Guys/SB29,
Your suggestion is strongly needed!
I am looking for FPM in MIS. This is my profile, but the biggest hurdle is 4 year education gap after 12th(Preparing for IIT JEE, cleared state level exam 2 times(Rank 1100, 320) and IIT prelimnary - was among 15000 student).
Do you think I should apply for IIM FPM? they are not going to consider education gap profile at all?
Kindly respond......

Congratulations to all selected candidates.Wishing everyone all the best for further interviews

Thanks to the IIM C team of current FPs for conducting such a rigorous process so smoothly and efficiently... @buffer & @endroneel nice meeting you two in person!!
@haygaurav IS did not have any area specific test last year. Please check my earlier postings (22nd and 23rd) for the format of RAT.
@Anisen No. If you have only IIM-Indore call, then you can RAT at IIM Indore. The dual option is only for people attending both places.

What are the tentative dates of start of academic session in a typical FPM programme , I know its a very broadbased question and would vary across all IIMs but a small hint may suffice

@invban In IIMB it starts in the 3rd week of June and the 3rd term finishes by 3rd week of March after you which have a summer break. But IIMB is different from other IIMs, because here the first year for FPMs is a separate track, unlike other IIMs where first year is combined with PGP for all practical purpose. So in other IIMs, the FPM will start along with PGP schedule.

Hello folks,

I have been quite motivated towards an academic career in economics (a bit keen on agricultural economics) for quite some time. Sat for b-school entrance exams this year but could not score heavily in CAT, though I could still convert MBE (Masters in Business Economics), DU due to good past acads. I would wish to know if a Masters in Business Economics from University of Delhi would strengthen my profile if I apply to doctoral programs at the IIIMs (IIM A/B's fellow program in economics specifically). My profile goes as follows-

10th- 93
12th- 90
Grad- 66 (as of now till 6th sem B.E. at University of Delhi)
Work ex- nil (fresher)

I would wish to know if my plans are realistic enough, and how should I go about planning my future steps towards a Phd from IIM A/B.

Would an MBE from University of Delhi, South campus be a good next step?

4 years gap is huge. But since you have been working for last 9 years and also have a good GMAT score, it shouldn't matter much.

You are a fresher and have time on your side. I think it will be a good idea for you to do the MBE program (and also work for a couple of years if you want) before starting your doctoral program. Another approach is to start working after engineering and apply for CAT again after a year or two for admission to FPM. Both are equally good options. The advantage of the former approach is that you can then apply abroad as well after your masters. But ensure that your acads are good during MBE.
@adityaknsit if past data is any thing to go by, last year a guy from MBE DU made it to IIM A - FPM for Finance area.

To all who have attended the IIMC interviews, please share your experience.. it will help the future aspirants and also those who have converted it, please update the spreadsheet.

What's the update of FMS phD? 23-25 April ka kya matlab? Will they e-mail us the exact date?

Anyone who has applied to financial economics at ISB here? Heard they have already shortlisted. Anyone got a call?

Can someone guide me on the RAT pattern and mock questions of IIM B ?

@preethi1990 look at the previous posts gajmani has posted the format
@nishanta2006 this is news to me 😛 I have not heard about anything I called them on Friday had posted the details earlier :)

@adymos @nishanta2006 yup..i was told that the results would be out by 2nd April...and people might still be called for a F2F on a short notice

@GauravPuri A formal light colored plain shirt (full arm) and dark trousers will do. If you are comfortable with a tie sport it !. But it is not mandatory. Blazers may be a overkill as I hardly see anyone with blazers these days !
i saw at least 10 in IIMA and felt little out of the place :-)
@nishanta2006 Ya I have applied for finance in ISB, but was told that the results will be out only on 2nd April....from where did u hear about the shortlisting?

...going by ur inclination, and in case u r very clear on that, I would advise u to join IIMA's FP-Agri.
