VDV's real stint was very wierd...depite being one of their better performers the club has always been trying to sell him off and always at very very loe prices...he was rumoured to be going to bayern at 18 mill mounds 2 days before but due to certain issues he couldnt go there ....WTF happend that made his price fall by 10 mill in a day

NO doubt he is a great player but I have doubts about his credentials for PL..He is not that fast and slows down the play at times...But 12 Mil is as good as free so I hope he does well for the club...

Specially when a raw talent like Smalling costs 10 mil , 12 is free:

VDV is a luxury signing for Spuds.Harry has got tendency to grab players in cheaper price even if the signing is unnecessary.Can anyone tell me where will VDV fit in Spuds scheme of things considering Bale,Modric are irreplaceable,Defoe can't lead the line alone so another striker,Jenas and Palacious have always figured in Arry's game plan.VDV is too slow to play at wings and remember Kranjcar is also there.In nutshell,Spuds will be Spuds.

VDV is a very good signing for Spurs . Now , Spurs are looking good to continue from where they left last season . I am sure VDV will fit in somewhere . You cant make a player of VDV' quality to sit on bench , specially at a club like Spurs .

I think spurs is looking to increase their squad depth, now that they have the added pressure of competing in UCL. A good signing, imo.

But you really need a reality check.

Is Jenas a ball winner by any stretch of your imagination, if not, let me have a debate with you regarding Van Der Vaat and Jermaine Jenas ( a bloated english player, who like james milner only commands respect because he is enligh)

For VDV not to feature would mean Jenas will have to play out of skin in every match (which he hardly does), his ball possession always draws spur on the backfoot.

In Europe especially VDV will be very handy and the experience he brings on playing at the biggest stage will be invaluable to this new and inexperienced line up (barring peter crouch who has played in UCL final, but still van der vaat has featured consistently in more high profile matches than him.

Bale is far from an irreplaceable, a handful of good games doesn't make a player one, considering that this is his first full season he would do well to play 30-35 games(Spurs should have around 50 plus games on the whole),a fair few of these appearances are likely to be at left back. Away from home in the CL and in the big games in the league Harry was keen on playing a 4-5-1 hence his desperation to sign a Fabiano, VDV doesn't provide the same option but he is known to play behind the striker and could be vital in that formation provided Harry loses his obsession with Defoe and plays Pav up top on his own. Kranjcar is likely to be frozen out but considering that he cost only 2mill means that he has probably repaid his transfer fee already. To sum it up at 8 mill I think they got a great bargain

Then in 4-5-1,who will lead the line..5'7 Defoe and Pavly is not capable enough to lead upfront,he was inform player for Spurs last season but still he missed hell lot of chances.Bale can not play as LB against any good team,did you forget what happened against Manu last season.He was owned by Nani.And in any big game,the midfield of Bale-Modric-Palacious-Lenon is almost certain to start with Defoe and Crouch/Pavly/Keane..As far as Kranjcar is concerned,he is the best man to replace Modric irrespective of what all Harry has paid for him.
Remember,Hart and A.Johnson are the cheapest buy of Man City,still there position is almost fixed.

Milan squad is looking good this season . With the signing of Robinho and Ibra (on lone) at last there is some reinforcement to the ageing Milan side . I dont think Serie A would be a single horse race this season , specially after the exit of 'the special one' and the arrival of Rafa . 😛

Theres some problem going on in pg it seems ...seen loads of posts being posted twice:)...anyways something once posted u cant delete it ...best u can do is edit it.......anyways coming to your post i fully expect benitez to take the world beaters ie is Inter and turn them into an below average team ..only benitez can do that...anyone who points to the istanbul win for liverpool and says benitez was responsible for that should know that 12 players who played for that team were players brought was houllier before benitez joined....he did fantastic work in valencia but i think his ego problems tend to overshadow his other positives as a coach and this leads to problems with players....AC can win the scudetto but if and only if they get a good defence!
