Even I was asked about this
which specialization would u like to go for and are u ready to relocate anywhere post MBA?
Also I was asked about job-area after MBA which I told them "banking" .
Then questions were asked on why banking and about my opinion of ICICI.
Also I would like to know if there would be different selection process for Oct batch or whether it will be decided now at the time of results?
How many would be selected for this yr's batch .. 120 or 240?
Right now they were looking for 120.
I got this info during my intw and they were yet to plan whether to keep this 120 batch separate in the univ or form a class with other MBA studs who might join. They didn't have any clear answer to this.
Im presuming apti + gd + pi would have weightages and correspondingly whoever ends up with high cumulative score will get through.
PI might not be the only thing seperating candidates at the last level. This is totally my assumption and icici could radically have different thoughts abt choosing 120 from all candidated intwd.
Thanks & Regards
Vijay
even I too think that It would make better sense, if they take the cumulative scores....
rest fingers crossed...
Yeah.I cleared my GD and PI tk arnd 15 mins. They were asking about my work profile. But also admitted am new to this industry and I know only the basics.Having my fingers crossed.
But cud see lotta ICICI bank employees getting selected in GD compared to ppl 4m other sectors.Dono if dey gonna give priority 2 dem.
I was also asked. Didn't know what to say. Hence, goofed up on this.
I have an analysis regarding the number of people selected at various stages, let me know if this is correct or not.
Out of all the applicants (I don't know what was that number) there were 120-130 people selected for GD round in each location. There were 9 locations in total where GD was held, this was confirmed by the GD coordinator, at Mumbai. Out of these 1100 (approximating 120*9) people who had their GD, half were selected for PI round. So that makes 550 (again, approx) candidates interviewed. Considering the persons with insufficient experience (few ICICI employees were above 30 years, while few came with 2.5 years of experience) they'll have 500 candidates out of which they'll call 150 (120 plus 30 at least as the waiting list).
Comments awaited.

In delhi, on Day 1 appox 140-150 people appeared for GD, on Day two appox 130 people appeared. Considering that they selected 5/10 in GD so that make roughly 120-140 people appearing in GD.
My sense of analysis says....
There were total of around 5000 -6000 people in BMAT they selected 50% say 2500-3000 out of them for nxt round. ( two days at each location and roughly 150 each day, 9 locations 2X150X900 )
out of them again 50% shortlisted in GD
so roughly they are having 1:10 at the time of PI.....
Disclaimer :- No concrete information just guessing
@ Gubbaara & Srd.rdx : Good analysis.....
At bhubaneswar centre..finally 16 candidates were selected for PI out of these around 12 were from ICICI bank.I was alone from manufacturing industry...Lets hope for the best.
Hey puys, I have a serious concern. My GD was excellent, as I placed firm and unique points, so it was more than what I could ever expect. Now talking of the PI, there were a few goof ups that I did and things that I am worried about.
1. In the interview, I didn't know there were any specialization in the MBA program, so I said that my friends said that the first year will be generic, and we'll have to choose the specialization after that. So, I'll be in a position to decide at that time. Dunno if that was a correct answer.
2. I could not properly (as per my expectations) answer, "What are you expecting out of the program.
3. They was an uncanny skeptic attitude of the panel for the fact that I am a technical guy appearing for this interview. Then one gentleman asked the future of Microsoft and Nokia's joint venture and the competition posed by Android. I answered with all my might, as it was one thing of my keen interests. Whatever, not answering that would have been bad than answering it. But still, I'm worried if they consider me a way too techie guy for the role of a Manager.
4. So, the interview was 15-20 minutes long. And my performance was little below what I could have done.
5. Hence even if the GD/BMAT results have 25% role in deciding my fate, I'm through. Else gubbaara will stay deflated.
Anyone who can survive reading all this blabber till 5th point and confirming if the GD/BMAT performance will be considered now or not?
As Per some of the previous post It is damn sure that result is not coming tommorrow ................... But they should atleast intimate us when the result will come ................. As i observed at my GD PI center most of the person were from the icici bank only............ Lets c what is going to happen .............. sleepless of sleep full night
Guys- i spoke to a senior HR guy during my PI. He mentioned that the GD and PI is happening across 17 locations PAN India. Not sure where the 9 figure is coming from. Additionally in each of these locations they have around 2 days of GD/PI rounds. So that makes a total of around 17*2*140 people in the GD stage. Off this only approx 20- 25% got selected for PI is my guess. So i feel even in the final stage the competition remains pretty tough....
ur thoughts invited...
If we all mention the place of our GD-PI we can come across the no. of PI center.
Guys, I had my GD/PI on 15th Feb in Chennai. There were around 100 candidates in total for that day. PI was kinda okay where the panelists were focused on knowing why I had come for this programme and as I am from pure technical background(IT), I was asked why I am now making a radical career shift when I am going good technically.
And, there was one question abt what my current compensation is and when I answered, I was asked whether I deserve more. When I answered in affirmative, I had to explain why I feel so.
I think I had convinced them well but not sure how this would turn out as it looks like they will have their own strategy for picking the candidates and also, I am assuming they may look for the right mix of the candidates for the programme.
guys any body taking interview on 16 r 17 . any idea???
Yeah even i had GD/PI on feb 15th in chennai. But prasanna did u notice arnd 60% who cleared GD where from icici bank.even in my GD batch who got selected i was the only one from IT background, rest all icici employees and my PI was ok.Dono if they will consider ppl like us.
I had my GD PI at Pune there were only 22 people who have cleared the BMAT and came for gdpi But at the same time there were around 100 people (mostly from icici) have came to give BMAt ...............
Today i called HR they are telling result will come on last week of this month Did anyone else called them
guys I had my GD PI on 15th...
GD was easy but PI was kinda tough was grilled on many points since I am a techie.
Started questoining me on Volcker rule,securitization,IPO...etc Answered all but the tough bit was to analyse a balance sheet ...simply freaked out.(yaar techie hu)
The panel didnt seem convinced as to why I was making the shift and wanted me to justify the career shift.

PI was worst in my case....multiple times i said...i am interested in Finance and closely tracing Stock Market from the last 4 years...atleast 3-4 times I told them this word STOCK MARKET....
but still NO questions from Stock Market!!!
What I felt that they were not from ICICI Bank but from NIIT University and they were not knowing anything from Stock Market thats why I was not asked any question :shocked::shocked::shocked:
kvijaybabu Says:) if they were profs be rest assured they know everything. My panel knew about steel plant "captive power generation". It took sometime for me to re-collect. :D
In that case, yours one must have been from that background 😁
since even telling very clearly that its my keen interest, if still they wont ask me any question what else I can assume.
Infact, I believe is that in interview if u start speaking up they will start asking you more and more questions on the content u speak !!
Anyways...no regrets ....
Good Luck to all
Fingers crossed!
Anyone have called and asked , when the Result will come ...........
