Squaring of a number between 69 to 100. (Squares upto 31 should be memorized by heart)
For e.g 73, 89, 96
Let the input be 96
Note: Answer will be a four digit number. _ _ _ _
1. Find the difference between 100 and the input number.
(Here it is 100-96 = 4)
2. Now subtract the above calculated difference from the input number itself. I.e. 96-(difference from 100) = 96-4 = 92. This makes the first two digits of the answer. So answer is of the form 92_ _ .
3. Now square the difference calculated in step 1. It is 4^2=16.
This makes the last two digits of the answer.
Hence the answer becomes 9216.
Note: In situations where the square of the difference is a three digit number, then move the carry to the next place. For e.g.89^2.
1. Difference from 100 . (100-89 = 11)
2. Subtract above difference from the input number. ( 89-11 = 78) Ans of the form 7 8 _ _
3. Now if you observe, the square of difference.
11^2 = 121 (a 3 digit number). Shift the carry 1 to the next place. So the answer becomes 7 (8+1) 2 1 = 7921.
people have started posting shortcut for square of a no. and bla bla bla..bhaiyon aur behno result toh aane do...pehle hi haath khrhe krke beth gye ho...poora saal prha yeh shortcuts yaad krne ke liye
kirpya 1 april tk shaanti bnaaye rkho
Guys what do u ppl think on how many candidates dint appear or dint cleared document verification...If the numbers are more den, the competition becomes almost 1:2 rite..
Shortcut for squaring any 3 digit number.
For e.g 209 , 816 , 712
Note: The answer will be of 6 digits.
Let the answer be of the form a b c d e f.
Let us find the square of 209
Step 1: Separate the digits of the input number as 2 and 09.(So if the input number is of the form pqr, separate it into p and qr.)
Step 2: Square the first digit of the input input number. i.e. (p^2) = (2^2=4) . This makes the ab part of the answer. So the answer now becomes0 4 c d e f
Step 3: Square the remaining part of the input, i.e the last two digits or qr. (qr^2= 09^2 = 81)This makes the last two digits of the answer. So now the answer becomes of the form 0 4 c d 8 1.
Step 4: Now to find c d in the answer, simply multiply the two parts of the input numbers together and then with 2. i.e. p * qr * 2= 2*09*2 = 36.
Answer now becomes 043681.
Note: Just remember that the square of the last two digits of the input number, can accommodate only the last two digits of the answer, Hence transfer the carry(if any) to the digit on the next place.
For e.g. (712)^2 .
Step 1: Separate input no. into 7 and 12.
Step 2: Square of first digit of input = 7^2 = 49
Ans. 4 9 _ _ _ _Step 3: Square last two digits of input number, i.e, (12)^2= 144.
Now in the answer the last two digits will be 44 and the 1 will be carried forward.Ans. 4 9 _ ( _ + 1) 4 4.
Step 4: 7*12*2 = 168
Even here carry will be forwarded
.Ans = 4 (9+1) 6 (8+1) 4 4 = 5 0 6 9 4 4
