Gears of war 3...
I have been watching Videos,walkthrough,news,review's and what not...and Trust me guys It's going to be nothing less than an Epic experience...I just cant wait for this one....
Here's a review from Beingnerd--->
Epic Games created the first Gears of War game as a marquee title for the Xbox 360, giving gamers a reason to buy the console. It was a visceral, bloody experience, portraying the troops of Delta Squad as they fought to save the last human inhabitants of the planet Sera from an unstoppable underground Locust Horde. It was essentially a story about hope, survival, and brotherhood. The player assumed the role of Marcus Fenix, a marine who was imprisoned and let loose as a last-ditch effort to save humanity. The final chapter in the Gears of War trilogy has drawn to a close but were pretty sure that this isnt the last time that well visit the Gears universe.
Think you know what to expect from Gears of War 3 just because you played Gears 1 and Gears 2 or Gears 3 Beta? This does sound extremely clichd, but think again. In other words, Gears of War 3 will surprise you. Epic have had nearly 3 years to prepare this latest chapter in the franchise, and since its the last chapter in the trilogy, theyve made sure its the best game in the series so far.

Without spoiling the story for you, the game is set a year and a half after the events of Gears of War 2. At the end of Gears 2, it was revealed that Marcus Fenixs father may still be alive, which is right where Gears of War 3 starts off. The campaign opens with a dream sequence involving the moment he, Adam Fenix, supposedly died. After destroying Jacinto, our heroes take to sea vessels, and each military unit has been left to their own fate. Dont worry if youre unfamiliar with this turn of events, the game does a good job of offering a quick recap. More than ever, Marcus is haunted by his fathers death. But no, hes not really dead this discovery becomes the main catalyst for the story. During Gears and its sequel, we always played as Marcus and Dom. This time around, well play as others (such as Cole). In the case of Cole, we return to his hometown from his perspective and have an opportunity to see what his life was like before the Locust Emergence Day. We also learn how Baird thinks in the course of the game.
Gears of Wars setting has always been decrepitly beautiful, but unlike some of the settings featured in previous Gears games, the Ravens Nest is teeming with life. Little details make you believe that this is a real place that soldiers have been living on for quite some time: A couple of guys argue over a crossword puzzle. Another reads the same book over and over, hoping for a different ending. In the recreation room is a foosball table. Theres a sense of community, of history. The storyline also tackles significantly heavier themes this time around. Gears 3s storyline strikes more emotional beats than you might expect from a Gears of War game. These moments come through in the games dialogue as well as occasional flashbacks and dreams. The level design in Gears of War 3 reflects the most organic cover the series has seen yet. The streets of Hanover, a small town on the coast near Sovereigns position, open up to wide spaces, and the cover is more difficult to come by. With Gunkers flinging explosive fireballs across the map, charging to safety is a risk and thats assuming you have enough firepower to even take the beast out. Theres always an air of panic. More than any of its predecessors, Gears of War 3 is a scramble for cover, and now for ammo as a resource. Youll find yourself constantly running from the action with an empty clip, rolling out of the way of fireballs and polyps. The lack of ammo shows the tides are turning from bad to worse. This tension is a great motivator, setting the pace from the get-go.
There are new enemies to deal with, like lambent stalks that would spawn enemies from pods, also there are drudges, which have tentacle arms and throw emulsion fireballs at you. They have a weak spot in their chests, but you have to keep an eye on their heads, which can still come after you when severed. Things can easily get out of hand if you dont take down the pods on the stalk to prevent more lambent from spawning, but with the right approach, encounters shouldnt be too bad. The variety of enemies makes the game feel fresh. There are certain other fresh touches to the game as well, like a glittering ocean and expansive sky composed of colors other than brown. Like the quaint little seaside towns perched on cliffs in the distance. In later chapters, youll visit a playground and supermarket. The color may be slightly less gruesome, but the lambent Locust are not. If anything, theyre more hideous, and with the power to randomly transform into a variety of new forms sometimes two additional arms grow out of their shoulders, sometimes their decapitated heads evolve into slithering snakes theyre certainly more unpredictable.

Remember the finale to Gears of War 2, when you seized control of the Brumak, then crushed hundreds of ant-sized Locust beneath your feet? The new Silverback mech isnt quite as powerful, but considering you get to pilot it within the first hour of the game unleashing its endless arsenal of rockets directly into the eyes and mouth of a massive Leviathan sea squid we feel safe in saying that the stakes and bar have been raised for Gears 3. Switch the Silverback to defensive hunkering mode and the thing is practically invincible. Its tough to be graceful in one of these outfits, but having a never-ending stream of bullets and rocket launchers to hide behind helps. Movement is tricky, and you can only access your more powerful rocket when you plant the silverback on the ground and take cover.
Gears of War 3 also takes the series into 3D. For anyone with the right hardware, this visual change looks great at parts, most notably fireballs soaring at the screen. Some visuals do become obscured when smoke spreads across multiple layers of depth, but overall the mode looks great and should please fans of the tech. On a purely gameplay level, Gears 3 almost certainly doesnt disappoint. But Epic Games has done more than just crank up the action and intensity with their latest entry. In fact, theyve made a number of design decisions that deepen the experience beyond just bigger, fierier explosions. I feel the tale of Marcus and his COGs hurling into exciting new territory. The gameplays tight, the level design well thought out, and the looks fantastic. It may be a graphically brighter experience than the first two, but its the bleakest Gears story yet at least, so far.
Cooperative play has always been a mainstay of the Gears franchise. In Gears of War 3, Epics increasing the number of possible players during the campaign from two to four, which results in both intensified combat as well as more opportunities for the games designers and writers to unfold the story in interesting ways. Instead of focusing primarily on one character, Gears of War 3 constantly shifts between the perspectives of different characters, allowing you to experience certain scenarios from multiple viewpoints.

he multiplayer is where the game improvements shine. Those who got a chance to play the multiplayer beta already got to experience the improvements. There are some new weapons available along with better squad command and maps that are resurfacing. Gears of War 3s multiplayer is brutal, bloody and fast-paced everything that fans of the series will love. Horde mode, a favorite of many gamers who loved cooperative gameplay, has been restructured into Horde 2.0. You have the ability to gain points and build defenses to help you protect your outposts. Team work is essential as bosses appear much more often, and things are that much more difficult with defenses to help you. One of the more interesting modes to come around is Beast mode. This gives the anti hero lurking inside the ability to play the locust. Your goal is to take out as many humans as possible over 10 rounds.
Theres an arcade cooperative mode as well, where players earn points for their actions. For those who have something to prove with their solo gaming prowess, arcade mode may be for you. The premise is quite simple: beat a level as fast as you can for points. You get more for killing effectively, you get less for dying. Your points go up on a leader board for all to see. The Gears of War series has always shined when it comes to cooperative play, and by adding a couple of extra players to the mix, it looks like itll be an even better experience than the last.
Gears of War 3 creates one of the best combat experiences in video games. You dont get to be an invincible hero who mows down enemies by the hundreds. Rather, each kill is hard-earned. You have to duck behind cover, peer around corners, and revive fallen comrades as you dodge heavy fire. Gears is an experience, a feeling. The exhilaration of the roadie run, the full-bodied thud of sticking to cover, the pop of a successful active reload, the swish of a roll, the crunch of a headshot. Everything in the game is visceral, is felt; everything carries an internal cadence, a rhythm. Gears of Wars 3 is an almost perfect shooter that you just cannot afford to miss out on, even if that comes at the cost of buying a DAMN new console.
What if CAT is Round the corner...I am going to play this Game like a maniac...hell,I have waited 3 long yrs. for this Rather Epic Game...
