I would go for (E)
A, B usage of word "being" makes sentence sounds passive !! c awkward ! D beside using passive voice also lacks subject reference in first clause "The right hand and arm being crippled by a sniper's bullet during the First World" whose right hand and arm ??

'the entire party' here acts as a singular subject. 1. 'their' not applicable. 2. 'are' and 'their' not applicable. 3. Correct (use of 'is/its' against singular subject) 4. fragment.

This is a real tricky 1...
I would rule out 4,5 because of usage of the odds... as illustrated by the follwing eg. In spite of all odds... Inspite of all the odds doesn't sound gr8...
Among 1,2 & 3 i would go with 2 because of usage of 'at'.. In this case, each home is at the island not in the island... in the island is logically incorrect...

A can only be the answer in case, the entire party was divided... but in this case the entire party is for the bill, and is acting as a group, hence the subject is singular... Therefore, how can their be used for the party... please correct me if i'm wrong...
kapur.arnav , that's what i also marked as my take- 3) , even i had the same line of thinking , but i want to make sure.... because OA says A is correct

i am having doubts abt the question 3. sub-verb agreement rules out choices A,B and E. Both C &D; has similar problem. shouldnt the phrase be "both when to become active and when to remain "? "or" is not serving the purpose of "both". correct idiom should be "both X and Y" isnt it? or is it "both X or Y"?
In that case best answer should be "E". gurus, ur consultation required plz...
