how many will be called for GD/PI through CMAT ?

I received the mail yestrday and also replied to it... 
One thing to note here is that..GIM have'nt asked for the AIR or Rank.
So, I feel that the scores can be used as a cut-off factor while giving calls.
P.S There are around 400-500 Candidates having the same Score.
However, there are also chances that GIM authorities might also look for the AIR in the PDf List..But, that would be tedious and they would have mentioned it, they had required in their mail itself.
Anyways, me Sitting @ AIR 5721 with 180/400 CMAT Score...have little hopes of getting a Call this season....

If yes, then wouldnt it be pointless to conduct cmat GD/PI..

3. XAT Results will be out by the end of next week. But not all 240 will be taking up the seats. There will be a waitlist movement. So the candidates selected on the basis of CMAT gd/pi will be adjusted in those seats.
4. And for info, there is always a huge waitlist movement due to applicants having multiple calls. The waitlist movement continues till June.

There has been slight confusion regarding all these since xat list coming out well before..

I'm a C-certificate holder of NCC Navy.
I don't have any work experience. I had a decent GD and a good PI.. What are my chances ??? Is it possibe to get in with such a low XAT score??? 13 out of the 14 in my GD batch had work ex. Seniorssssss

u hv very good acads... so you can make up for not having work ex... to some extent....
they might hv asked u.. ur cat score... bt only ur xat score wud be considered......
n many candidates... with a score similar to urs.... converted last year....
so... nothing to worry about...

Ya I've done well in others. Its jus that since XAT score weightage is more I'm worried.

1. Friends why only 4 people were called through ATMA last year.
2. How come those 4 were within 97.xx.. Logically if cut off was 97.xx atleast >100 people should have been called.BTW i do not know the no of people who appeared for ATMA.
3. If suppose i get the call is producing Leaving Certificate an essential requirement. Actually i have left the firm in my bond period(Dec 2011) and am in talks with the HR to reduce the bond amount. It will take one more month to get the same cleared. Actually some of the institutes where i applied has considered me as a fresher because of this. Rest all like joining, pay slips i have. I want to have everything possible to convert my GIM any how.....
4. Further i have nothing to do now so will be taking CFA/FRM for DEC 2012. Will it be difficult for me to clear those exam if i convert GIM....I Know its long way to go for that but keeping my hopes high.
Were the methodology adopted by GIM for ATMA last Year is same as for CMAT this Year(i.e results for XAT coming earlier than CMAT results..
My Hopes are fading seeing the percentages in the first two bracks of the poll.......Hope i make the cut.

If only 4 people were called thru ATMA with >97 percentile, that should not raise any questions in ur mind...suppose the ATMA cutoff was 97 for GIM and only 4 candidates above that had actually applied to GIM....so the college will call only them na :)
AFAIK there are students in the current batch of GIM who have cleared CFA while studyn in 1st year/2nd year

Dharini Palani SaysYa I've done well in others. Its jus that since XAT score weightage is more I'm worried.
1. Even though the XAT Weightage is 50%, the real difference is not much.
2. AFAIK, the xat marks you score is converted out of 50. So ultimately, it's a difference of only few marks between the applicants with highest and lowest xat %ile.

1. ATMA had very few test takers. ATMA was scheduled on the same day in which SNAP was scheduled. Accordingly, number of applicants to GIM Through ATMA were very less. Exact number : Even i don't know. College also doesn't reveal.
2. As already explained, only 4 people were above the cut off %ile and hence only 4 calls.
3. If you get the call, the leaving certificate won't be compulsory right now. You can bring only the Joining Letter and pay Slip. But you need to give that when you register at the college in June.
4. If you join any B School, you will def get busy with your classes, assignments etc. But still there are people who qualify CFA/FRM etc with their hard work and dedication. So i see no reason why you cannot.
5. CMAT has nothing to do with what was done for ATMA Last year. I have explained many times here that the number of applicants called through CMAT will be purely based on Merit. No seats are fixed either for XAT or for CMAT.
