why every one kept PNB and BOB as their first and second preference??? Is there any specific reason to prefer only these two banks as first preference mostly??
i had gone to this coaching centre today for PO interview preparation and guess what their topper scored 132 😲 . i have scored 99 and when i asked about my prospects first of all she gave me a patronising look and then she smirked at me and said 'u have an average score, its difficult to say'.. this has made me feel real low all day. so i know this is the time to gear up for interview but is her statement to be taken for granted? have that many people scored above 100?

If you go to the below RBI link, first you see 'SBI and Associates' where 5 associate bank names are listed.
When you scroll down to the 'Commercial bank' list, there you will find 8 associate bank names under SBI.
Can anyone explain what are they trying to show there? I mean all are associate banks of SBI right?...Then why not in the first list...

Since all of us are preparing for PO interview now, I guess my experience might help other.
This is from my interview for SBI PO 2013, since it was SBI we had both GD+PI & mine was on 9th July 2013 at SBI LHO Building parliament street New Delhi. Due to excitement/nervousness I couldn't sleep properly the night before interview, so on the day of my interview my morning wasn't pleasant I felt a bit feverish.
My interview was scheduled with panel -2 at 11.00AM. Reached there at 10.45, had to wait till 10.55 then they let us in, we were asked to get to 11th floor and wait in the conference room.
Each batch had 12 students, and all 12 of my batch were present. While we were waiting, we started to get acquainted, I don't remember all but only 3 of them as they were UPSC aspirants in fact all of them had already qualified the written last year but were appearing in SBI PO just because of the salary offered in the advertisement. We waited till 1 PM, and then 3 officers showed up started document verification which carried on till 2PM. After the verification process was offer, we were served lunch packets. We all took lunch & waited some more.
Finally at 3PM we were called for our GD session. We reached to other conference hall where GD was to be conducted & took our seats, the panelists entered. there were 4 of them, 1 AGM from SBI Johannesburg , 1 AGM from SBI Tehran , 1 AGM from SBI (somewhere in south) & last one was a Retired GM from some PSB, they gave us the topic for our GD it was “Should retirement age be raised to 65 from 60”. The GD was more like an extempore instead of an open discussion. The GD started and all of us were given about a min to speak on the topic.
After the GD was over, it was again along wait before interviews started. At 5PM the first guy was called in for the interview & the next guy was asked to wait outside the interview room , we were being called according to numbers & mine was 10th.
At 6.45, I was called for the interview & since I was feverish since morning all this waiting and the AC's made my fever worse, so before I went in for the interview I stretched a little took a deep breath before going into he room.
When I was called in I humbly opened the door and asked for permission to get in, they asked me in & when I got in two of them were sitting on single couch and two of them were sitting together on one couch and in front of them was a table on which some snacks was there.
They asked me to sit , I said thank you and sat , all of them were having a copy of my bio-data form so they asked my name and I affirmed it and the show began.
1st interviewer asked me some banking term which I have heard for the first time so I humbly said 'sir I don't know the answer' .
he asked me another banking term question ,again my answer was 'I don't sir'.
He said all right then asked me 'What is CSR'?
I : Corporate social responsibility , he asked what does that mean, I again explained it.
He asked me if SBI is doing any CSR?
luckily I knew answer to that and told him all about it, then he stopped asking and we got to the next interviewer.
2nd interviewer- “Why banking and why should we take you ”,
I took a second and told him “After I finished my engineering I was in a dilemma of what should I do so I took some time to look up my options and started discussing with my dad and other members of my family and after a while i decided to go for banking job as it a ever growing industry and with lots of space for personal growth too ” . to his 2nd part of the question I answered foolishly as was told in the mock interview I said “as I am from mathematical background and banking is all about math I think I will do great in banks & also now days banking system is completely computerized so my engineering. Background will again help me there ”. Then the interviewer asked me so only math and your technically sound background? & I said yes 
. then the interview proceeded.
3rd interviewer- Looking at my biodata for he asked me “So you are form Chhattisgarh ” to which I replied no sir I was born in Chhattisgarh but I belong to Ghaziabad , Again while looking into my bio-data form he asked “ok ok so u have travelled a lot tell us about it ”
I answered “sure sir, since my dad is in central govt. job I did stayed at different, I was born in Jagadalpur Chhattisgarh since my dad was posted there at that time I grew up in jagdalpur till I was 12 & then my dad got transferred to Bhopal so we moved to Bhopal in 2003, then from april 2003 to april 2007 I lived in Bhopal where I did my schooling at KV 1 Bhopal as my father was again transferred to Noida in 2007, we moved to Ghaziabad and I took admission in KV1 Ghaziabad and did my studies class 12th there, then I again moved back to bhopal in 2008 to pursue my engineering & after completion of my engineering I came back to my home”. After this whole discussion moved to my dad,
Q. what ur dad do? I told them abt it, the next question ws again related to my dad, I ansered it, then hey asked do u know something about his work I told them yes & explained it.
Then looking as I knew all about my dad's profession he asked me u talk to ur dad about what he do? & I told yes because I belive that there should be a lot of communication in the family.
Then he asked me about some homoeopathy medicine for blood pressure & another one for digestion I told them the medicines then
1st interviewer said “career is important but u should always do some social work along with ur job either this one or other” on this the 3rd interviewer said he surely will do lots of social work as we(they) can see his knowledge & interest in his fathers work.
Then they said good and keep up the good work all the best for ur future & shook my hand. I said thank u and left.
The interview was of 30 marks I got 14 only(acc. to me i lost mark for my answer to 2nd question that too because i followed that mock interview)My final result of SBI PO was not qualified as my overall score was lesser than the cut-off I hope this will help u. ATB! For ur Interview.
