I have come across people mentioning jj's,mj's can someone take the paing in explaining what that stuff mean.
It will be of great help if someone can point out their source along with GMAT Sets was on the lookout for them for quite some time..

not really sure whether OG 11 is thr on the net ... tried searching it down few months bak but to no avail .... try out esnips and also orkut communities fr links ....

well tests should be taken only after u r relatively comfortable with the GMAT structure. U can take a prelim test jst to knw whr u stand at the moment and wats ur weak areas .... fr that u can go to mba.com and download the PowerPrep software ... its the same prog. which u will get once u register fr GMAT ... but they send it pretty late so its better u load it nw and practice frm thr ....... u can also take prelim test online frm princeton or kaplan ....

Once u r confident ... u can move to comprehensive tests of princeton/kaplan etc ..........

I would suggest you to have a 'mentor' during ur GMAT journey .... it cud be a person or a forum like Pagalguy .... it helps immensely .... can say frm personal experience

vjj and mjj stand fr verbal jungle juice and maths jungle juice ..... they are basically a set of qs which are released and updated frequently by the scoretop forum. Most of the qs there are from real GMAT and hence technically speaking illegal to use ....you can subscribe for them but i guess they hv changed the name ... nt too sure ... search fr it in the forum ....

GMAT Sets are also sumthng similar .... jjs are helpful if you are well prepared ....

jj's and spidey's notes are the 2 thngs about which u will hear the most during your GMAT journey as they hv attained a cult status amongst GMAT aspirants

Hi Pguys,

I am new to this Forum, i am glad to be part of this forum. There are some very good info here.

I am starting my GMAT Preparation, it's long time since i am out of college and reading books, i have around 10 yrs experience in IT of which around 7 yrs in US, is there any one preparing for GMAT after this gap ? I am aiming for 700+ score.

I think i need to start from basics due to this long gap, what do you guys say ? Can i still start with Kaplan and OG ? I have IMS Material that i bought in India when i was there in 2004, is it good to start with basics ?

Hey Ingrid...
There is no correct time really for GMAT other than you should give it at a time so that you get enough time to apply to all colleges of your choice. Most colleges end admissions applications by Jan. Please check out individuals websites for the deadlines.
In competitive exams practice is the study. Just read theory and rules never help unless you encounter actual questions where you have to apply the rules. 1000 SCs and CRs have actual questions for GMAT exams. So your study should include solving these. But OG is the way to start.

hv taken the individual session tests frm Kaplan CD, first complete test frm Kaplan CD (scored 540, i knw its nt good at all) and the online test frm Kaplan site (scored 640).

I have downloaded study material frm all the places but nw am a bit confused...

am takin GMAT in first week of July but i feel am nt on the rt track wen it comes to preparin....

I'll take all the Kaplan CD tests n gmatprep tests..... but is there anythg more i can do?

i want 700+ score.... shall i go for Kaplan 800 nw ?

Kaptests are gud and challenging stuff.. but in no way any indicator of ur standing.. Though 540 is a bit low even for a Kaptest, but in any case u've lots of time at ur disposal..
Yes. I'd suggest u to go for Kap800 at this stage... It'll build ur confidence to take on the toughest stuff and once u r done with this, the actual GMAT Qs start looking easier..( It's like our enterance exam days. Preparation for JEE made state exams Qs look pretty ordinary)

Be sure to finish off all Kaptests well b4 ur G-day, coz it Kaptests can prove to be devastating for ur confidence... I'd suggest that in the final lap of ur preps, ( I mean the last 2 weeks) just do the real GMATstuff.. OG11 revision, Qs from OG10, Even I'd suggest u to save the GMATprep tests for the final round.. Taking kaptests at that time may force u to reschedule the date unnecessarily..

PS:: I'm no GMAT veteran..:neutral: My Gday is on Jun13.. So none of the above stuff has been tested yet.

This is Santosh. I am actually pretty fine in the English part , but Math is my area of concern. I am assuming that you are not taking any coaching . get any high school English Grammar book ( like English by Wren & Martin)... This will be of much help if you are to start from the basics , which is a correct way to go about . Specially for Sentence correction , which is a Major part of the Verbal Section knowing the basics will do you a world of good . I have alreday taken 2 months of coaching and will be taking the GMAT soon. Any more queries you are free to e-mail me at ********
