Gate 2016 (ECE) - DISCUSSIONS

AGAIN PSU RECRUITING THROUGH DIRECT CAMPUS FROM COLLEGES. Due to high attrition rate, some year back, Public Sector Units (PSUs) started recruitment process at various academic campuses in India to attract best talent into their ranks and profiles. Besides regular recruitment process to invite applications from suitable candidates, PSUs regularly appeared at the top academic institutes like IITs, NITs and IIMs for Engineers and Management Trainees to get best talent in India. But the candidates who were left at some less fortunate academic institutes felt neglected and cheated and took the issue to the court. The High Court ruled to stop this practice and then PSUs stayed away from the campus interviews to select suitable candidates. PSUs again started at campuses But for last 1-2 years, PSUs have once again started to select the candidates from the campuses. The number of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) lining up to take part in Campus placements has seen a sharp rise this year. Almost all major Top Academic institute like IITs have more than double the number of PSUs both Maharatnas and Navratnas queuing up to participate in the recruitment process that begins on December 1. Later on ISRO, DRDO and Navy will also join the process. At IIT-Kharagpur, the country's oldest IIT, the number of PSUs confirming participation has gone up from four last year to 13 this year. Some of the big names include Indian Oil, HPCL, BPCL, and BEL.

What about the term in the denominator containing eta .eta is not same for all poles (please se question and option in comments as I am unable to upload in post)

A modulated signal is y(t)=m(t)cos(40000*pi*t), where the baseband signal m(t) has frequency components less than 5 kHz only. The minimum required rate (in kHz)at which y(t) should be sampled to recover m(t) is _________.

The answer for this question is given as 10 kHz. But as far as my knowledge this signal is a bandpass signal with bandwidth of 10 kHz. So the minimum sampling rate should be 2*BW= 20 kHz. Please correct me if I am wrong.
