Football Club -- Part Deux

@conquerer1 Agreed! Too early the players were handed out bumper contracts. Wenger should have monitored the progress for one more year.
But again, if he hadn't taken that decision, fans would again be behind his back, if any of those 5 players were nearing the ends of their contracts!

I have no grudge against Ramsey. What I am saying is that Rosicky can do a lot better than him at the moment. It is not that we are comfortably winning the league so that we can experiment with Ramsey. We have a tough task ahead to secure top 4. We need players who can deliver at the moment and who are the best in our squad. Rosicky is a pass master and no doubt more accomplished than Ramsey in everything he does. He has got pace and creativity.If u can not admit that then I have nothing else to say.

@Kathiravan.J There's been a 10 day gap. Hope he has sufficiently recovered.If not Szczesny, then Mannone or Damian Martinez! (Loved to see him fly around like a helicopter and miss everything in the 7-5 Reading game! ) or Brek Shea, 19 year old Islington born Academy goalie! or 17 year old Macedonian hotshot Dejan Iliev!
I donno why AW didn't go for Lloris... I was sure he would come to Arsenal because of the French connection... 12 million for Lloris was a bargain then..!

also I read somewhere that Arsenal is having one of the largest wage bills in BPL with majority going to the players not playing in the first team. And also Arsene has the habit of playing guys at unusual positions.

It's because he always believes in the players he have in hand more than the players outside.
@conquerer1 Agree! If we need to go on the offensive right from the start, Rosicky has to start!

+1

Our wage bill is 145m pound,just 20m short of what Man U has. Now Manu pays huge wages to Rooney,RVP,ferdinand and Nani. I was surprised to know that till a few months ago,Welback was on merely 15k. That is how a club's wage will should be distributed.3-4 top players should be paid whatever they deserve. Average players or new kids should be on an average pay scale. This method serves two purposes:

The club can attract and retain top players in the world.

Average players are motivated to move to the next level to earn more.

What we do is we pay more or less same wages to everybody. Thus top players leave for other clubs and average players become stagnated because there is nothing to aspire for.I am yet to figure out how could Squillachi,Fabianski,denilson all were paid in excess of 50k. These players are difficult to move out for the very same reason.

@conquerer1 That's why its always better to buy a player with lower wage even if the transfer fee is high. This is what man utd always does. Where as wenger will always buy free agents and people in last 1 year contracts with astronomical wages and less transfer fee...

@conquerer1

Where does one find all these details bro. Especially the current wages of each player ?

Curious to see still how much is ManUtd in debt :splat:

@Budokai001

Man U debt is 360m pound. There is one magazine swiss ramble. One of the most trusted business magazines in the world. They consistently publisg reports regarding various club's finances.

Official - Wilshere is out for 3 weeks!

Hopefully we will see a midfield of Arteta/Ramsey - Cazorla - Rosicky!
http://news.arseblog.com/2013/03/wilshere-to-miss-three-weeks/

It was inevitable. We have such a wafer thin squad that we are forced to play our best players every single match. Cazorla and Wilshere have been playing almost all the games. The burn out will take its toll on Cazorla as well. Damn the AW's claim: "We have two qualideeeee player at each position." We could not beat Blackburn without Wilshere,Cazorla and Walcott. And is Diaby still in Arsenal's medical room?

Prediction time everyone:
Barcelona vs Milan
I think Barcelona 2-1 Milan!!

3-1!! Home Team

I think a hard fought 3-2 win for Barcelona. and Milan going through on aggregate. I say the second Milan goal will be like torres's in the previous season.

@conquerer1 We still have Coquelin, Diab...oh well!

1-1 or 0-0 draw... my money on 1-1... with Messi and Pazzini scoring...

Wondering the scene at camp nou if milan bag an early away goal!!...barca'll need 4 goals then
