sorry to disturb u all again... i hv a query regarding my work ex... my gd/pi is on 29th feb. As it is the last working day of the month: i'll get my pay slip for feb on that day only... around 9 am...
but my gd/pi is at 8.30... this means that I cannot show the work-ex for the month of feb... one month may not be a substantial period(from scoring pt of view), but i dont want to miss out , even on 0.1 marks....
is there any alternative through which i can show my work-ex for month of feb?
PS : i cannot get a work certificate as im still working with the organization

Dont worry about that. If asked about it, You may mention that you are currently working. A thorough scrutiny of documents will be done once you join the institute.
Just want to add that you can also take your office ID card to show that your are still working with the company.

Was going through previous years' GD-PI experience threads, seems like everyone who is called for the GD faces the PI as well, I mean the net marking is inclusive of all...GD Written & PI..no gradual filteration Or the no. of candidates called for GD will gradually get narrowed down?
It is true, everybody undergoes both GD-PI on the same day. This is much more convenient than calling the candidates twice, once for GD and once for PI.

1. If you have not yet received the original score card of XAT, get the print out of the soft copy of your XAT score card downloaded from Net. That will do.
2. CV is not compulsory. But it would be good if you can make one and bring it.
I have two years of experience, Along with the experience letter, do I need to get any reference letters? I have misplaced my 10th certificate and can not reproduce it on such short notice, but I have a notarized true copy. Will it do?

Then i get to choose the electives right? could u give me some gyan on Major and minor subjects! how many major and minor subjects do i get to select? never had it in our college. and electives are for 15-18 credits.. also can we choose any electives from any stream?

1. You don't need to get any reference letters. The work Ex Letter will suffice. Also get along joining letter and pay slips if you have, else not compulsory.
2. Get the notarized true copy with you. But the 10th certificate will def be required at the time of admissions. So do arrange for a duplicate one before that. For now, it is ok if you bring the notarized one.

1. At GIM, we have a concept of Majors and Minors.
2. You need to specify your Majors and Minors at the start of 2nd Year.
3. You need to take some minimum number of credits of subjects of Majors and Minors.
4. Apart from that, you can choose any electives from any stream.
P.S : Don't worry on this issue now. Focus on converting GIM.
P.P.S : When you reach GIM, you will have a special session from the seniors regarding guidance of choosing electives. We had it few days back.
First of all check your alternate mail id that you may have given. Also check the spam folders. If it is still not there get back to us. We will check with the adm dept if it is possible to send the mail again.

Also I request all call getters to join FB Group for trivial discussions. And let this thread be for GD/PI Discussions.
ok I have noted your ID and will check with the adm dept. On the day of GDPI carry all your marksheets, certificates of work ex and ECA, every bit of paper that you think may be helpful in the PI and the call letter. Also it is better to have a copy of CV also. Generally the panel doesnt ask for it but it is always better to be prepared. Also I would advise you to make a folder with all these documents that you can carry to all the GDPIs. Just dont forget to take out the call letters of other colleges from the folder before you go to any GDPI.

As per the trend of last year, the process is usually :
1. GD - lasts for around 15-25 mins
2. Followed by GD write up- You need to sum up up your GD and write the important points. Thought clarity,content and flow of thought is checked.
3. PI - varies from 10-15 mins to 30-40 minutes from person to person.
4. As soon as your interview is over, you are allowed to go.
5. Weightage for GD/PI : 30% , XAT Score : 50% , Acads : 10% , Work Ex : 10%.
6. Request to check this thread in detail. You will get all details.
