depends on how strong you with maths and english.. go to www.mba.com .. download the free practice software and give a practice test.. you'll know exactly whr u stand and u can then take it up from there.. 😃 good luck!

hi !rs is fine...but more CAT oriented...I want sme exclusive GMAT math basics....smething like Manhattan is for verbal.... are there any more suggestions ?

well, i had bought MaxPrep for GMAT frm IMS..the quant book in it is pretty good if u want the basics...or else, if u cud lay ur hands on any Basic Reference Material of CAT by IMS, the quant book wud suit u...i hv no idea about other books..

I need the Kaplan test soft copy! I have a CD ,but damn its corrupted ( its not original) and m sitting in Belgium worrying how to get it! If anyone has the softcopy of the test, please let me know! Its urgent!! Thanks in advance!!!

  1. ok people yes wrote da test yest......wantd to post yest only but was too tired but xcitd nevetheless.....k cuttin da crap....its turned out to be a 710...49 math n 37 verbal.....kaafi happy its made me coz i finally realisd dat regular studies(even for a mnth n a half ) do pay off......wil give a detailed experience if u guys want me to....considerin almost al da questions have already been answered by da biggies ( ya da 770 people.....thanks a ton al of u....n ajayreddy thanx for helping me with the Manhattan link)....but thers 1 thing i wanna tell u guyz.....thought i was doin fine in the math section n then the 9 th question killd me....nt becoz it was tough but coz it was ridiculously eazy....damn i almost died n thought dat yeah baby dis is it....the end !!!....but stil decided to finish da fight....the score was a very very pleasant surprise....guess da best after 12th boards....:).....n ya my practice tests weren't very encoragin either....but kept goin nevertheless....

attn all puys in mumbai :

i have 2 OG 11 books, a Kaplan Premier Edition 2007 ed book (with CD, not yet registered online, so u can register and take advantage of the 6 months validity) and a kaplan 800 book...all BRAND NEW unused..actually, my bro had bought it and he intended to give GMAT but he's dropped the plan now since he's switched to a better job...anyone interested can PM me..i want to dispose off the books soon...so i m ready to sell them at cheaper rates than market prices...

Hi Guys
i m retaking the GMAT on 29th Oct...my earlier score was 640/800 (q46, v33)..awa 5/6....

looking for a score of 700+ this time...want to practice the full length tests as many times as possible..i have been able to dig out the following resources...

GMAT power prep- test1 & 2
ETS paper based tests
800score.com sectional practice test..5 tests in QA & verbal..

Also i have the GMAT prep CD..however since i have already taken it once..the questions keep repeating ..even after reinstalling...can anybody please help as to how i can get fresh Qs...otherwise my score will be skewed & wont reflect the actual test...

Also can anybody refer any other sources...for practicing the full length tests..

U can get SC from Manhattan from Sterling Book Depot or Book Zone in CST Mumbai, both book stores are a minute away from the McDonald's Store in Mumbai

Hi buddy,

let me offer my 2 cents on these,

#1: - Kaplan Premier Edition (with CD) v/s Kaplan 800

Kaplan premier edition offers topicwise study material along with a good number of excercises both in Verbal & Quant. the CD contains all the same excercises that you may find in Kaplan Verbal & Quant workbook.

so by buying Kaplan Premier Edition with CD book u will cover excerises in Kaplan Verbal & Kaplan Quant as well. so u need not buy Kaplan Verbal & Quant separately.

Kaplan 800 is a very good book inorder to gain a strong hold on ur preparation. This book has got some of the toughest questions and excercises for practise in GMAT.

This book contains a very condensed study material but it explains in detail the solution to every problem in the book. e.g. if the answer to an RC question is suppose A), it would also explain why A is the correct answer plus it also explains why B)C)D)& E) are not correct.

This book is highly recommended especially when ur attempting GMAT for the 2nd time.

#2 - Manhattan SC v/s SC 1000

Manhattan SC is the BESTbook for SC preparation. Its SC pdf is available freely in PG. u can search for gaurav200x posts in pg or check for Rajat Nda's blog. u will get the pdf version of Manhattan SC there.

SC 1000 is a compilation of SC questions from a variety of books including questions from OG 10. we also have CR 1000 and RC 1000 modules. its available freely in pdf version across pg, esnips etc.

but the problem is there has been no proper solution booklet to find the answer explanations for the same. so u can find answer explanations through discussion links at www.scoretop.com
so, both Manhattan SC and SC 1000 are both available freely on the web. u can also look for RC 1000, CR 1000 and PS 1000 too.

Hi ,

i have already given GMAT .. scored an avg 680/800 .

booked a date on oct 25th to write it again .

I did not study from Kaplan , Manhattan Sc or SC 1000 etc . I just studied from OG last time . This time i am planning to study from more resources .

My confusion :
There are 2 books for Kaplan : kaplan 800 ( without CD ) . The other is Kaplan Premier program 2008 edition ( with CD )

Which book should i refer from out of these 2 ??

Also For SC :
Manhattan Sc would be better or SC 1000 .

any pointers would be greatly appreciated !!

Thanks for the link.. Seems like a nice bunch of questions.. However, am jus wondering if they are real GMAT questions...?? or from any particular book..?? I've never come across the term GMAT Sets before, so maybe I've missed something.. please let me know their significance..!!

Hi Suyash,

These sets are quite representative of the GMAT. The best part of these questions are that they are a fresh pool of questions.

Practise the ones from 20 to 31 for sure and time yourself on each sections. Analyze the answers properly. Analyzing where you are going wrong will help you improve yourself.

First of all thank you guys for posting those study-materials! It was of great help....
These days while i was practising math, i realised that i am losing out in work-time related problems and so wanted some more practise. If you guys have any doc or pdf having these problems could you please post it here? it would be of great help..thanks in advance!:)
