We know how much most of the Indian Engineering colleges lack in providing students with the resources to use theoretical knowledge for some practical applications. To address this issue, I led the launch of a technical forum €˜Electronics Club €™ in our college by bringing together people with similar interests. I was able to build a passionate team and convinced the college to provide dedicated labs and faculty guidance. We organized a number of events to promote learning. We were also able to get some sponsors for the club which provided us with the other required resources. All this was a great learning experience which helped me develop my leadership and team-building skills.

My second project was the enhancement and maintenance of a Web-Application of a renowned telecom giant. The project just got transferred to our company and I was selected for this newly built team of the project. We were facing a lot of problems because the application at different testing environment was not consistent. To resolve this issue, I took up the responsibility of being the Configuration Management Anchor of the project. To quickly resolve this issue, I ensured that everybody takes up ownership of some part of the application and synchronize their part at all the environment. Also, everybody has to document all the changes that are done in the application so that proper consistency could be achieved.
Today every organization, every educational institute has its own Facebook page, we can easily get important information about that institute, connect with its students. For e.g. SIBM has launched a facebook page where aspirants could prepare for GDPI, discuss general topics of great importance, etc. There are other groups on facebook that I had used for preparing for MBA entrance exam preparation.
Sites like Linkedin provides an opportunity to build our professional network, find exciting job opportunities, connect to alumni of organization. It also helps us in finding the general career progression of a person from an institute, there is so much of information available, it just depends how we use it.
They are playing a very significant role in making people all over the world aware about their rights. They have toppled oppressive regimes of Africa and Middle East, which big armies and militants could not do, just by uniting the common people. It has made people stand up against heinous crimes like Delhi-Gang rape case, pressurized Indian governments to make better laws and ensure safety of women in the country.
To sum it up, it has made me more aware of the world around me, introduced me to new people, new ideas and thoughts, it has united us against injustice, provided me with innovative ways of connecting with people, provided me with valuable information.
I would like to become Narendra Modi if given an opportunity. He is now synonymous with economic development in the state of Gujarat. Today Gujarat is the foremost choice of every company for setting up its industry. It has attracted investments not only from Indian investors, but foreign as well. He has secured a second consecutive term as CM of Gujarat in the wake of his development, this is a welcome change in Indian politics. The law and order position in the state has seen a significant improvement under him. If I would make such significant contribution in the progress of the country, I would consider my life as a successful one. The changes I would like to make will obviously be the stand against religious minorities. There are serious charges against him for at least inaction during the Godra riots if not the involvement. Moreover, the party under him does give representations to Muslims which is the biggest minority of the country. Until the development is not inclusive for every section of the society, the development could not be termed complete development. A good should always rise above the petty discriminatory issues if he has to use the potential of every person.
The daily time that I spend on social networking sites varies depending upon the need, but on average I spend around half an hour a day. I find this time spent by me justified because of the immense benefits that I get out of it. In this information age, these sites act as a great equalizer where anybody could connect with any other irrespective of one €™s social, economic status. They are a great tool for not just connecting with people for recreation but they also gives us an opportunity to share ideas with people all around the world.
