agree that indian public sector banks are not that ppl frndly ....but want to ask a thing here.... why private banks are hving grt business in India plus they are paying thr employees gud...
The reason is simple - First you have to be employee friendly ... Then only you can expect your employees to bcm ppl friendly...
just blaming employees is not gonna imprve d situation

Friends, as a person who worked in a PSU bank until recently, I can understand what Dy governor of RBI meant. You all will have know a few things about PSU banks:
1. Union system is VERY VERY VERY strong in banks.
2. Co-ordination between unions of different banks is also strong.
3. Even a small stringent / disciplinary action by top management will be severely opposed
4. ANY reform/recommendation by govt will be opposed by senior union leaders (and hence all employees) who are accustomed to their routine.
5. Till probation period is over, a PO will have less respect than senior clerks as PO should not join in any union and will have no backing.
6. Never show your authority too much over substaff. One complaint by them will end your career. Dont give back answers but be restrained for 2 yrs. Your performance/behaviour analysis report will be sent to head office on a regular time basis.
7. All the bank unions want the salary of PO to be equal to new recruit IAS officer as that used to be the case till 1978. (I feel this demand is too much) This is the main demand of 10th BPS.
Dy.Gov must have made the comment in this context
after this new list......i m worried ......with 63.52 G will i get any seat in any bank............do help me....

agree much ...but what will PO do in this case .. i mean a new recruit ... he cannot raise a voice against wrong ...just accept what senior tell him to do...that i dont cnsider fair...
note-i dnt mean raising voice to bcm political leader thr raising voice.. i mean if smthing is wrong just plain No would suffice or it will hurt your probation/ career?

3.i think thats good..otherwise management will do whatever they wish..putting more and more work load on us
4..govt is not thing of reforms..instead they are trying to merge banks..which will have great effect on seniority..and other issues as well

@all our PM manmohan singh has said that almost 70% of demands of 10th bipartite settlement are approved. rest are under negotiations.
i think the rest can be approved easily as elections are coming and govt cant afford 2 oppose crores of psb employees..

so according 2 me.. almost every demand will be accepted. i will not get strange feeling if timing of officers get scheduled.

generally nothing wrong will happen as in general bank employees are friendly and very helpful (among themselves). Only when it comes to WORK, everyone will try to dump it on you. Clerks leave at 2pm or 3pm and ask you to complete the work as Po will stay till 6pm.
You will have your work, work of all clerks combined (clerks can only post but PO has to authorize all transactions) an work given by manager.
No other go buddies.Work hard for 2yrs for a good career.

@bada.bhai well it will be great for us if 10th bps demands are ecpected....but when i remember his record...1st thing that came to me in general is ..he promised to nation ..satanding on red fort that...inflation would be brought down in 100 days...almost 5 have years have past...rather that comming down..inflation has gone up 20 times..if not more..anyways... i hope this time he do whatever he says

buddy that number is POs + Clerks + substaff (peon, daftry) + security officers + specialist officers (IT professionals, forex, loans, chartered accountants etc) + hiring of managers, senior, chief managers and some top management hiring. I think 56000 is a small figure for 125 crore population.
