are you sure its mba that you want? have surely watched 3 idiots!! give that a thought first your confidence that you will be able to crack cat is really commendable its your most important asset but think deeply just once... not what is a good career option but what you would love to do

Well the thing i want to do a lot of things i have a real passion for writing and i am quite a bit interested in music as well i want to Own a publishing house of my own and starts india's first Shonen Manga series. i want to be active in social sphere aswell and will perhaps join politics at a later stage so many things i want to do MBA is a crucial stopage to acchieve these things as all of them need money MBA is not just for money i want to develop a social circle of aspiring youths and well placed individual to help me out in my journey and i dont see a better option than doing an MBA
and about 3 idiots Its a good movies but in the end its a movie things like that are not practical i cant just leave things and become a writer Phungsuk wagdu didnt have parents to bother about but we do have and we have a responsibility towards them

woooh! you are a very creative individual n yes 3 idiots is a movie what i tried to hint at was...to identify your passion you surely cannot sit back at home n become a writer there are responsiblities definitely! i am not a psychology student but i guess the void is from the fact that you still have to go a long way before you get to do what you really want... mba is not your dream dream right? so may be you are just getting impatient see the things you want to do...pursue them as extra curriculars as of now... n may be as you have been doing so far... and they will definitely give you a great profile for a top echelon insti... be patient and start your preparations if not this year next year may be! do not lose your stamina you have a long way to go!!! kudos!!!

you know the problem is i don't enjoy my engineering so i am more or less just passing my time here which makes me feel had i not been doing engineering i could have used a lot of time not that i my engineering skill sucks i was one of the best prgrammar in college but gave up programming after first year as it didn't interest me i hope in MBA they impart some real knowledge instead of feeding theoritical crap.
newaz al da best 2 u! n yes mba is alot about practical implementations projects n group assigments but you have to get through a good insti for that!

Hi guys... i am currently doing my final year in civil engineering in chennai. From my childhood, my aim is to be an M.B.A.graduate from a good college... recently came to know that cat is too tough to crack (for my range and abilities)
my 10th - 83% 12th - 83.5% B.E. (Till now gpa) is 6.8 only
So hoping to do well in TANCET(anna univ) atleast and doing M.B.A. is now a very costly affair if u dont crack any of the entrance exams , Now what shall i do ?? work in some const.company for sometime and then go for exams or shall i start preparing now itself ?? also can any of you give me details on some economical business schools in chennai that do not ask for exorbitant fees etc....

the best thing about lyf is its unpredictable....u shud never limit yourself, because its only when you dream that u stand a chance of succeeding...look at my profile and then decide if you have the capability to get into an IIM or not...i got thru only because i believed i could do it 😉 -
10th - 84.2 12th - 76.4 engg - 6.8cgpa TIME AIMCATS - only a couple of 90's,rest all 60-70 extra curriculars - only in our college fest,nothing extra ordinary CAT percentile - 99.77% convert - IIM Rohtak!

hey seniors im B.Tech 2009 passout. Im currently working in a s/w company and getting around 24k in hand. Im confused between the following options a lot. Please help me chose the correct one as Im just wasting time by not making a quick decision. 1). MBA - I had appeard in CAT 08 and 09 and got around 75-80 percentile in almost all exams. This year if i appear for CAT etc then ill try to analyze my weak areas and try to cover up. The problem is that i need to take a lot of education loan for my MBA. And i would later want to settle in some good PSU. I dont know whether my MBA would help me in that or shall i forget about MBA and concentrate more on PSU exams. If after MBA i opt for PSUs then repaying a huge education loan of 6-8 lacs could be a problem as i would end up paying 15k-20k installments for 5-6 years. My prime days would be spent in repaying the loan only. 2). PSUs - Iv always thought of PSUs as a safe option for life. But now im not in touch with my engg subjects. I think it would take a lot of effort to crack a PSU exam now. But this would have been the best option for me as i want to settle early in life. Its not that i did not study my engg subjects properly during B.Tech, but now it would take gr8 effort to qualify a PSU exam. I think cracking CAT would be easier for me as i already know about many of my weak areas and areas of improvement (since iv given CAT twice). 3). My s/w job - The work that im given is not so great. I dont know abt the future as i wont be gaining any valuable experience with the kind of work im given. Its very difficult to change my work over here. 4). Bank PO - Iv been thinking abt Bank PO also , but most of my frnds have told me that the in-hand salary is around 16k-21k and the work is mostly of clerical nature. People work very hard in PSU banks and are not satisfied with their work. But this could be an easy option as cracking bank PO is not that tough. It would give me early settlement in life but i may be posted to small districts and all. Plus i would go for a job which is paying me less than my current job.
im very frustated these days as im taking such a long time in taking the correct decision and not working/studying for any of the options. Iv also missed first two tests of TIME as i havnt enrolled as yet.
seniors/folks please help me take the correct decision as it could change the course of my life.

Hey seniors, My career so far Xth-80% XII-78% B.Tech-ETC 7.59 cgpa 2009 Extra-curriculars-pretty less only played cricket for college. Got recruited by a good company HTSL Started preparing for CAT and other MBA exams. Had a disastrous season. In the mean way lost my job.They gave the reason that no project now and we don't have any requirment. This was a big blow to me. After that I have been trying in some PSU and banks But no succes till now. I don't want to go in IT sector as i know nothing of it.
I want to know that in which other sectors can i try for getting a job and how? I don't think i will go for Cat this year may be next year.In telecom sector it is too difficult to get a job.I have tried through some job website like Naukri but get no response from them. I am too frustrated now. Please advice me what to do now. Thanks Dinesh
