Hi Pagals

How many times has it happened that we come across a very good article on the web or in news papers and would like to share it with other ppl. So let us post the links to good articles we find on the web. They could be of any subject but preferably management.

And let us not CCP ( cut-copy-paste for the non-bskoolers) the articles on the forum but only provide the link.

But please mention the content of the article so that ppl know what to expect.

Let me start by posting the link to the article " 5 things B-schools don't teach!"
http://in.rediff.com/money/2005/mar/22guest.htm
We can also discuss the article if we want.

PS: Mods i searched for a similar thread but could not find one. So please lemme know if a similar thread exists and we can continue there.

here is another one about placements in b schools......

I simply dont understand how software piracy hurts india...
If all indians started paying for XP, Office... our foreign exchange would be down 25%
Companies like Microsoft lose money but hey they are not indian companies...

Piracy of non indian software is actually helpful to the economy because we r getting the benefits of the good work done outside without paying too much...
Ofcourse Kiran Karnik must be getting a millon dollars from Microsoft or something... or just trying to be politically correct...
If indian written software is pirated then its understandable...

nice point DG. u wud be surprised that people do follow it.

my pc is an assembled one and the chap who provided me the components also gave me the software that i needed. they were complementary ofcourse that means that they were versions of the real thing hijacked by Red Rackham

now it happened so a few weeks ago that i required one of those things which provide a regional script layout for a regular keyboard and so applied to the guy. i was surprised when he charged me 6000 of the finest for the darned thing!!!! i asked arnd and the same thing happened everywhere else. they all refused to retail pirated versions of the software as it was locally developed!!!!! and they all scattered MS and Adobe packages and other stuff like Maya and all like blue bloods scatterin doubloons for the plebs.

it was heartining really. to see them support the local industry thus

cheers

coooolllll tub for the brain PG me turning a shade of green seein ye olde monsieur perched on the cranial protection he rocks

anish bhai speakin of the Unicorn i cud go on and on and on lovely bike. i cud as well say the best production bike in the country at the moment. i was cheated outta one in favour of my current steed, an Activa; but have spent enough time behind the handle bars of one the babies to say that it simply is out of the world. the handling, power delivery(smooooth), gear shifts(creamy ), clutch action(soooooft), comfort are waaaaaaayyyyyyyy better than any other my bud tells me that it puts out a decent mileage too.

the gearbox's the smoothest and slickest of the whole lot in the country and the power delivery is amazing i took it out for a spin on NH 5 and it it did some amazing stuff. even at full throttle hardly any vibs or instability. got a top speed of 109kmph and boss the gear box with the fab rev figures let u lose the traffic inside city conditions in the blink of an eyelid. ofcourse the pulsar and cbz (which rocks ) beat it in the acc off zero, u sud see the unicorn go at it the roll-ons after 50!!!!!!! u'll be amazed. surprisingly the rather thin rubber on the rear does allow u to bank into and outta curves as deep as u please!!!! cud never make out how:shock:  seriously. this baby has to be ridden to be believed. and yes the looks are rather, um.. errr...hero hondaish.... nothing new or drop dead gorgeous except the rear cluster(lovely ass really ) and the fairing from dead ahead......

rode for quite a bit of tamac and nil fatigue from sittin posistion and otherwise and me all of 6ft1in and 89kilos

the bike doesnt wallow too much either. guess something to do with the monoshock.......

cheers:)

On the topic of newspapers - what sections of the newspaper do you read regularly?
Do you manage to read the entire paper from head to toe?

another good article, methinks:
