Some myths about govt bank jobs. Sharing feedback of my friends. Myself a pvt bank asst mngr with jaiib.
All get rural posting. - Thats only if you are new joinee. For others rural posting is matter of chance. If you are really qualified and maintain good rapport with union and hrd personnel you will hardly ever go out of city. Tried n tested.
Lot of pressure- Part of this is poor existing systems. When newcomer joins he/she hardly efforts to change them. No contribution from so called asst managers. They forget they are Managers.
Customer argues n insults - I being in pvt have handled the worst like ca and lawyers.Psb is much better. Keep reading n raising ur knowledge level. Customers never dare argue with a well read person who knows his job. Mostly the staff lack confidence due to knowledge level and cant defend themself even when right. Thats a fact!
Salary is low - Actually salary is higher in insurance,ssc ip/nip. Thats only due to a lag between bank settlements and pay commissions. Also because there is not single union in bank but several who are not united in their claims. But it is being discussed nowadays.
Overall - bank is a demanding job and one must try only if willing. It is those who are unsatisfied for variety of reasons(mainly salary) keep complaining. Keep good relations with others seniors and juniors union or hrd, and be tactful, it sorts out most issues. Dont insult bank if u dont like it,please. Basically you are in wrong job.

Dear Friends, one question... every one is talking about the Final Cutoff(on a scale of 100, taking written and interview) and its most likely to be 48.4 or above. My question is, what is the final cutoff, which is 48.4? Is this the marks getting which one will be absorbed in any bank?? or again the merit list would be prepared(as it happens in written) and a candidate securing last place may be quite above the calculated and expected marks of 48.4? Pls reply.
