Hi,

I need your help to know about universities that will fit my profile and score.

I had given my GMAT last year in October and got just 550. Q:36 V:28 AWA:4

My second attempt also did not help me much. Just got 590. I was targetting 650+ but did not score.
Q:36 V:35 AWA:4.5

I had practised a lot for my second attempt and used to get 680. with Q always above 45 but in the real gmat I got a very low score.

BUt now I am keen on joining a univ for my MBA. I cannot wait longer as I have my personal commitments or I would not be able to give my MBA ever. I have started practising again for GMAT, concentrating only on OG for now So if i get 700+ consistently then I will take a date. But I want to apply with my 590 score as well for Septemeber intake 2010. My profile is as follows.

I am a BMS Graduate 2006 passout with First class from Mumbai University. currently working as Senior Account Manager @ a very well known Indian digital agency. I have handled International and National brands helping them exploit internet as an advertising medium. My profile primarily involves strategy, business dev & Client servicing. My total work experience is now 3.5 years and will be completing 4 years at the time I start my course. Workwise I have an excellent profile but just the GMAT is turning out to be a pain.

I want to go for my MBA specialisation in Marketing & Strategy or International Business.

Please suggest best universities for my intended course and my profile. I have not taken admissions in India even after getting 90 percentile plus in Indian examinations like CET, CAT etc because I feel only a International university can give me the required knowledge and skills that will justify and enhance my profile.

Please suggest. Thanks.(I can send across my Resume on email if required. Please PM your email id.)

I hate to bring you bad news - but Indians are insanely competitive applicant pool - you need to improve your GMAT score.

otherwise, you need to start researching schools - and most importantly if you have target companies in your head, you can see where they go and hire students. You dont need a 700+ but at least give 650+ a shot. Sit with some friends and try and see where you are going wrong.

Your MBA schools should also depend on where you see yourself working geopgraphically. Maybe you should be more clear in your goals and junta here can help you.

IMO - give your GMAT another shot in December and ACE It!

@fordfirestone I am aware of this situation. Indians are very competitive cos Indians are more.

On the GMAT front I have tried very hard. I attempted GMAT last week. I may give GMAT a shot but am not counting on it.

The countries are not my focus as in the end I will come back to India after working abroad for 2 years. Focusing on US & Europe University.

The company I intend to work doesnt matter cos I will get back into agency business which will be very easy for me to get into cos of my workex

At the moment I think thunderbird and CASS can be a good try but I need to know other univs as well.
