I am preparing on my own and facing a lot of problems with Sentence Correction Idioms. Though I could find a list of many of them on internet, still the site didn't say on -- what the idioms should not be used with. For Example --"Able" is used with something. Not sure what Able should not be used with.
Do we have any good site giving us all the list of GMAT idioms used and not to be used?

First of all A, D and E modify feet. So they are OUT!
Sentence gives us to piece of information
a) A huge flying reptile that died out with the dinosaurs some 65 million years ago, the Quetzalcoatlus had a wingspan of 36 feet,
b) AND it is believed to have been the largest flying creature the world has ever seen.
has ever seen needs to be parallel with the verb HAVE BEEN.
so C is right answer

1. A substance derived from the Madagascar periwinkle, which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients, is cultivated in China as part of a program to integrate traditional herbal medicine into a contemporary system of health care.
(A) A substance derived from the Madagascar periwinkle, which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients,
(B) A derivative, which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients, of the Madagascar periwinkle,
(C) A Madagascar periwinkle derivative, which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients,
(D) The Madagascar periwinkle has a derivative which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients, thatďźˆE
(E) The Madagascar periwinkle, a derivative of which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients,
My answer choice is C coz only this option clearly tells whether its the derivative or the periwinkle itself which is used for curing leukemia and is cultivated in china.
But it doesnt match with the answer choice given!!!
Can some1 explain this?

A - which refers to periwinkle while it should refer to the derivative
B - too many fragments, awkward construction
C - which correctly refers to derivative but the derivative is not the one
that is cultivated.
D - "that" should be used instead of which
E - correct.

now here i have a doubt:
looking at the original question, i got the feeling that they are talking abt the heeling powers of the derivative and the place where it is cultivated. the original sentence also says a substance derived from the madagascar periwinkle...hence gave me all the more reason 2 believe that it is the derivative which is being cultivated.

C, D and E ruled out
A and B are close ..
would go for B .."model after" is the correct idiom rather than "model like "
Should be "B"
OA pls :)
