Hi Rajesh! Though and although both are 'Conjunctions of Concession' and they give a sense of Concession / Supposition. Ex; Though he is black, he looks beautiful. Though should either be followed by 'yet' or a 'comma' in the next clause.
Although / though mean 'inspite of the fact that; Even though ; However : But;' Although and Though are often interchangeable. Although is usually placed at the beginning of its clause whereas though may occur anywhere in the sentence.
1. In the first sentence there is no sense of supposition so I would go with B).
2. A)
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
1.Ans Choice B is written in da passive mode...I think answer is A. 2.A comma before "there" is always almost wrong...I think Answer ib B.

This very first Phrase , "In virtually all types of tissue in every animal species," somehow sounds vague. The use of 'In' two times makes it sound less appropriate.

Any ideas/comments ??
The answer according to me is (E). As pointed out by Nssaini, C and D are redundant.
Well ChivaS, I think the use of "in" two times removes the redundancy. The first "in" clearly modifies "tissues" while the second "in" modifies "animal species".

14) Since 'crop yields' is plural ... 'surpasses' is ruled out ... so B, C eliminated right away. The ans can't be A coz 'last yr' can not 'surpass crop yields'. The two sides of verp surpass have to be parallel. So we are left with D, E... It can't be E coz first crop yield is not an occurence, secong the sentence is too wordy and awkward especially if compared to D which fits best.
10) First, since we are talking ' one or other ' it will be a singular pronoun. Indefinite pronouns in any case are singular. So, A,D 'states' ruled out. E has logical contradiction. its changing the meaning altogether. So between B and C... ' one or the other ' is a better fit pronoun vis-a-vis 'one or another'
Hope this helps! Cheers, Lizzy **************************************** You won't need pockets in the last suit you wear! ****************************************

My take are 1) B- reason being that to carry is parallel with to move. and since is past tense hence cannot be a. 2) B - am kinda confused b/w B and E, but chose B over E cause as far as rem it is usually used for a specific noun say a thing. 3) Im cofused b/w D and E and wud choose D cuase E sounds a little awkward with the author thing in the end.A,B,C are out as it wrongly compares the Pulitzer awards with the author and not the noble prize.

ok.. i'll start in reverse order...
25) b) no parallelism. What is 'more' for ? treelife or anthropoids... unclear... ruled out c) meaning changed. logical contradiction. d) adapting/adaptation... no parallelism e) too wordy and awkward so a) is our ans...
24) b) logical contradiction. c) e) 'increase' is singular, so sentences with 'have' out left d) and a).. i am confused... but 'more than any OTHER single element' appeals more to me than 'any single element'... hence a)
20) Well, yet another of those gmat idioms.... its 'COMPENSATE FOR'... so choice has to be b/w B & D ... and i am so godamn confused here??: .. i knw ur ans says B but somehow i am not convinced and feel its D... gosh! i dunno.. whatever... someone plz get this one clarified!
