GMAT Prep Material 2023

hello everyone,
firstly i must thank all of u to have to have written so vividly here on this thread. i am to appear in october first week for GMAT and this thread has certainly given me an insight as to how i should go about with my preparations......

what i have gathered is:

Start with Kaplan Premier edition and OG 11
followed with OG verbal and Quant AND manhattan SC
then 1000 series and finally to hit on .....would do Kaplan 800

Besides this ofcourse will do the required mocks......

have around 3 and a half months for my preparations!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does anyone have any contrary statement with regard to my preparation..........please do respond

Right. I have read through the thread and firstly, thank you every one for providing so much useful information on study materials.

I have a a few queries:

I want to practise a lot of maths first and then go indepth into the English section. My english is strong which means that I can really trump in the section with proper effort despite the section being tough.

However, as maths is comparatively easier, I do not want to play easy with maths. I want to give it proper effort but there seems to be a lack of proper maths material floating around. What stuff should I go through to make sure than my maths (quants section) is steel solid? Please explain in detail.

Another aspect.. I saw people mentioning regarding the JJ sets earlier. I guess that would still be an invaluable resource? If some one has them (there are 30 JJs of each of the two sections if I am not wrong?), please pm me.

Thanks.

I am done with Kaplan 800 and found this book very helpful. But I still cannot gather enough confidence to start with OG as I feel that OG should be done in the last. Can any body mail(I cannot access shared area, company restictions) me .pdf of pinceton review as I feel that this book is must.

Ashish, kindly remove ur id from ur post.
POsting ids is not allowed in pg.

Regarding Priceton Review-

I'm also a new entrant for GMAT.AFAIK Kaplan Premiere Edition is
better than Princeton Review.

Hope this helps.

have u gone thro posts of Baba Yaga,Iday,aim-wsc and others.
They dont stress on Princeton Review much.May be i'm wrong also.

your study material list is quite ambitious for two months, considering, in addition you would also go for practice tests, may be 1000 SC, CR questions as well, a little for AWA, then likes of Spidey's Notes and Manhattan Maths archive might also make the cut.

1. Manhattan SC is an absolute must, if OG is bible this is a gospel, Princeton review Verbal workout (if you have time). Also go through a book like Arco for essays, a superficial skimming should do.

2.this is already answered

3. book number 3 and 6 you might get on net, esnips and 4shared have them(go to website, type OG and kaplan in the search field and then download). rest, i have never heard of soft copies. OG 10 soft copy for verbal part is available, OG 11 for RC, SC and quant is present on web. ebay and amazon should get you other books

Thats all 😃

Sheshadri,
I agree with the fact that e-mail id shouldn't be posted at forum..but I have no choice as I cannot access any shared area.

Hi,

Does anybody have the soft copy of OG 10 Data sufficiency questions? Please PM me.

thanks

Hi,
I need OG 11 - PS and Ds related stuff.
If sb has them, can you please PM me. Or else, are these available on internet.

Thanks in advance.

I have the following prep materials with me

1) OG 11 - hard copy
2) Kaplan CD ( Dunno if itz latest. The copyright mentions 2004)
3) Princeton Verbal - downloaded from esnips
4) Kaplan Grammer guide - downloaded from esnips

In addition I have few section tests (word documents).

The Kaplan CD i have contains just 4 full lenght tests and along with Powerprep, I only have 6 practice tests (CBT).

I feel 6 tests aren't sufficient. I want to know the number of practice tests taken up on an average by those who score 700+.

I am thinking of buying Princeton Review Book with CD. Is it worth spending ? Or can I download the CBTs ?

i gave about 6 - 8 tests. why are you not counting GMAT Prep tests in that list?
you could also get 1 test of Cambridge. I think it is fairly freely available on the net.

Try for some full length paper tests that are also available online. These are actual GMAT tests retired by ETS.

Cheers

Hey All,
I started giving mock GMAT tests recently. I have the following mocks:

1. Powerprep - 2 tests
2. Gmatprep - 2 tests
3. Kaplan - 4 tests
4. Score800 - 1 test
5. Cambridge Review - 1 test
6. Princeton - 4 tests

That makes it a total of 14 tests. I have already given 4 out of the 14 above. Which leave me with 10 more. I have been getting a score of 720 around but want to improve it to atleast 750. I still have atleast a month before my GMAT. The last 2 weeks I would like to give one test every alternate day.

I am thinking of buying some practice tests. Which tests would you recommend to me?

Thanks.
