Football Club -- Part Deux

Lot of fans are getting impatient with wenger's attitude towards transfer market, I'm one of them. Don't know whether he'll be buying a good keeper and some defenders when the transfer window opens up. May be he'll give another chance to Almunia.

He should go for Cahill and Reina.. tried n tested in EPL.but that would eat up all transfer budget bcz it would take in excess of 35 M for both of them.. i guess Arsenal need a good fit striker too who can fetch regular goals..bcz Van Persie cant play a full Season n Chamakh seems to get burned out in 2nd Half of Season after a promising start.. n Bendtner is average for me to be honest .. hes not happy to sit on bench.. when players above him in pecking order are fit n in the team..!!

Wenger dsnt spend that much amount in a transfer window without making sales only God knws why..!!

theres ques mark over Clichys future in summer so Wenger has a lot of work to do..
n ever going transfer saga n pursuit of Fabregas will also continue by Barca..
So a busy Summer for Arsenal..

hey all f my football fraternity..we all here discuss abt epl, la liga etc..y dont we talk abt INDIAN FOOTBALL??..we all talk abt what shud be the strategies of our favourite football clubs, who shud be bought nd who shud be sold but nothing is ever discussed abt indian SOCCER..i kno the way indian clubs nd players play is just boring nd dissapointing but we shud look into ways how 2 promote nd improve football in india..we all kno dat cricket is pprimarily responsible 4 dat ..for me india shud not win the world cup f cricket..i may sound anti-nationalist..i want dat india shud reach finals i.e. beat pak but not win it cos it will take cricket popularity 2 an extreme level nd our beautiful game nd other sporty games like hockey(our so called national game which is nt in reality),rugby, basketball nd the ppl who love these games their talent will be a go waste..so what i am is anti-cricket not anti-national....so now we shud discuss how 2 promote nd improve the BEAUTIFUL GAME in india..my dream is to see our national team to play in the world cup nd maybe win some day(although i know it will take a miracle 2 happen nd even more dan dat)..I m doing my part by helping my school coach who is promoting young talent from slums nd he is assisted in dat by an NGO..they r very young nd they hve very good talent nd i hope 2 see dem at gr8 level 1 day...I am doing my part thru this ARE U/WILL U??....let us stand up nd help the beautiful game nd other sports nd bring their popularity at par with cricket..cummon..

Dude we gt ur post.. why r u repeting it again n again..n We want India to win World cup despite being Football fanatic.. so dnt say like dat.. the problem is hw do you expect MBA aspirants to go out n contribute.. many pple here never played the game though some of them did at School n College level..
most of all when young boys hardly want to play football over Cricket.. so its gonna take time..!! IFA and Govt has to take drastic steps 1st..
So dnt post same thing multiple times..

Welbeck is talented and he has shown this year with Sunderland that given proper first team football action he can do wonders. His best performance came against Chelsea that too at Stamford Bridge. Read some news a few days back that SAF may be prepared to let him go for Henderson or Rodwell. Personally,I wouldnt want that as he is a academy product as well as a local lad. Even he himself commented that he is not sure about returning back to United. He will think and make a decision in the summer.

SAF has recently said Tom Cleverley , Welbeck , Macheda n Diouf will all return to squad..
He said Cleverley will be a top player n so will be Welbeck..

When Steve Bruce was pleading to sign him SAF has said Bruce has same chances of signing Welbeck as SAF hmself..

to be honest frend he will return to United.. but the fact is media blows the interviews in wrong direction many times.. he nevr said this directly..
n why he said that because he wants games n SAF has said Cleverley n Welbeck will get lot of games next season at Utd after his int.

I would not do any deal with Everton n Sunderland for Henderson n Rodwell resp which inludes Welbeck.. No chance..!!

I expect Diouf to be sold n Macheda ,Obertan n Bebe to go out on loan to an EPL side next season..

Some English fans have told me that British media always does this during the run in time to destabilize Utd camp so dnt take too much anti -Utd news..

Bro now since you have brought up the name of Bebe, what do you think of him ? Me honestly can't even find a single reason of buying him. He doesn't even look like a football player to me. He crosses balls without even looking who is in the box. Most of his crosses end up in Row Z of Old Trafford stands. God knows how he has managed to score 2 goals in his United career. To think of it we paid more for him than Tottenham did for Van der Vaart and SAF says there is no value in the market.

And to cap it up, SAF admits he didn't even watch Bebe play and this is the first time in his career he has done that.

AS far as Bebe. this is my insight analysis for u my frend..

1 transfer fee to Vit Gumerias was 4 M nt 7.4 M which media predicts..
3.4 M went to his agent Jorge Mendes who manages for Jose n Ronaldo n Nani.. since Real were after him too the price was a bit inflated..

2 VDV for 8 M wasnt offered to us but to Spurs.. Bayern n Utd were told to pay 18 M for him.. which is a no go for me.. bcz he cnt play more than 60 mins.. after that hes no good on field..

3. He has shown fashes of brilliance n rawness in Reserves matches n esp his volley goal which was an incredible technique and very rare for a 20 yr old to possess..

4. Hes more like a street player like Nani who came in from a 3rd Dvision club n needs time to adjust just like Nani took..

5. he needs a loan move to develop his game EPL way..

6. He was always a gamble and was suggested by Carlos Quieroz whom SAF trusts a lot..

7. even if 2-3 yrs from nw he dsnt make the cut he would still sell out for 6 odd M so it wnt be any major loss.. look at his wages they r i guess 12k a week compared to VDV's 70-80K a week..

8. Dnt compare Hernandez success with others.. his adaptation to EPL was more or less like a bonus or a miracle.. it took Modric full 1 season to get adjusted..

P.S. Bebe was never bought for this Season..

I wish i become a Football columnist 1 day..!!

hey dude thats the prob we entirely rely on our govt for doing sumthing nd dont believe that we shud do sumthing nd that is the big prob..what is the basis that an Mba cant do anything nd contribute or promote or help in improvement??..there r so many businessmen who do CSR nd are even investing their money in other sports with long term objective although some do it for tax evasion but some ppl do it genuinely so pls stop saying that only NGOs or govt is required to contribute..i hve seen 1 of puys who was actively promoting soccer thru his website nd other sources..it doesn't matter whether u played football in the past or not..what matters is the present desire for the game..stop blaiming the govt nd cribbing..regarding my post of posting it again it was due 2 a mistake cos as it was last post on pg.195 nd mistakenly i missed nd thought it didn't got post..sry for the mistake....thnx that i got a extremely positive response to this..now go ahead nd support epl nd other clubs cos our football will not get any support nd our team will get hammered by even teams ranked below us nd then u will say india ko to football khelna hi nahi ata..:cheerio:

dude, either you are not getting the point or you are not aware of ground realities. I bet all football fans here share the same feeling and we all want to see our country playing in world cup. it's not like after doing MBA we can start improving things at a single go. There is no shortage of talents in India, even in football. I have played with local chaps in my hometown and I know that with proper guidance they can do much better. But there are many other things that matter apart from having a talented player. As per FIFA standard there is only one football stadium in India(in chennai). In international matches our players hardly have any energy left in them after running for 60 mins. someone rightly said in this thread that India needs to play certain numbers of friendly matches every year. without that proper assessment of Indian players can't be done. Apart from that there are lot of issues to be resolved at the managerial level. These are the problems that can't be solved no matter how much you get involved at the niche level. I agree with the CSR thing and once we are at that level we can start funding this beautiful game. but w/o govt support not much can be done in this area. International fixtures and tours are something that can't be done alone with the help of CSR.

I don't think anyone over here has said that India ko football khelna nahi aata.

Bro,I hope you get the difference between an MBA and an MBA aspirant. Most people out here are aspirants who dream about getting into a B school, acquire skills and knowledge and then get a good job. This is a long and painstaking process which requires a lot of effort.Yes, we do like football and yes we know about the current plight of Indian football. We also know we can't keep blaming the government always. But,currently none of us have the finances nor the time or energy to do something about it. But, once we are settled in our life/in our careers we can definitely take some steps.Come up with plans for setting local academies, identify talent, arrange for investments etc etc. But,the govt also has a responsibility towards it, right ? Cricket didn't become so much popular just because of some private initiative. We have state cricket associations & Ranji trophy which go a long way in bringing up young talent.Simply put the government invests far more time and money in cricket than in football. This has to change in order to popularize football more in India.

Yaar U-14 and U-16 ke liye Coaches chahiye, infrastructure chahiye n god forbid if they get some serious injury kaha se funding karenge apni fitness ki yaar those kids.. its nt easy as it luks.. U-14 nad U-16 ke sport needs to be made more attractive..

Football is much more injury prone game than Cricket.. u need physios n other medicos for players development.. bcz 1 injury can stagnate or ruin the career.. whos gonna pay for it..

n rightly pointed we need world class stadium n football pitches..

Thats why i said Govt n IFA money spending is must at basic grassroot level for its development..

Bhai DNA ka advertisement dekh ke where they shw
Ind Vs Brazil in world cup 2022 dekh ke meri aankh me bhi aanso aa jaate hain ki kaash ye sapna pura ho jaaye.. miracles dnt happen in a day.. keep patience..

N why is it an issue if most footballing fans follow EPL , La Liga n Serie A.. bcz we love the game n we r nt racist wrt to game.. we love the beauty of game wherever it may be played in the best of manner..

but that dsnt men we dnt want our nation to excel as a footballing nation..

Listen to Bob Houghton he himself says untill unless govt does nything things wnt improve..

Well, seeing India in world cup is a big dream of mine too, but i cant see that happening anytime in near future
I would like to point out the football is the cheapest sport. All you need is a football, but to be a professional footballer one has to start from a very young age. Like in europe, children of age around 8 who are interested in football are usually enrolled in some football club, by the time he reaches 13-14 yrs, if he is any good, will start prioritizing football and will probably try to make a career in it for himself.
In africa poor people play football in a hope to overcome their poverty, and are motivated for the same by their families in the same hope.
And these two can't be the case in India, coz insistence on getting good marks, or to be a engineer/doctor/manager is very high in India for the first case to happen, and unfortunately poor people in India knew only one game - cricket.
And thats why I think its going to take a lot of time for India to establish itself as a big football playing country.

A good news for Gooners. Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg had shown his desire to come to Arsenal. The ball is now in Wenger's court now. I hope he brings Stekelenburg to emirates next season.

Dude there are have been rumours since January of many goalkeepers wanting a move to Arsenal but none of them has materialized. The fact is that Wenger has too much faith in Flappianksi and Schesny. He knows they will be fit in summer and he will be using them only. Nowadays I do not even pay attention to tranfer rumours. The only possible summer tranfer I think is going to happen is Fabregas to Barcelona for which I would not blame Cesc.

But i see him going to Utd most probably bcz Van Der Sar has recommended him as his replacement...:lookround::lookround:

Only 1 way he goes to Arsenal.. if SAF says No we dnt want u Steklenburg.. We r going for De Gea or Adler.. So find urself another CL club in EPL..

if Wenger pays the right amount for him then i don't think he is going to United. there had been rumours in the past but this time Steklenburg himself has said that he wants to join Arsenal.

he is a very good keeper so he will be a very good signing provided Wenger goes for him

Nahi hoga Fabregas to Barcelona untill unless Barca sells first.. they wont n cant pay 44 M.. they dnt have that much transfer budget n i think Arsenal would ask for a player plus cash deal..

probably Affelay + 30 M. but still they will have to sell Mascherano or 1 player to raise cash as Barca are skint after last summer spree..

So prepare for a long Fabregas transfer saga..!!

Inside story for u Barca have made a contact regarding Mario Goetze.. n Utd have kept his info n enquiry from Dortmund since 2008..

So Utd n Barca might fight it out for Goetze come summer..!!

I dnt read into transfers that much but i never found his quote saying this.. may be i m misinformed..
yest papers writing Sneijder saying come n get me plea to Utd but there was hardly any qute from him saying this..

So it all can be lazy journalism n we may never knw untill it appears on official site or the player holding the Club shirt in an int..lol
