I also received a reply from HEC regarding my profile.. and then I happen to attend the recent event in Delhi.. Surely, it was an enlightening event with old alums, career management center officer, Fall 11 admitted students and prospective applicants being present...

Well, just to summarise my takeaways from the event:

1. Placements - To work in France, you need to know French and HEC in-house classes wont help you reach the desired level..HEC is just coming up on top consults hiring list.. HEC is like IIM A of Paris... so any company would want to hire you...

2. HEC is an awesome place to spend 16 months of ur life... huge diversity..No cut throat competition.... Parties and French wine... \m/

3. Some godly profs are present in HEC for Marketing..... I mean world's best.

4. Finances and Scholarships - Well it is a costly school.... high end schol for lucky few can be 15-20K euros...

As of now I am still thinking .. Reasons making me think are: Money and Language.....

How are you planning to finance the course? Ofcourse , you must have given it a thought ...

I was at onsite and saved some money...and remaining I will depend on scholarships or loans..

1. Do the scholarships/loans consider ur work ex as +ve?
2. On the site of HEC paris, French language was not as MANDATORY. so how it wil help?

no idea about how they consider work ex.. all the scholarship applications.. you need to write an essay.. depending on that.. scholarship is given.. its merit based.. apart from that there are need based also..
while applying, we can get some help from admission advisor.. i guess..

French lang.. is taught on campus.. but knowledge before hand will be + point..

hello guys

I have scored 700 in GMAT & I have 2.80 yrs of work experience.
I am planning to apply for january 2012 intake
The next deadline is on 30th may.But I won't be able to prepare my application packet so early.
Hence I am planning to apply in the 2nd last round (by 6th September)
What would be my chances of getting in if I apply so late?

I am planning to apply for HEC Paris 2012 Intake in 6th Sep round. My profile is as follows:

GMAT Score - 750
TOEFL score - 110
Work Exp - 3 years(as of date)
Good Academic record,ok extra curriculars

I had send my CV for initial assessment and they have found my profile suitable to their application program and encouraged me to apply. Can please anyone of you help me with the information about the cost of school, its strengths and some pointers for the application.

I have been reading last year's thread, and I am convinced that HEC Paris is a kicka** school.
Now this question is aimed not at some specific applicant who has worked onsite in France, or did his bachelors there. Rather I want to know from the generic Indian applicant like me. How did you guys give yourself an answer to this question -
"Why France and why not US/UK/Asia?"

Try asking yourself why HEC? instead. is there anything specifically great about teh b-school (for you) that will make you want to attend it?

I mean it in a good way. I am convinced that HEC is a great school and has some very nice features (high brand value, 16 months, focus on diversity & leadership, good exchange pgms).

My question was focused more on the choice of the country. I was interested in knowing why some of us are applying for an MBA from France, when US and UK are the preferred destinations (for various reasons). That's because I haven't considered many other countries. So I wanted to know if I'm missing something in my understanding. :)

I had applied for Jan12 intake for Oct 18-the last deadline and got the interview call yesterday. Has anyone else got a call too...please let me know..
Also if anyone has done with the interview process, please share your experiences. Got really nervous as of now...!!!!!
