Football Club -- Part Deux

A bit off topic but...worth watching...

Watch your back

When it comes to penalty shoot-outs the goalkeeper is often seen as having nothing to lose.

The pressure falls squarely on the players stepping up to the spot while the men between the sticks assume hero status if they can pull off a save.

Well, not on this occasion.

Keeper Khalid Askri was made to look very, very silly when he prematurely celebrated what he thought was a solid stop in the quarter-finals of Morocco's Coupe du Trone tournament.

LNC-gvoZEFM

His side FAR Rabat ended up losing the shoot-out 7-6 to Maghreb Fez.

Cool , Fabregas is very costly , did want him in the team but will have to sacrifice many .

results from the first round of group matches in champions league:

Barcelona after a humiliating loss against hercules in la liga, came back with a 5-1 win over Panathinaikos
Manchester United had a goaless draw against Rangers, Inter Milan drew too

Arsenal - Sunderland goes 1-1.
Fab scores a freak goal whereas Rosicky misses penalty. And yes, Chamakh is a BAD investment.

Gyan started from where he stopped in world cup... reaching the right spot to acquire the ball and then miss it miserably (just what he did throughout the worldcup)..

Waiting for tomorrow's big game...

And yes, Chamakh is a BAD investment.

How on earth is this possible, one miss and he is a bad investment.Last season he has the highest number of head goals in Europe.Among top 5 goal scorers in last two seasons in low scoring French league.Adds another dimension to Arsenal's game,3 goals in 5 games with tremendous work rate.I think he was superb today like many other few gooners feel, the man who has been lackadaisical these days is Arshavin and Arshavin missed two sitters in 2nd half.

Why arsenal is playing like this?? :sneaky:
No confusion should happen!!!
Iam the true Chelsea Fan!!!
Bayern-cologne also failed to score despite having klose-muller and podolski on either sides!!! :nono: :nono:

I told it because of my own "way" of observing it. Chamakh, if you research a bit, would see that always said to be a hyped player. Always considered to be low on finishing. Also he looked not so strong against physically fit and tough english defenders. I watched the second half of yesterday's match and felt many times that he lost the ball due to off balance or poor technique. Wilshere was much better. As I have not seen Chamakh playing earlier so it might be too early to put a comment but expected a little more from him as he has a prodigious supply line behind.

Anyways, if he is good and produces some dazzles in coming days that will be good for all of us who sits in front of the box to watch some quality football.

I don't remember a moment when he gave ball so early.Chamakh is not a hyped player,he deserves the credit since he has scored in crucial games in Champions league and French league last season. His hold up play is way ahead than many other hyped player in EPL and as far as physicality is concerned,he is up with the best. How many players can score with a header with the likes of Chellieni and Melo both marking that single player,he has done that.Wilshere was restricted to DM with 10 men where he was unable to make forward runs.Chamakh is way ahead of Adebayor in hold up play and tracking back. You can see that in all ratings of yesterday game where three players of Arsenal have been applauded for their performance(Chamakh,Koscielny and Squillaci).

great game between manu & liverpool......berba looks to be man on a mission this season especailly considering the form rooney is in at the moment he could be THE player for united this season....btw how are bonus points alloted in fantasy league?.......any idea!!!!!!!!!

congratz:).........any idea how these bonus points are alloted?....in my team for maluoda only one bonus point was alloted while for drogba 2 points were given which looks confusing to me......considering maluoda scored two goals to drogba's one and also both players are in the same team and also considering maluoda as a winger personally more points should be given for his effort(i dont have drogba in my team)

You can check the rules here.
The bonus points for the games are decided by a panel of experts. And as with many other cases, it is not necessary that you agree with a panel of experts. I generally tend to agree with them, but sometimes i don't.

They give the points according to the performance best player getting 3 then 2 then 1 so it becomes perception based i think.

From a Win in the PG league last week i come last this time

Damn injury to fabregas did me in along with arsenal's below par performance:nono:

I ll be back

Player performance is assessed by Press Association analysts, all of whom are ex-professional footballers, who attend each match. This assessment takes into account the quality of a player's overall performance and their contribution to the match result.

No Trophies No Points on the line but North London Derby is second to none

Recent games have been incredible with a 5-4 , 4-4 and 5-1 in the recent history

Bragging rights for a season could be had and course if Tot win 'Arry will be uncontrollable for the next few months which though fun to watch can be very very irritating
Hoping for a Arsenal Win

Fun facts
  1. Arsenal fans celebrate St. Totteringham's day which is the day in the season when Tottenham cannot mathematically finish above Arsenal on the league table.
  2. St Totteringham Day was Arsenal fans' response to St Hotspur day which was created in honour of Spurs' 3-1 win over Arsenal in the 1991 FA Cup semi-final.
  3. Spurs fans celebrated St Hotspur Day on 14th April 2010 after Spurs beat Arsenal 2-1.

Will be interesting to see the Spurs team in this game, usually they send out a strong first team in the league cup but this year they should have other priorities. In fact an early exit would do them some good.

Arsene Wenger will always field his reserve side for this game as he has done earlier.Honestly speaking Spurs have realistic chance of winning FA cups and Carling cup only this season,so I expect Harry to come up with almost the same side which played wolves this weekend with few changes.
