@aruns234 Firstly, Congratulations 😃 ...strange -- IIMC never conducted RAT!! Although I can't disregard ur personal experience, I would say that such things seldom happen.
@AAOne IIM C conducted RAT this time, only for those people who were shortlisted at the end of day one.
@nishanta2006 btw, "such things seldom happen" referred to @aruns234's apparently 'bitter' experience!! :P
@AAOne I was also there for the process for 2 days.....and I actually enjoyed it...it was a pretty rigorous process....a very good experience...personally speaking
What type of questions were asked in IIM-C RAT?
@Anisen We were given two options...either take a quant puzzle, or analyze a research paper. We were shown both, and given 10 minutes to decide which option do we want. In all, for quant puzzle, we had 1 hour, and if we select the research paper, we had 1.5 hours.
The quant puzzle was not that easy....which you can expect from IIM C, which is known for its huge emphasis on quant ...and the research paper was very very dense. It was long, very long, and you had to read it, comprehend it, and write a critique of it, all in 1.5 hours, which included the first 10 minutes given to you.
@adityaknsit It depends on which area you plan to apply for FPM. If you are planning to apply for FPM in Economics area, then I am sure masters in Economics will help. But if you are planning to apply for areas like POM or Marketing, then it is not required and you can direcly apply after a 4 year B.E. With a good GMAT/GATE score you can get through directly.
@aruns234
Well as far as the process issues that Aruns has talked about, most of them are what you can call grapevine issues.
No person who did not have LOR was shortlisted in first place. So calling a person and accepting someone who did not have LOR is improbable.
Although what you say might be true that panel members do say such things to candidates to throw them off board (and have their share of fun 😛 ). But in actuality no application without LOR was called for interview.
Regarding your second point, there is no objective score out of 5,10 or 100 to rate the candidates in any round of interview except the RAT which was 50 marks exam. Any such number has definitely emerged out of someone's mind only.
There were only 3 candidates shortlisted for marketing and 2 of them were made offers. No one else was called for interview.
One lady was called to meet Research committee but that was on her request to meet and know the issues that she had and details etc. She was the last person to meet the committee after marketing peoplehad given their interviews so you must have assumed that she was for marketing , but as a matter of fact she was not.
Many other people had requested to meet the professor to get some feedback and FP chair was in his office till 8.15 meeting people and giving feedback on their performance. It is a regular thing.
Only because one lady was entertained by whole committee at the end of the interview process does not mean we can start spreading all rumours about the process.
Hi Guys,
I have IIM K interview process on 8th and 9th April. We have been asked to make our own accommodation arrangements. Any one of you have same dates?? Girls specially, what arrangement have you thought of? They told the nearest hotel is around 1.5 km called Monad.
@nitya.saxena i have been to IIMK for executive MBA. You can get a decent hotel at reasonable prices in the city which is roughly 25-30 mins drive from IIMK campus.
XLRI fpm results are out and I got another waitlist
That`s it! won`t aatend anymore interviews... can`t take another w8list

@aruns234 personally I did jot meet or hear of that candidate. But would trust you for the info.
Well you yourself have said what I would have said. There would have been a technical glitch and he was asked to leave. He was not offered a seat.
There might have been technical glitches as this was first time IIMC went ahead with online applications but no person with incomplete application was admitted.
Rest assured of that

All those attending IIMB RAT on 4th April, spoke to Admissions office, they said this year IS area and Finance area (only) are going to have their interviews lined up on 4th April afternoon itself (unless something changes in the mean time), as opposed to normal practice of next day. So kindly come prepared accordingly.
The implications of this decision (in my mind) are :-
* In these 2 areas RAT score may not be used to filter people, but as a supplement to your interview performance ??.
* People coming only for IS or Finance area, can keep their travel schedules flexible as you may have an option of leaving the same day, unless you want to enjoy the hospitality of Bangalore for one more day.
Disclaimer * If something changes in the mean time, please don't kill me ! 😃
@gajamani if its not too much of a hassle could you check about OB as well I tried calling the office did'nt get a response I assume they must be busy. Thank you

i myself is one of the testimony to this fact-
I have received the call from IIMC but i have not completed the form and later admission office confirmed that it was a technical glitch. The process i believe is pretty transparent.Cheers to IIMC...
@saurabhlumarrai Yes. there are teething troubles with the online application system and much needed improvements would be made in future to those.
This year the shift to online one did have its own issues, but to the best of my belief and info all of it was sorted out.
Still if there any major issues, we are all ears and would give the recommendations to office to improve the online system in future.
