Football Club -- Part Deux

@abhibelovedBro! Dont get angry. I am not on this forum to argue with fellow posters or to demean any player. You are right in saying that it does not matter how good or bad I think Lampard is. You are entitled to like and appreciate any player.As far as taking penalty is concerned,every team has one specialist penalty taker. In Chelsea,Lampard is the man. There is nothing wrong in taking penalties and increasing goal count. My only point was that in terms of impact,he lags behind many other midfielders. Drunk or not, I strongly believe that and I know many others do as well. As I said,we should agree to disagree without holding any grudges. Stay calm and happy. You do not need to be aggressive. Lampard will remain a superstar in England and I will continue to be a nobody in Bangalore. So stay cool.
See I am not offended just because you said he not the best but what you are saying is he is not even good enough. Common man are you serious? Every damn footballer or fan or who ever follow football will be agree to the fact that Lampard is a brilliant player.
Ok Gerrard is better than Lampard I would agree to this any day as he not only a player he is also a captain of a team and his influence to the team is way better than Lampard, no doubt about it but that doesn't make Lampard any less skillful. And he lags behind only 1 or 2 midfielders not many. Talking about impact he is the heart of Chelsea he runs the game most of the times, He is the most consistent player in Chelsea for over a decade. Buddy now tell me what else you want from a player. I am so sorry for being aggressive but I wont agree to your pointless statement, never in any life :mg:.

And I am not saying this because I am Chelsea fan but Lampard deserves what he is today. And not only Lampard, but I appreciate every player who is good even he is from Man Utd or Arsenal. So my friend you like it or not but Lampard is a best Midfielder :mg:
And sorry if I sounded aggressive.

KTBFFH!!
I put alarm to get up at 1.30 am for the game. But couldnt get up. Learnt my lesson

Never keep an alarm. Wait for the game , watch it and then sleep

Anyways Chelsea progressed and Torres scored Waiting for the Quarters draw !!!

KTBFFH !!

hahaha ............I jumped in to the debate only because You said he is way better than Cesc.

That is what irked me. I know Lampard is a Chelsea legend If not a Football legend.

Well in that case I'll still stick to my comment that he is better than cesc anyday .
And yes he is a Chelsea legend and Football legend as well.
@supreetkini

True, very true but then even xavi, iniesta plays in star studded barca & spanish teams respectively.... yet we recognize as two of the footballing greats, the fact that even with all the turmoil at chelsea frank lampard has managed to perform and keep his place in the side says it all...
Cesc Fabregas is currently the best player in his role. End of story. He can play as trequartista, deep lying playmaker, CAM, box-to-box MF or just plain good old CM. The only position I can not see him play is DM with a ball winning role (Sure to be better than half of current crop of PL DMs, though :P). His vision, drive and sheer on field intelligence is only matched by Xavi and, to some extent, Stevie G. Fat Frank is (was?) not in the same league as Cesc, Xavi and Stevie G. Same with Bale. Gareth Bale is glorified Walcott, there is no point classifying him as a MF. He started out as LB, was promoted to left wing role due to his speed and goal scoring ability, currently drifts all over the field, caring little about teamwork. His dribbling and overall technical skills are average. Not to forget his tendency to dive at minimal or no contact.

Cherrs !!!!!!!! Brilliantly put. It is just a shame that Cesc is not getting a chance to play in his usual position at Barca. I am sure after Xavi departs, the whole world will witness a genius at work. He just needs to be given the freedom on the pitch and then what follows is pure magic. At Arsenal,he was given that free role and more often than not he mesmerised me and millions of other gooners. I will not say anything else about Lampard now given that I do not want to continue the debate: (Cesc vs Lampard) because there is no comparison at all. But just wish Cesc achieves what he deserves and that too at Arsenal.
@conquerer1 You in Bangalore? Are you a member of Bangalore Gunners?

@supreetkini

No,at the moment I am not a member. But just today I planned with a friend of mine to watch the United-Arsenal game at bangalore Gunners. I came to know of this place a couple of weeks ago. will visit the place in a few days.

Are you a member? If yes,can you tell me the whole process to become a member.

Yes, no process as such to be a member. It is not an official fan club. Just a bunch of Arsenal loving people who joined together to form Bangalore Gunners.

I am from Mangalore, but whenever I am in Bangalore I go for the screenings, at Dugout Pub, Kormangala.
There's a screening tomorrow for the Swansea game!

Then I will go tomorrow. Are u coming?

@conquerer1 Yeah, I will be in town. I have couple of GDPI's on Sunday and Tuesday

@supreetkini

I guess, u r nt gonna watch the match then or r u?

@conquerer1 Will be watching! Not that 2 hours will make a big difference!

great....see u tomorrow......but what is ur good name? otherwise wont be able to identify u.

Quotes from THE best sports blog ever. Arseblog.

"Although I didn't see any of the Europa League action last night, I heartily endorse the idea of both Sp*rs and Chelsea going as far as possible in the competition. Hopefully they'll go all the way to the final and wherever it's held football holds its nose at the stink both teams make as the game erupts into on and off-field violence, culminating in a helicopter like Blue Thunder going into silent mode and spraying all the fans with Agent Orange and hippo piss while blasting Life is a Rollercoaster by Ronan Keating at top volume.
That song is so indescribably awful it was probably secretly written by Phil Collins. I don't care who wins it, once we get the rioting, shooting, the possible termination of John Terry as he pleads with fans who are so far gone they rip him limb from limb then use those limbs to beat Ashley Cole and Emmanuel Adebayor to a pulp. You see, you have to look at the bright side."
Other fans, especially Spuds, Chelsea and United - please stay away from this blog. You'd find it terribly offensive. Gunners - read your heart out.
