I have got 95.03% and 97 in QA and 86 in VA
Got b3.4 in 10 and 83.4 in 12 and 80 in grad..
still not get any call...
And that iim k stuff is full fargi they just call everyone to fill up the form..

how old are you. I heard dropping an year was not a good idea. I have the same results as you. I will try iits , imt etc.
but whats the reason behind this? we do fulfill the basic criteria for half the IIMs, then why arent we eligible for even 1st round?!! as per mentioned in their admission policy...
@gshrey manan here.. perhaps your QA percentile are letting you down.. btw the shortlists for new IIMs are out. check it out.

QA - 82 and VA - 89
got a call for IIM-K just for registration though.
@gshrey, dude the 70's you mention in those pdf's are eligibility critieria they consider for admission.. like how we need 50% above in graduation scores and all.. only if you get above it they even look at your other stuff.. that doesn't automatically qualify you for selection or even the next round of WAT/PI's.. do the math yourself - around 2L ppl took CAT this time, and there are about 2000 seats in all the IIMs put together.. now, around 50% is gone in reservation, leaving behind around 1000 seats for General Category.. Now assuming that the IIMs have a calls/seat ratio of 8:1, that's 8000 calls.. In which there will be a whole lot of intersections, meaning max about 4000 individuals will be called in the general category.. that's 98%ile.. Get it?
Besides there are loads of ppl without a single call at 99.5%ile and all, so you really can't complain. That's the competition found in today's scenario. Simple supply/demand stuff.. I myself got 98.34%ile last time in CAT and still didn't manage anything, so here I am..
actually what is that form filling stuff in iim k alone???why is tat done...my frnd is highly hopeful becoz he was to asked to do it by a mail from iim-k.... :(...so,,wat is the cut off for iim-k??
I know it sucks but MBA in India is flawed.
The premise is flawed, the admission processes are flawed. Except for ISB.
The scores are often held as 'cut offs' as opposed to factors to demonstrate that you have the basic aptitude required for an MBA.
@thisiseverthing your case is particularly annoying. With your sectional scores you have shown that you have the basic aptitude for an MBA from a good institute. After that, they need to consider the rest of your profile ; your acads, your work ex, your personality, your leadership qualities. According to me you deserve a call from all the top institutes. But then again, it is India and we gotta live with it.
Just my cent , it may not be the right forum to say or the right thing to say , but i feel that this whole idea of reservation for nc-obc is one of the reasons for GMEI guys ( thats for General Male Engineer and IT ) to suffer. I am not complaining much since i can't expect an IIM call at 93.90 ! To someone who has scored 97 or 98 it is definitely unfair when he sees someone with 85 or 86 percentile making it to IIM !! And we all know how kids of ppl who are not Government employees and more specifically businessmen tweak the ruling of NC-OBC in their favor. Its easier for them to declare a lesser family income !! This is the system here and we just have to play hard to get ahead !!!
i was shocked abt some institutes giving 5% of marks for girls for being a gal.
