Hey jyoti

dats not the end of the world. And there is always a next time. Also there are many other options, why are you looking at only one of them and getting sad. there are so many. life's not about this programme, or mba or such things. its much beyond that. and dats wat PG is all about. Aim high, dream higher. And one day you will be there. :)

No single programme can drive your life. hope it makes sense.

Hi Guyz

Theja here.It took me a week long to come to this thread as I was reading all the threads of our previous batches.Coming to my profile

10th-87%
12th-94%
B.E (Chemical)-88.8%
Gmat 2009-630

Am working in reliance,Oil & Gas Sector for the past 3 yrs and worked in essar Oil Ltd for an year and half.So I bear an experience of 4 yrs and 8 months till date.

I was totally confused after looking at the guyz admitting themselves to suicide by looking at 15 lacs of ctc.It merely depends on ur interest.Only if u are sure that u r going to acept ur career in a banking sector u have to think about it.Coming to myself my dad is a Bank Manager in Andhra Bank and looking into him and as of my interest in the Business scenarios am looking forward for this course. Hope I l get some feed back soon and its better dat we l start discussing about the test and the Gd in combined bcoz from the previous threads it is mentioned dat once u clear ur written u wont be having much time left for preparation. So puys go ahead

Hi Raavan

Wat could be the role of the people in the Industrial sector. In the notification it is clearly mentioned that people from petrochemical/oil 7 Gas/It's are eligible rather mentioning that all Degree holders with more than 3 yrs of work ex are eligible. Is ICICI forthseeing it into some industrial sector and are they looking for some graduates who has some past experiences in Industries or Is it just casual???

Hi

I think that they want to engage a batch with people from varied backgrounds. dats it. But at the end of day you will end up in banking only with the profiles they mentioned on their website.

gaurav

Hi I have 3 years 5 months of exp. in Oil & Gas sector as Manager in Reliance Industries Ltd.
I am Civil Engg. pass out from NIT bhopal 2008 batch.
Marks obtained
10-81.2
12-72
Engg.-7.14/10

Iam preparing for MBA from good institutes. This leadership program looks good to me except that NIIT university. But good thing is that I can switch to Finance & banking sector if I get selected. Money involved is no doubt good.
What do u think of my profile. Is it good enough for getting a call?
Plz also put forward your views weather a MBA from good institute like NMIMS, SP Jain will be same as MBA from NIIT university after we gain 3 years exp from ICICI bank in Manager Band-II level.

Hi Ajay

There are several factors mate when you consider an mba. Most important of them is college. Many would agree or disagree to it but it remains a fact. A college gives you an environment and strong alumni network which helps you foster your skills. And thats what makes a good instiute 'good'.

Money involve is good undoubtedly but the only difference between this and other good institutes you are talking about is they are all established institutes having a good name in market. People know about them and this college is pretty new. Faculty and pedagogy also matters. These institutes have a proven track record on all front whether NIIT dont have that. So overall what i would suggest to you is that if you get through NMIMS, SPJAIN, IMT, MDI or any other top 10-15 insti's. give it a thot seriously. In long run this is definitely gonna help.

Hi Theja,

I belong to the first batch, and would say that you have an excellent profile. What I feel is that u wont have a problem qualifying for the written exam (u will feel its easier than the CAT), and everything depends on how u perform with your essays,gd and pi.Panel at pi would include very senior people from the bank.

About the value add from the course,M2 is a position of responsibility in the bank, almost a free education,no future hassle of paying hefty emi's on your edu loan later, opening to the banking sector, and frankly u wont get the country's best faculty, but some of them have prior experience of teaching at ISB,Fore,MDI,IIFT, infact the course design is prepared by an eminent faculty from mdi. Niit Uni is coming up,it has decent infrastructure also.Future looks good.

About our batch profile we have ppl from ISM,IIT,Bit-Pilani,NITs,Manipal with average 5 yrs of work exp. Mostly engineers (Mech,Mining,Marine,Chem,Com,Biotec,IT) and also Maths and Stats Grads. Companies range from Infy,TCS,Bofa,ILFS,GAIL,Halliburton,Essar,SBI,ISRO,ABB etc and some 16 ppl from ICICI itself.Dont be surprised to find ppl doing their 2 nd MBA.

So thats a small glimpse about ICICI BLP.....Its good..good ROI....one thing currently missing is the Brand Name.

Cheers,
Dutta

Hi Dutta.
grt to see ur in depth analysis and these would be beneficial fr everyone...jst wanted to clarify hw is ur course structure...i mean 6 months of classes in NIIT campus and thn where is the internship??? also is there family accomodation avalaible, becaz some of ur classmates muts be married.

@ Ayush,

As Dutta has given answers of many questions in one quote 😃
You rightly said that many of our classmates are married, but family accommodation is nt available.
Internship will be provided at main metro cities only and if possible ICICI ppl keep in mind ur family status while providing internship locations.
Thanks
Raavan

Thanks to raavan and dutta for providing such good information.

gaurav

Hi,
Since in ad i have seen last date is 5th jan. so thr is still chance of applying here. earlier i thought i have lost it when i saw date as 1st jan..

My profile is:
10th (UP board) :72.00 %
12th (Up Board) :73.60 %. actually ealier there was a trend tht it was v difficult to get marks in HIndi medium UP BOard.. and 70+ was considred v good one. but unfortunately at national level thy dont consider this fact :(

Btech (HBTI kanpur_UPtech university : 72.16 % )

Work ex : IT- Wipro : 32 monts as of now

Can i apply for this course?

I knew its v gud from ROI point of view... PLs guide

@Jyoti Thakur: ur board marks won't be a problem, but as u can refer from the earlier posts, ur work exp is less than the desired min(36 months)....so tht would be crucial. My advice would be to apply in the Nov intake as you would hv the required exp by then....If you will go thru the earlier posts you will find tht of all the puys with less thn 36 months exp most of thm were rejected in the 1st stage only, and those who ere called by mistake were rejected by the HR during later stages,.... so better apply in the next cycle if you are so impressed by the course
