Maybe this should go into the Gyaan Samelan thread. Maybe I just might write an article and put all of you'll as the authors
what/where is that!?!? I'd be glad to contribute :)
How does One start Preparing for the GMAT??
From all my readings, I believe we start by taking PowerPrep/GMATPrep. Then you analyse your weaknesses and identify what are the weak areas.
Then you proceede to solve OG10, halfway through which you take the second PowerPrep/GMATPrep. Once you are done with OG, you then start with Kaplan800,the 1000 series,.... any other material that you might have.
So far so good?
that one is so diff from my prep strategy. end of day - u gotta figure out someting with which u r comfortable with :)
Me thinks why re-invent the wheel?? Psychodementia did a damn good job in this
I have all the material i need, all i gotta do is buckle down to some serious work . This Saturday i'll have my first PowerPrep score.
Like KetanM told me, once ye commit to something, there's a greater commitment to finishing it
Went thru the doc. It is basically a note on how he went about his preps. There are many things over there which i did differently and i know others did differently. I dont wanna get into them as it might confuse u. The core of the discussion is still the same: strategise & slog
if u think what he says will work for u - u must go ahead. before u start preparation, it is important for u to chart out a detailed schedule. The strategy might vary from one individual to another but the slogging is essential. come what may, stick to the schedule as Arun had mentioned.
Hope u do well :) As usual - ping us in case u r in need of gyan
I am taking GMAT on October 3rd .I have gone through OG 11 and 10 and am now planning to go through Kaplan 800 and badly in need to some extra prep stuf. I came across some posts on Monthly JJs here. Need your valuable inputs on the same. Pls let me know your views on the usefulness of the JJ in GMAT prep and if its too late for me to subscribe the same. ? If I am right there are 4 sets of questions which I guess will come to 78*4 = 312 questions will cost me around 20$. Is it worth the money you spend ?
well, i have heard abt paid subscription in scoretop.com.. i believe the vip membership wher u can access the gmat sets and monthly jj's.. can somebody throw some light on it.. as to how effective it is and payment mode and all.. awaiting your repsonse..

Hi guys, I am a newbie.. I am planning to take up GMAT this yr end. I hve presently registered into scoretop .. Got some material.. My initial planning was to start off with OG.. However, OG is out of stock in Blore... Hence i managed to download some stuff from enips.. wht i find in the pdfs is the list of questions.. I can't start off solving the questions as i need to brush up the concepts..(formulaes etc.. ) So is the case with verbal.. Need some basics.. Frankly spking, i hve not seen the hard copy of the OG till now and i do not hve any idea of its contents.. Does it start off with basics or it has only questions? someone pls guide me as in how should i plan for my prep..
Hi, I would appreciate if someone could provide links for Saahil's notes & Spidey's notes for GMAT.
Regards Leo
I have provided it in my blog: askpsycho.blogspot.com. Just do a CTRL F and find where those words are you will be taken to that link. I am too lazy to do that right now

Cheerz, Sudha.
Hi Sudha,
I don't want to scare you but you seem to be set on a path of destruction. Okay so I do dramatize my statements a bit
On a more serious note, I think you will end up being confused, bored and worst of all underconfident if you go through multiple resource available on the net. A better approach would be to have a plan, talk to someone who has "been there done that" and ensure you are on the straight and narrow regarding the GMAT prep. No point wasting time doing stuff you rather not touch with a ten foot pole.
Regarding availability of OG 11 in Bangalore. I presumed you have checked out Gangaram's on MGRoad. Also check out Crosswords (Forum/Residency rd) and the book store at Manipal center. Im sure you will be getting a fresh copy soon.
