Free Warli Workshop by Somaiya Social Cell at FabIndia

Warli art is a centuries old folk art tradition of paintings originating from a Maharashtrian tribe called Warli. These paintings express everyday life using extremely basic object forms and just one color - white - on a sober mud base.

The Somaiya Social Cell has taken the initiative of helping some members of the Warli tribe living in Dahanu revive their art and find its right price in the market.
One such effort has been to set up a workshop in affliation with FabIndia by the painters from Dahanu.

The Somaiya Social Cell cordially invites all you art-lovers
for this beginner workshop on Warli Paintings
on 22nd March, 2009

at FabIndia, Kalaghoda
You could join us at four different time slots 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm

Workshop details-

  1. Paintings would be taught on a cloth with mud base provided by us.
  2. Each session would be 1 hour long.
  3. Please be present 10 minutes before the intended session.
  4. The workshop is free of cost.
