Buy a ManhattanGmat book. You'll get 6 of the best and toughest CATs with awesome feedback.
Hi Neo,
I have a softcopy of Manhattan SC. I am planning to buy Kaplan Gmat 800. After seeing your post, I am a bit confused. What would you suggest Manhattan or gmat800. Do u get some practice tests when u buy gmat800 ? I have to get any/both of the books to Saudi. Already bought OG11 a month back.
There's no CAT or even CD with Kaplan GMAT 800.But the book is awesome. It won't waste your time with silly questions like the OG does. I found the Manhattan CR and RC booklets pretty useless too. How's the ManhattanGmat book?
I have 2 soft copies ot Manhattan gmat guide - one with 125 pages and other with 75. I'm using the first one. Its very good. Has helped me a lot. I am using it as my primary resource for SC. Now I am looking for some good practice tests. Can u help me on that ?
Can someone please tell me if the questions in the OG_SC(11th ed) is same as in OG (11th ED) book? Actually I am not getting the full book in the market, in the mean time I have the OG_SC....can I start with that?
While browsing thru various threads, i found out that people are using some free GMAT FLTs available on score800.com. But I am not able to find these tests on score800.com. does anybody have any idea where i can dowload these tests from? Please provide me with the relevant link, if possible.
hi all, i am badly in search of some ebooks or tests from where i can practice even in office hours. someone please suggest or send some links from where i can download such stuff and continue mi preparation even in office.
Feeling very happy to be back on PG after a gap of arnd 2 yrs.......
Cursing myself as i couldnt comp the gmat classes nor did i appear for it....so last attempt to crack was flop... :-(
Was planning (plans still on) to do 1 yr mba after gaining a work exp of 5+ yrs......passed out in my (bcom in 2001) mca in 2004.....and targetting 2010 for the course....did a bit r & d on univ options....ofcourse iima pgpx tops followed by isb, ceibs, sauder, manchester, lancaster, cranfield etc....i know its seems funny to have list of univ with no prep n gmat score....lol
starting fresh.....and more commited n serious.....back for your help
Last time (in 2005) i had enrolled for gmat coaching at jayant pai (dadar)....as am (n was) in no touch with maths n english basic...found it very difficult to grasp and be with the rocket speed of pai's classes..specially maths....he teaches more faster than light speed i guess....with his own attitude and assumptions....only self study helped me to a more better extend.....though i had used his limited but good materials for preparatn....would recomm pai only for 1 wo needs thoda brush ups types.....otherwise def not.
In last few days enquired at ims (25k), sharpmind (21k + taxes) & careerlauncher.....again am bit doubtful on thr words and pace with which they would go...everyone talks goody goody now though.....it would be helpful if anybody can suggest some real good tutor / thier exp at these listed institutes for gmat prep.
went thru few but very helpful links of PG (shekhar, psychodementia etc)......but couldnt compile and come to conclusion.......
Would be really grateful to you if you guys can clear.......
1. is it okay if i study on my own taking the books as suggested and going thru them in the some order step by step. I had read on few blogs/forum tht classes help by the way of tips n tricks they explain in classroom; would i miss all those if i do a self study?
2.how to start - quant first or verbal or RC which one ??? and with which book ? whts d ideal order to start? which book is better for which all topics?
3. how to schedule the test - topic wise and complete ones etc and the final date to be taken after how much prep time in general.
4.what r jj and those 1000 sc etc, and when to start with those and other things. And whr do we get this powerprep ? which all links/sites would be helpful.
any other valuable input is very much appreciated
I know it might b repetition for u guys.....but it would really b very helpful for me or anyother naive person looking for.
hi all, i am badly in search of some ebooks or tests from where i can practice even in office hours. someone please suggest or send some links from where i can download such stuff and continue mi preparation even in office.
Now what do u expect pal? An ebook that looks like a Java or .NET IDE to everyone else and secretly recites GMAT gyan into your ears?Couldn't resist!:D
T For ebooks, you can go to esnips.com and just search for "gmat" If you don't find any,let us know.
And yeah, by the way, you can read these books in office, home, or even on your way to office and way back home (if you can read any book that is) It is still 2008.We have books and then we have ebooks. There's nothing that you can read only at office but not anywhere else.
Can someone please tell me if the questions in the OG_SC(11th ed) is same as in OG (11th ED) book?
Both are Same.If you want to get the OG Book Xerox Copy you can check out Laxmi Xerox Centre,Mumbai. They do courier book to your destination. The Xerox Cost you around Rs 400.
Would have been great yaar had u given me some links to ebooks or CDs... Let me know if u can help...
Hi My Jaan, Since we all work in offices whereall essential Gmail to all sharing sites are blocked(Pagalguy not under radar),difficult to provide links. But Esnips will be able to get you most of your essential Gmat stuffs, but do the search with patience. Then go to the beginning of this forum, there you can find a post from which you can dowload some Gmat Flash files&other; stuff to your PC Directly. If you need a Xerox Copy of GMAT OG ,you can get it for Rs 400@Laxmi Xerox:cool1:

Yes,Its true that some class gives you Tips & tricks.Especially stuff like Vedic Maths to shortcuts to do Faster,Bcos time plays a crucial role in Gmat. But if you r confidant on your fundas & know how to do those sums faster, then i would suggest you to do a self study,But seeing your profile(B.com).I think it will be better if you could enroll in some Gmat Classes
2.how to start - quant first or verbal or RC which one ??? and with which book ? whts d ideal order to start? which book is better for which all topics?
See there are Three Main Parts in Gmat- Essay,Quants,Verbal.Under Essay you have Analysis of Issue & Analysis of Argument.Under Quants you have Problem Solving &Data; Sufficiency.Under Verbal you have RC(Reading Comprehension),SC(Sentence Correction),CR(Critical Reasoning). So this the Basic Structure of Gmat
Now you can start with anything of your choice. When you r beginning your studies OG(The Official Guide 11th Edition) is sufficient. Then you can go for Princeton & finally Kaplan 800.
3. how to schedule the test - topic wise and complete ones etc and the final date to be taken after how much prep time in general.
I didnt understand the first part of your question. But i think 3 months is more than adequate to give your Gmat
4.what r jj and those 1000 sc etc, and when to start with those and other things. And whr do we get this powerprep ? which all links/sites would be helpful.
You can get that in Esnips.com.Type "Gmat" & get those stuff.Actually they are taken from the site Scoretop.com.You can get power prep from MBA.COM
any other valuable input is very much appreciated
Patience & spending qualitative time in doing research about Gmat will surely ripe benifits.Just by putting a lengthy query, you will get replied by ppl.But your own way of research will surely give more fruitful results.Bcos what i have answered are mostly discussed in the begining &middle; of this forum. If you dont have patience to go through those 122 pages. Then you r losing something."Anything which we get easily will not stay with us for ever".So search spend some time everyday from researching Colleges to Gmat Prep Stuffs. Then see Results.
If you are looking for Gmat classes where Both English &Maths; Classes are taught Stuent Centric Way.You can look @IMFS or also called as K.P Singh classes in Mumbai

Manhattan Sentence correction is preferred for SC. visit www.esnips.com and search GMAT, u get lots of downloads. This should complete material collection for GMAT. My request is dont spend so much time on material collection, read the books what ever u get first and proceed to another.
Would appreciate if someone could help me.......... hope this helps.
