- 3rd choice
- 2nd choice

Okay guys. This is my First post in this site. I am from Jammu and i am a general candidate and if i will be given advantage of Reservation i will definately avail it but not having quota is not my fault. In the same way someone having Quota is lucky for sure but that does not mean that we call him a beggar. So think Guys. Is this a person's fault that he has quota? It is just LUCK nothing else....
Hi guys this is purush88
Note:
1.If you are Gen Candidate Person ( My Humble Request) Please don't read this Article, you will not like it.
2.This Article is to give you core idea about seat Allotment in IBPS.
3.There are lot of candidates who has lot of doubts about selection process, I think this article will help them.
4.Some of my reserved candidates friends asked me about seat allotment and cut-off so at the end I added some information for them.
First we should know about reservation system in India. SC has 15% quota, ST has 7% quota, PH has 0.5 quota, OBC has 27.5% of quota and GNERAL has 50% of quota "Which includes SC,ST,OBC, and PH" this literally means there is No separate quota for General candidates. Total =100%
The blow is just an example for understanding.
Consider there are 1000 vacancies for PO, out of which 150 seats will be allocated to SC candidates, likewise 70 seats will go to ST, 5 seats will go to PH, 275 seats will go to OBC , all this includes a total of 500 (50%), this 500 is reserved only for reserved candidates "No" General candidate can occupy this seats. On the other hand there are 500 combined vacancies for all candidates including (GEN+Reserved).
Now there are 1000 seats, 500 reserved and 500 is for open competition. Now what computer does.
Step 0: The Interview marks are loaded in to the computer manually.
Step 1: First the computer will arrange the marks (Written+Intrview) in descending order.
step 2: Then it will split all the marks based on community in descending order.
step 3: Now computer will check in each reserved community the following.
a) The total cut-off above or equal to 76.
b) each section cut-off equal or above Gen Category.
c) Age Criteria less then 30 and higher "DOB"
If a reserved candidate satisfied these criteria he/she will be moved to "UR or GEN Category".
Step 4: First all the reserved candidates are allocated banks in UR according to their preference only if they clear the final cutoff of GEN.
Note: They can only competate in UR if their score is below the final cutoff of GEN, Rserved candidates will be alloted first preferenced bank only if their final cut off is above final cutoff of GEN.
step 5: 10% of Gen seats will be occupied by reserved candidates, Once it is done then the 40% ( assuming) of Gen candidates seat will be allocated to General category ( This is the reason for "Higher Final cut-off" for Gen Candidates).
Step 5:Once the UR seats are filled, the reserved candidates seats are allocated with higher mark and higher DOB ( Which GEN cannot occupy) in their respective category.
Step 6: Finally rank list is prepared for each community.
The above is the Procss.
Note: There are some check in mechanism to stop reserved candidates occupying Gen seats ( ie) The computer will check the first mark and last mark in Gen, within that range a reserved candidate should get in else he/she will not be included to competete in Gen even if he satsifies gen criteria which i mentioned above, like these there are few mechanism to stop reserved candidate occupying Gen seats ( other mechanisms i am not much aware ) . it is not that a guy scores above cutoff of gen will competete in gen. So gen guys dont worry. Every year this happens, hardly 5% will only occupy gen seats remaining 45 or 44% will be exclusively for gen categories candidates only
Illustration:
This Happens in "UR Filling of Vacancies"
Case 1: Gen candidat scored 55, obc guy scored 55, sc/st scored 55 in this case Sc/St along with OBC will get the bank first based on Higher DOB followed by GEN.
Case 2: Gen candidate scored 55, obc guy 54.6, Sc/St 54.8 in this case : Gen will be allotted seat first followed by SC/St and OBC.( So Gen candidates has to score high )
Case 3; Gen candidate scored 55, obc scored 57, sc/st scored 55.2 then OBC will be allotted first followed by Sc/st and Gen.
Case 4: if a Gen scored 58 and another gen scored 57 and obc scored 56 and st scored 55 , it will be 58 57 56 55 in this case the reserved candidate cannot occupy the gen seat of 58 and 57.
Conclusion: The GEN Candidates should score very "High Marks" to get their preferred banks if they have AIM of getting into such banks.
The Higher Rank (Mark) Will Always Get First Preference irrespective of any reservation. if SC ST and OBC scores above 85 they will spoil GEN seats on the other hand if SC/ST/OBC scores High, their Proposition will be higher in overall total.
Do any one of you know why SC and ST cut-off is Lower this time: The Answer is Below.
If u r Gen, pray More Number of OBC/SC/ST should have scored less then 90 Marks.
If u r Reserved category, pray more no of candidates should have scored more then 85-90 why ? If a reserved candidate scores above 85-90 he will occupy GEN seat, then the entire vacancy in reserved category will be filled by below 85 candidates and this is the reason why SC and ST category cut off has come down this time, (ie) more SC candidates has scored high Marks this time, so they will occupy Gen seats," so the competition for sc/st will be starting from below 85 marks in their reservation" and Gen Cut off may go high against expectancy )
Note: if there are 2000 vacancies for SC, IBPS will call 6000 for interview if 1000 scored seats in Gen then out of 2000 vacancies only 5000 candidates will fight for it, this is the Advantage for reserved candidates and dis-advantage for GEN candidates.
I think so this will give you some idea about reservation and expected cut-off.
Final Verdict:
If it is true that Sc ,St and Obc have scored High marks this time, then the final cut-off for GEN may shoot up against the expected cut-off of 48.4, for Sc, St and obc it may come down to 36 , 32 and 44 against the expected final cut off of 38, 34 and 46.4. This is the reason for lower cut-off for SC candidates this time around, in this case even a guy scored 58+ in sc and 85+ in obc with 12 in interview will get sure seat.
"The Advantage for Reserved catgories is if they clear final cutoff of gen they will b alloted their preferenced bank first then only gen category people will be alloted banks, if higher scores of reserved category move from GEN to RESERVED category then their preference of bank is based on ranking in their respective category, this is the dis-Advantage"
"This is for one of my friend in Pagalguy who asked me clarify some doubts, This is for Him".
Now we will analysis mark based system. Considered an obc guy (A) he got 76 and another obc guy (B) who got 96 , so they have 20 marks difference, in this case will (B) only get seat (job) because he is 20 marks a head of you ? "NO" when it is converted to final cut-off the difference is reduced highly.
76x80/200=30.4+12 in Interview = 42.4
96x80/200=38.4+12 in Interview = 50.4, so the difference is eight marks. (42.4-43.4, 43.6-44.4, 44.6-44.4 ...).
EG (only): Now i coming to the point, out of this 8 marks we split 8 marks into 8 ones (1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1), each mark has following points in-between (ie) .00 .2, .4, .6, .8 .1.
1st difference in mark has 6 decimals, subsequently next difference in mark has 5 decimals. How it is done (42-43) = 42.00, 42.20, 42.40, 42.60, 42,80, 43.00 (Totally 6 decimals),
Next digit (43-44) starts from 43.20, 43.40,44.60,44.80,45.00 (5 decimals, 43.00 is not included here because it was included in previous one).
For SC candidats, each of this points have roughly 50 candidates, so for 1 mark we have ( 50x1(points)=50 + 50x5(points)= 300 candidates) if there is 8 (50.4-42.4) marks difference, then multiply 7x250+1x300 = 2050, within this eight mark difference, there are 2050 candidates are fitting ( Remember there is a huge difference between 76-96), so don't worry even if you have scored 66 and some-one has scored 86, u will still fit in the vacancy.
Note: In my previous article i have given how many OBC and General candidates fit within 1 mark, please go through that, u will get some ideas.
I know this article will be hurting for some of my GEN category friends but lot of my reserved class friends requested for this information, so i posted it. if it is hurts a larger section of the candidates then i am happy to remove it , if there are any mistakes please point it to me, I will rectify it.
Thank you.
Guys, My sincere Apologies to all category Candidates. I felt really sorry for Posting that article, because of me a cast war, abuse, hatred started in PG, I submit my Apologies to all peoples irrespective of cast and gender. Agar ek UR aur ek Reserved candidate k 90 marks hai...aur UR cutoff say 48 h...to almost zero possibility h ki reserved candidate ko interview me 12 milenge....even if interview of both the candidates are literally same....so chill nothing new will happen this year..but jinhone bhi reserved catg me high score kiya h say 95+ ya 100 + unke chances bante hai ur me qualify krne k lie..
@purush88 your post has given me sleepless night yesterday...seeing d last yr trend- general will get only 4000-4300 seats to fight (if vacancies remain close to 13500 and 6750 for unreserved) bcoz 2400-2700 seats will be grabbed by reserved category guys....
in this condition, what's wrong if a general candidate asks for his/her chances after scoring 100+...when written marks was displayed i was pretty sure to make it to the final list...now i really doubt..
score-99.75
interview-below average
what are my chances??
