hey bhoomika... i think it is ok to give your GMAT to apply for Indian Universities..
you can apply for ISB, GLIM and a couple of other universities..
If you are definite that you will not leave India then you could prepare for your XAT. Your chances are better than CAT.

I have a slightly unusual query. I'll be giving GMAT in Jan, but currently I am prepping for CAT.
Now, considering the way CAT is going, I am thinking of prepping for the Verbal section of CAT using GMAT material. I am already at a fairly decent level ( had cracked CAT in 2006 but failed at the interviews ), but I want to take my preps to a higher level ( read : GMAT level )
Which is the best GMAT book for this purpose ( I need in ONLY for Verbal ) ?

Also, u cud practice the 1000 series.

i'm taking the gmat in abt six weeks time... i sort of booked the test a month before, and then work became pretty hectic and i wasnt able to do any prep ... considering the short time i have wat strategy wud u guys recommend me to follow? i took a diag at tpr and got 590... math 41 and eng 29... for me scoring 700 wud be a gud score... please advise...

2. Critical Reasoning & RC GMAT prep guide
3. Word Translations G P G
There are also 2 separate ones on Critical reasoning & RC. Do these have the same content as book no. (2) or more ?
By K-800 you mean Kaplan 800, right ? And whats the 1000 series ? And hows The Princeton Review ?
Also, there wont be a chance that these books would be way above my current level, right ?

GMAT Finally done with on 2nd August. Got a score of 760. 😁 When I went into my room that evening, I saw all the GMAT material lying around the room. My laptop's desktop too was half filled with GMAT related material. I was filled with a sudden realization. I would never have to use this material ever again. This score is valid for 5 years now. 
I saw the tons and tons (figuratively ofcourse) of GMAT material lying around. I had utilized my office printer quite well. :satisfie: For every soft copy I have a printout. The material served me well. I do not want to demean it now by throwing it away or giving it to a raddiwala from where it might make way to a vendor who will use the pages for bhel puri. No I dont want that to happen.
I want to give the material away. Everything I have on my PC will be written to a cd. The cd and the material should go to someone who will make equal use of it.
I stay in Borivali in Mumbai and my office is at Goregaon in Mumbai. But I can easily come till Bandra on my bike (on a day without rain). Some might wonder why not by train. Well, ever since I got my bike, public transport (specifically trains) repels me. Autorickshaws are still ok.
Please send in a 200 word essay saying why you should get my material. 😃 Kidding, kidding!! Looking at all the application forms to colleges I just am not able to think beyond essays right now. Anyways, PM me whoever needs the material. The deciding factor will be how close you can come to Borivali or Goregaon so that I dont have to travel much.

For verbal sentence correction u can start with Manhattan SC guide...
For CR and RC, u can start with Kaplan
As of maths, I had started with the IMS notes for maths....
Once u finish the basics u can start with the OGs
wrote one of the 5 mock gmat tests from 800score.com today and scored
q: 50 - 97%
v: 36 - 67%
But the combined overall score is not to be found anywhere . How do i find out how much i scored on the 800 scale.
