People with work ex will be asked more on the work ex part only. But at least browse through your project part once and the basic things of your acad subjects. At least the topics related to your work ex.

e.g I had 3 years of work ex. So i was asked questions regarding my work ex. And those questions led to one or two questions being asked on acads which is directly related to my work ex.

Hope you got my point.

What i remember it's both.

Because when you summarize what happened in gd, you give more focus to what you said.

So basically you have to summarize with your points as well as the points given by others.

Below are few of the expected questions if you have decided your specialization. However some of these questions can be asked to anyone as they are generic in kind.
HR
HR is for the people who are 'good at interacting with others'. Do you have this quality in you?
No one picks HR. It's only because they have no other choice, that they do an HR course. Then Why do you want to take up HR as your majors?
Generally HR managers are paid less than Marketing or Finance managers. Why don't you take some other specialization?
Marketing
What is marketing? Explain its core concepts.
What is the difference between marketing and sales?
How would you sell this product to me?
Explain why you think you are suitable for Marketing?
Finance
Tell us any important financial news from this week. What is your take on that.
Basic questions from economy like questions on CRR/SLR, Sensex etc.
If you have mentioned that you have worked in finance related profile then expect further questions related to your profile. For ex. As I was working as a freelancer/consultant, they asked me what my profitability margin was.

There will be a login appearing in the website. Though at 74 it seems a bit difficult I would say dont lose hope!!

2. A word of motivation --> Last year when i had scored 77 percentile and came to know later on that this was the cut off, i was really tensed about my chances of getting through. But i cleared it in the first merit list itself. So prepare hard for the next battle. All the best.


I think I am in your shoes this year... have 76.48 and that's the lowest call that I have seen so far.....ab the final outcome bhi same karne k liye jaan lagani hai

I wanted to know if all the notifications Emails for interviews have been circulated or not. Because I have a score of 89.12 percentile (QA 96.92, English 71.37 and Decision making 61.19) but I haven't received any interview notifications from GIM.

Will the intitute also come out with a consolidated list of shortlisted applicants so that I can check? Please help out since I need to plan my leave and travel plans.

Since Thursday is an institute holiday it is impossible to get any information today from the college. AFAIK the mails are still being sent. Check your spam folder to see if the mail has landed up there or not. A login link will appear in the website. You can check your result from there. The list has been sent to SIFY. We just have to wait for them to upload it. The college has done their part. The IT guys are being a bit lethargic it seems.

As already mentioned by Avinash, the e-mail notifications are still being sent out. So please wait for some more time. Looking at the cut-off range, you should definitely get a call at 89.12% ile.

Also the link on website will be available shortly to check your results.

Thursday and Sunday are the 2 official college holidays. Though classes happen on these days, the admin,admission,accounts,PGP dept are all closed.

My problem is that interview centre for me is bhopal :shock: :banghead:(Date:28th February 2012
Venue:Hotel Nisarga 211, Zone-I, Maharana Pratap Nagar, Bhopal-462011 (India)

I am working in Mumbai and I had requested for a centre in Mumbai for GD/PI. I have dropped a mail to the admissions department regarding a consideration for venue change as it would be difficult for me to take leave for 2-3 days on a 10 day notice.

Do you think it will be considered? Really anxious as I dont want to miss out on the opportunity.

Your request might be considered though it depends on the descretion of Admission Dept.
However last year people who missed their GD/PI due to location issues were asked to come to GIM campus in goa during the last few days.
As you are in Mumbai, Coming to Goa would be easier for you.

Institute has already mentioned about no re scheduling in their call letter.

But we will take up this matter and ask them if there is any possibility.

After that, we will get back to you all.

See in general whenever people get an opportunity to appear for a GD/PI, they just grab it with both hands. People travel long distances to appear for a GD/PI and give their best missing their college or work for a day or two. In fact in our batch we had students whose final exams of college were not over when the course started. They came here on admission day, got themselves registered, went back, gave their exam and again came back. There are thousands of instances when people skip college or work for the GD/PI too. I, personally think the college is doing us a favour by giving us a chance to market ourselves in front of them which we cant let go in any way. Unless you have a totally unavoidable reason like another GD/PI, final exam, major health issue I don't think the college will consider. Try to adjust your work. Its just a day. I think it can be managed!

Yeah I know GOA would be quite easier. Also there would be no issues for accomodation etc :). Bhopal is a little inaccessible.
