2. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and its Wholly Owned Subsidiaries (WOS)

3. Bank

4. Depositors

5. Borrowers

6. Various Channels of Banking

Let us quickly look at each entity and its role.

The different entities captured in this figure are:

1.      Government

2.      Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and its Wholly Owned Subsidiaries (WOS)

3.      Bank

4.      Depositors

5.      Borrowers

6.      Various Channels of Banking

7.      Investment Avenues

8.      Regulatory Bodies

9.      Economy

Let us quickly look at each entity and its role.

Government: The government of India frames the fiscal policy which provides a framework for the allocation of the country's budget to the various sectors of its economy. Moreover, the government is a stakeholder in the banking sector with majority stakes in all nationalized banks (commonly grouped as Public Sector Banks - PSBs).

Reserve Bank of India:  The RBI is the central bank for India and it regulates the Banking sector in India. The RBI governs through the RBI Act, 1934. The Reserve Bank of India frames the monetary policy and reviews and makes necessary corrections to it. The main objective of the Reserve Bank of India is to control inflation and spur growth in the economy.

Banks: The centrepiece of the banking sector comprises the individual banks which are governed through the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.  The major function of banks is to accept deposits and lend to borrowers. The main source of profit for banks is the interest they earn on the loans disbursed by them.

Depositors: Banks safeguard the money deposited with them and at the same time pay interest on the deposited funds. Hence, banks are an attractive option for depositing one's savings. Further, banks provide many additional services to depositors and may charge various fees for such services.

Borrowers: Individuals and corporates who need funds may borrow money from banks in the form of various loans. Such borrowers pay interest on the loaned amount to the bank which has given them a loan.

Channels of banking: This covers the various methods of accessing the banking facilities available to the consumers of a bank. Such methods may encompass many different layers and methods.

Investment Avenues: Banks invest in various investment options across the country, either in their individual capacity or as part of a consortium. An investment decision is usually made on the basis of the earning potential of the project.

Regulatory Bodies:  These are the regulatory bodies which effects the environment the Bank works. These are SEBI, AMFI, IRDA and others.

Economy: Banking is one of the vital parts of any country's economy. If an economy is not performing well, then banks' business may suffer. Inversely, if banks are not effective and efficient, the economy as a whole may be negatively impacted.

This is a brief overview of the banking sector overall. Keep reading articles on PaGaLGuY for a detailed look at various banking sector entities and their working.

which book is best for ibps po practice papers

Every job has its own merits/demerits. But, a bank job offers something that none other does... Cheap loans... ! When these people who are criticizing PO jobs for their 'lack of work-life balance' get their first home and car loans , we will talk...

In the end , every job is as you make it ... If you dont wanna work too late in the office, after you become a manager, you can do it.

Only ass lickers and greedy morons who want special aids from their seniors to 'get that promotion' will destroy their work-life balance.

And dudes, when you consider that you will be able to save at least 20k per month on the EMIs of a home and car loan ( considering maximum limits) you will understand that this IS a high paying job. My friends in IT earn around 50 K and it took them 5 years to get there... Still they are not able to save because of the faux 'party' culture and high cost of living of Metros.

So make a decision based on all the factors and stop bashing the PO job .

A wise man once said, the secret of change is to focus on building the new ...

IMHO ,initially , in every job one has to prove his/her mettle. So be prepared to work hard for four years till you become a manager and then you can relax and get married and have fun while enjoying the benefits of a stable, secure and respectable job.

😃

any good bank po coaching in Gurgaon? plz do not suggest Mahendras...gurgaon branch is bulshit

experienced bankers kindly reply: I have seen internet flooded with articles and posts describing MISERABLE LIFE OF BANK PO...is this job is really so frustrating and hopeless??? If it is so why people are mad after this job?

I observed that people are saying x job is better than y coz salary  is little  more yada yada...  Thats a very short term vision and  could be dangerous in long term....  We should do what we love to do, what we always  aspire to be...  Not by just getting  mesmerized by marginal increase in pay and working  less which will not help  you in long run.. 😃 and don't  run away from work as more you do better you become.. If u want to be a banker be one, insurer.. Go for that..  Or regulators or any other.. Be one.. Just don't do it for shake of little  money.. Coz later ull  fade up from ur life if u r not enjoying  it.... All the best!  :)

hey I m new to this place.lot of predictions are going on.so I thought to share my point of view.if we analysis last yr po results then in that allocation file pdf upto 47 marks there are around 2600 candidates.so this yr the results are good.if we take double no of candidates or more than that or around 7000 candidates will be there upto 47.after that the vacancies are remaining if 23000 no of vacacies are taken.

h

what is the transfer period in po in how many years po transfered from one place to another

Chalo jiiiiii...One more analysis to read (specially to motivate low scorer) 😁

Now last year in UR category on score of 47 and above were 2747 candidates out of 9950

Now is PO-IV considering the factor of increase in written cutoff by 21 and more no. of candidates concentrated on low score range(82-95) it may be possible that this year at this score there could be nearly two time the no. of candidates compared to last year(as paper was more or less of same level)

So it makes a total to be near about 5500 candidates at 47 or above...Now assuming vacancies to be same like last year there is probably good chance that cutoff remain in range 46-47...

SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS SPECIALLY MY DEAR LOW SCORERS 😁

Total 90+ scorer will be more than 10000
