Do they conduct Group discussion session for their selection process because when i went through their admission procedure on Goa Institute of Management, Goa India, India's premier Management Institute. it said that after shortlisting of the candidates from XAT and cmat scores only a face to face evaluation is conducted ??
As I said it is not really important to know the sector you want to go into. Moreover your future career depends on a lot of factors outside your control. What if you start liking a field other than the one you had planned for, What if you get selected in a company which is not in the sector you like?
These kind of questions may arise.
However as decision to do MBA is a well planned one, you may have some interests that you can mention during the PI. Don't worry much about the cross questions.
Questions are never so technical as even the panel knows that for you it is just an interest and all that you know is from the readings and few other sources. They will not expect you to have in-depth knowledge of technical aspects of any specialization.

Also if i may add,i would like to know is it really important to know which sector would u like to join.Look in my case ,the reason of doing an MBA is that i am intrigued by the business side of things and want top make it big(like a CEO or something) ,bt what if i don't know which specialization i wanna take(although i am more inclined towards operations ) and which sector i wanna go into?
yes it is certainly possible to have such a combo. In fact there are many people in the batch passing out this year who have the same combo.

@ Avinash: i have the same doubt.. i do remember how my project works and the details but subjects not so much.. with 4+ work experience will they question us on our grad subjects ?
Also another doubt , do we have to fill any online form or something mentioning our details ?
Also whats its the total intake this year ? with the new campus ? last yr it shows 230.

Hi Supraja,
Be prepared for questions on ur work ex. As u have a huge work ex, u might nt be asked about acads, but u never knw! so better be prepared with 1-2 subjects and some general ques on acads so that they dont come as bouncers at u if at all asked!

Yes the final list is out and emails are being sent in a phased manner. Till now the cutoff is 77%ile.
Dont feel low. You may have some other calls. Prepare well and convert them.

on the website it is written that for tution fee waiver and freeship scheme one shall hv 2 submit along with their APPLICATION FORM a certificate certifying the family income from the competent authority for the purpose.
does the APPLICATION FORM ws d 1 dat we filld during the registeration???????

Have all the calls gone out or some are yet to come in? I hv a 88.9 in XAT ... ppl with QA Sectionals as low as 8%tile has also got a call. Can I still expect a call? Panicing...

We will get back with the update on this after asking from the admissions office if re schedule will be done for genuine cases or not.
Till then don't panic please and don't send any mail to gim admission id.

2. Request you not to panic please. Still mails are being sent.

Our senior batch had an intake of 240 only, but few people left the college after the start of academic session. So now they are 229.

1. CV is not compulsory, but it's better if you make one and carry along.
