Knowledge of an ancient language is essential for reading original ancient documents. Most ancient historical documents, however, have been translated into modern languages, so scholars of ancient history can read them for their research without learning ancient languages. Therefore, aspirants to careers as ancient history scholars no longer need to take the time to learn ancient languages. The argument is vulnerable to criticism on which one of the following grounds? (A) It concludes that something is never necessary on the grounds that it is not always necessary. (B) A statement of fact is treated as if it were merely a statement of opinion. (C) The conclusion is no more than a restatement of the evidence provides as support of that conclusion. (D) The judgment of experts is applied to a matter in which their expertise is irrelevant. (E) Some of the evidence presented in support of the conclusion is inconsistent with other evidences provided.
My take is A. As it has been stated that "Most ancient historical documents" so which does not mean that all have been translated so at any point of time we may need those which has not been translated.
Sorry if my explanation does not make sense as i have started now only to reason the answers.
Folks - just wanted to give everybody here a heads-up - Once we move to the new forum, I will be closing this thread down. It's anyway gotten way too long.
Once we move to the new section, what I'd like you to do is create a thread for each problem that you want to discuss. The title should follow the format - "Source" "Type" "Question Number" "Misc information" So thread titles will now look like "OG12 DS #247" or "TIME PS #7 Book5Pg38"
Why I am doing this - In this thread alone there are a ton of good problems that most likely nobody is ever going to read because it's buried too deep. And that's a serious waste. The new format allows somebody to more efficiently use the tags to find a particular solution rather than reposting the question.
Mr. Janeck: I dont believe Stevenson will win the election for governor. Few voters are willing to elect a businessman with no political experience to such a responsible public office. Ms. Siuzdak: Youre wrong. The experience of running a major corporation is a valuable preparation for the task of running a state government. M. Siuzdaks response shows that she has interpreted Mr. Janecks remark to imply which of the following? (A) Mr. Janeck considers Stevenson unqualified for the office of governor. (B) No candidate without political experience has ever been elected governor of a state. (C) Mr. Janeck believes that political leadership and business leadership are closely analogous. (D) A career spent in the pursuit of profit can be an impediment to ones ability to run a state government fairly. (E) Voters generally overestimate the value of political experience when selecting a candidate.

PLS GIV A SHORT EXPLANATION AS WELL
A seems to be the best possible answer..
Ms S counters Mr J's comments by believing that he reflects the opinion of the people he has mentioned in his argument. So she feels that Mr J believes that Stevenson is not qualified for the governor's post...

Statement: "Two months ago, it was announced that Central Government pensioners would get dearness relief with immediate effect but till date, banks have not credited the arrears." - A statement from a Pensioners' Forum.
Assumptions:
Most of the banks normally take care of the pensioners.
Two months time is sufficient for the government machinery to move and give effect to pensioners.
I just started off with my CR preparation. The resources for CR which I am using are Manhattan GMAT and OG 10, 11 and 12. I started off with Find the Assumption questions. On an average I can score 3 to 4 out of 10 questions correctly. This kind of score is demotivating me and I wonder if i have the capability to give GMAT. Before giving up my preparation I thought I can take some good advice from you guys. I wanted to know if there are some good techniques to crack the CR section and what is the right way to study the CR section. I am pretty sure there would be. I would really appreciate your help.

D seems to be the best possible answer.
Because, Ms.S responded as '...running a major corporation is a valuable preparation..' - This explanation is pointing towards '..to elect a businessman with no political experience..' Which means, she interpreted Mr.J to be against election of a businessman without a political expereince.
A is not correct because, Stevenson is qualified to compete for the office of governor, but it is just that he may not win.
