer to attract people. Its very obvious. And dont have a myopic vision on your career. Its about your career. Your whole career.

A person who understands dynamics of banking and is interested in it avidly, he/she can definitely get benefited with this programme. On the other hand any one who is not interested in finance can lose his career path by opting this programme as you will end up 2 years studying of something which doesnt interests you and for minimum 3 years you have to be in a job which is not appealing to you. And then shifting again to something of your interest would be nut cracking.

Take it as a exec MBA which is always opted by people who knows the dynamics of that domain and are deeply interested in that. They know how to lead their career after this. They have given enough thought and then they opt for it. Its just like that. Its not a general mba programme.

So guys remember the mantra from "3 idiots". Success will come to you when you will end up doing what interests you. It can take time but you are surely gonna love that. cheers

PS : my personal views and insight which i have gained reading avidly from reading the posts on PG from last one and half years continously...

gaurav

@gaurav: Totally agree... we shud go ahead only if we are sure if this is what we want 😃 but again... lets take the whole system in purview.. are people doing what they want? Say some one likes to code or some one likes to Sell. In a practical scenario (most of the times !) their likes would not manifest itself in its entirity! They would have potrayed a beautiful picture about their dream job.. and I am sure there are many in this category! 3 idiots is an example where he is sure he likes machines... but how many are?? so the thing is guys people who are not sure will have to start all over to assess their strenghts/weaknesses and then hop on to their "dream" job.. and at the same time be realistic about this whole stuff. Also we have to try and be a 'generalist' i.e, be open to new things and ideas! 😃 anyway.. this is my take...

hi rajath

ya you are rite. practically not everyone is in a job which is of interest to him/her and its never possible. and you said a very rite thing that one should assess and introspect himself of all the things. Only point i was highlighting is the risk associated with the programme.

gaurav
