How are you all doing?? 😃 Yeah yeah I know most of you must be having random attacks of anxiety because of the PO interview that is round the corner. Don't worry, be honest, humble and never fake it.
For those who are/have been dealing with bullies and having massive shortage of faith in themselves, I have a story to share.
Being a soft target, I have always been bullied in my life. It didn't end with the college, rather it accompanied me to the 'mock interview coaching classes' I had joined for the first exam that I cleared in banking competition. As I had been an introvert person, communication was never my forte. I joined the coaching because I didn't want to miss a single chance and also as I lacked sufficient confidence to sit for an interview.
The first few days of classes were dedicated to clearing basics of banking and two 15min GD sessions followed by the views/personality assessment of the participant candidates by the spectator candidates. During my 1st GD session, I fumbled for words while I was brimming with ideas on that particular topic. My spoken language in English was such stuttering that the idea of the concept/topic was ambiguous for others to comprehend but afterwards as I gained confidence I started speaking clearly ending the GD with a flawless English. In the end, during the assessment, a guy mocked me in front of the whole class "Sabse maje ki bat ye hai ke akhri me inki English ekdum badhiya hojati hai" (The most funny thing was that her English suddenly became impeccable in the end) followed by a loud laugh of the whole class.
He kept saying that even after the class got over. I too laughed showing no signs of pain..but I couldn't sleep that night..I kept wailing for 3-4 days recalling the mockery. I even skipped the class on very next day.
Cut to June 23, BOB bhawan, New Delhi 1:30pm.
"Hi!! You too here?" Uttered a voice behind me.
"Hi!! Nice to meet you here again", I resonated cheerfully. She was the girl who was also there in my interview coaching class. After going through the document check, we sat together, exchanged pleasantries. Then after sometime, she suddenly remarked "Are sabse majedar bat tuje yad hai, us ladke ne teri kitni sahi udayi thi GD wale din..hahahaahaa.." I was suddenly reminded of that ill-fated day that I so much wanted to forget..thinking how and what to react I looked at her face blankly with utter shock, that why she came up with such an unpleasant incidence at this point of time when my name is going to be called any moment for the Group Discussion. I remembered my late grandparents to bless me with strength to deal with such kind of negativity around me and went for the GD.
Cut to Result day: Revelation of marks.
My phone rang. A whatsapp message has arrived with an image of marksheet. "Hey I couldn't make it. They failed me in the interview. What about you?" said the same girl.
My reply I would like you people to see,especially the GD/PI marks 😊
Moral: 1) KARMA is a b*tch
2) I had the last laugh..infact anybody can..you just have to keep faith in yourself.
P.S. Before anybody says that I am bragging, I would like him/her to know a few things about me.
1)The post was meant for people who are introvert and lack faith in themselves, just to boost their morale before the D-Day.
2) Am a really average person, I managed to score a 52% in 12th.
3)It took me 6 years to complete Engineering instead of 4, because I had 7 backs and clearing all of them took two additional years.
4) I always wanted to be a doctor, so burnt my midnight oil for 2.5 years (after completing engineering) to prepare for MBBS entrance that I couldn't clear.
5)I failed in many bank exams prior to nail the BMSB one.
In short I have failed infinite times but never stopped trying and this attitude, I would like, all the shy people here to inculcate in themselves.
