Any football lover would say that the match was marred by a bad decision. Till that point it was a very good contest. And even though Real won deservedly, that tag of 'luck' will always remain on this game. The winners of such a titanic contest deserve better than that. So no. It wasn't just about United winning the match. There is more to football than just your team winning. Bad refereeing is a sad part of the game. And we need to move on from that now.
