I assume answer for this is A.

Subject has to be close to the verb and Participle (modifier) needs subject of reference.

Hi harshal - could you please check the original question and options for any spelling error, missing comas etc. I will take the approach of 'select the option that stinks the least based on whar you have given'

First Vertical Scan: Its a choice between 'makes' and 'make'; powers of observation in the first part of the sentence means it has to be 'make'. Down to D and E
E is wordy, messy and not crisp at all. D fits in.
(D is not a good way of expressing the idea but if these are the options then it stinks the least. Go with D.)

I think it should be (E).
A,B and C are eliminated as 'makes' doesn't go with 'letters' . (D) doesn't fit as it makes no sense: 'that make his letters as a group----'
do you know the correct answer? do let me know...

As it righty pointed out-make is the right verb here.I ama lso confused in D/E.I feel the use of As-it introduces the clauseor actions(here i believe , the letters are compared with the group or contained in group), so will reject D and will proceed with E.
anyway Post OAwith explanation plz.

E for this one. I think answer as good as the time you take to come up with. I don't mind getting wrong, I'd like to build that logic to come up with correct answer in stipulated time (about 1.5 mins).

Pls post the answers and explantions for both the questions. I think first one is from OG.

(E) when great ice sheets existed in areas now that are temperate

When looks correct with age. I would have preferred and option that said:
'when great ice sheets existed in current temperate areas' , due to lack of this option, D looks best to me.

I go for E, its the only option that doesnt alter the meaning in the original sentence.

D.Each adult among fifty carries (each means all of the fifty people, we are looking for just one person in fifty)

Guys,
one basic doubt.
for (B) if I say in which great ice sheets had existed in what are now temperate areas, is it incorrect. Why only existed and not had existed?
