Being a computer science engineer myself, I would suggest you know your project thoroughly. We have a few profs who are highly qualified in the fields of IT and communication. They know their stuff. So you have to know your stuff pretty well if you are gonna mention it or if they ask for it. My final year project was on digital signature. At least you should know the basics of your project. Questions won't be technical but basic gyaan can be asked.

It CANNOT be done. If you want a reschedule it can only be done on 5th or 6th that too you have to travel to Goa. Also you need to have a proper reason for rescheduling.

Hey seniors, what documents do we need to get while coming for GD PI? Do we need to get them attested?

Also what is the procedure of the GD PI?

Hi Seniors!

I have obtained a bona fide letter on company letter head dated today mentioning that I am ".... working for the company since .... "

Just wanted to confirm do I still need to get my first and latest pay-slip along with this letter?

Thanks in Advance!

Hi all,
I am glad to know that there are some aspirants from medical background who are preparing for GD/PI.:D
There are two veterinary doctors in our batch and i am one of them. There is one dentist too.
I had the same apprehensions last year as you guys have, regarding the PI, what to prepare, how much is the chance for a doctor, etc etc...I had an opportunity to talk to one of the seniors in GIM who is an ayurvedic doctor which helped me a lot in preparation.
In my PI, the panel consisted of Prof Ajit Parulekar who has tremendous experience in pharma industry. I was welcomed with the much expected questions like, why does a doctor need MBA? There are lesser doctors than MBAs so why should I select you? Wont it create a problem in the society? etc etc
I had prepared for those question well in advance, because those where the question which i asked myself before deciding to go for MBA.
I was really surprised when the prof asked me veterinary related questions just to check whether I am an expert in my subject because I worked as a Subject Matter Expert in Animal Insurance sector for 3 yrs.
Believe me, there are lots of profs in our college, with huge experience in pharma and health care sector, so they also are well prepared to interview aspirants with medical background.
There is absolutely no need to worry about the chances of doctors in GIM. Its same as that of any other candidate.
For further clarifications or queries don't hesitate to shoot ur questions. I will be glad to help you all.

Original of the following :

1. Xth, XIIth, Graduation Certificates

2. Xth, XIIth, Graduation Marksheets

3. Recent Photo Identity Card

4. Print out of the call letter

5. PEN

6. Proof of any information you filled in the form

7. Proof of Govt Recg Achievement, if any

It won't harm if you have one photo copy as well.

CV is not a compuslory part of the GIM admission process.
But it is advisable to have a copy of your CV at hand.

Try to get the work ex certificate if possible. If not, then joining letter and the pay slips would suffice.

Attesting is not compulsory.

The process is usually :

1. GD - lasts for around 15-25 mins

2. Followed by GD write up- You need to sum up up your GD and write the important points. Thought clarity, content and flow of thought is checked.

3. PI - varies from 10-15 mins to 30-40 minutes from person to person.

As soon as your interview is over, you are allowed to go.

You should be out of the hall in less than 5 hours even if you are the last one to be interviewed.

No, this bona fide letter should be sufficient.

But if pay slip is available with you, you can bring it along.

1. Number of people in one group is approximately 8-10.

2. Usually 2 panelists will be there.

3. Duration for interview can range from 15 to 40 minutes approximately.

4. Some interviews might be stressful also. Depends on panel and situation.

Seniors...How much time does the entire process consume?? I have my Gd/Pi on 28th, 1:30 PM.Have to leave for Mumbai on the same day. Got to plan my travel accordingly.

First, don't have any misconception, you will not be grilled just because you are from IT background. But at the same time since the number of people from IT background is far more than the others, so you may expect some more questions.

Also, how your reasons and purpose are different than other IT people will have an impact on your PI.

You need to justify well as to why are you leaving the job and joining MBA. A good and differentiating answer will get you extra brownie points.

Know well about your job areas, work profile, company and industry, you may expect some questions around that.

There are a few. Some compulsory IT papers and mostly electives in second year. It is not available as major but one can have IT minors.

Some good and reputed IT companies come for placement and offer consulting profiles. As already mentioned by Avinash, the details will be shared once the placement report is published.

Till then, focus on GD/PI. All the best.

first of all, no 'sir' okay..
being fresher doesn't have any kind of negative impact on your chances for getting through...
I personally believe, pharma background is very much in advantage for you because , firstly, lots of pharma/ healthcare companies come to campus and will be looking for people with pharma background too. Secondly lots of professors are having experience in pharma industry. Thirdly, in Goa, there are lots of pharma companies.
Having said that, you have to be very clear on your expectations from MBA. Try to project yourselves as a pharma graduate and brush up a bit of your pharma knowledge as u may be interviewed by professors with pharma background. If you wish to pursue a career in pharma industry, GIM is a good place for you, so be confident about your career objective and give your best shot. Also be prepared for questions like why not healthcare management, why not M pharm, why not hospital management/administration and most importantly why pharma and MBA.
