Football Club -- Part Deux

ha ha ha!! 16 year old kid who will be developed and sent on loan and at the age of 22 or 23 he will ask for huge salary and he will be snapped up by City or Chelsea.
Sad but true.. Hope those Arab owners or someone buy Arsenal somehow soon !
@supreetkini One thing Wenger has done well before and not now is scouting. He used to get the best talent from Europe mostly. Though he missed Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic, he gets very good players. But now it's not happening. He has turned his attention to england kids which is not actually his strength. And he generally never goes to south america where he can lots of better players. With around 123 million cash, I hope he spend something this time.
@Budokai001 Never. Don't want the soul of the club to be sold to some rich obligarch. We don't want to become a Chelsea or a City or a PSG. The club is extremely well run.

Oh i thought Arsenal fans would be happy...NO ?
@Budokai001 What would it bring? Temporary success? Look at people talking about Chelsea's and City's titles 10 years down the line. Or even now. Everyone will tell you it was won thanks to the cash splurged by Roman/Sheikhs. We have been a self-sustainable club for over a century now, and I want it to remain that way. I want Arsenal's legacy to remain intact.

The policy we have is very good. Just that we need more money to give salary for those players who demand it. To get that money it's enough we start winning more. Otherwise, I don't want my club to be called as something buying silverware with money. Best run club in that way is Barcelona.
@Kathiravan.J Barcelona may have the best club model, but I despise them to the deepest core after the way they tapped up so many of our players, like we were some shopping center. Sandro Rosell is the biggest hypocrite in the world of football.
They talk so highly of ethics and stuff, and they bullshit over it.

I understand. But la masia academy is one of the best to groom players. We initially got Fabregas from there only. True they have looted many players from EPL easily with their money. But compared to City, Chelsea, it's nothing.
@Kathiravan.J Er..wait..let me drink a glass of water first...
We got Fabregas when he was literally rejected from their academy. It was in no way tapping up. Arsenal offered him a contract when Barca were not.
Over the years look at the players they have bought from us. van Bronkhorst, Petit, Overmars, Hleb, Henry, Fabregas, Song. There are a couple more to that list I guess.
Look at the way they tapped up all these players. Used the power of Spanish tabloids such as Marca to fuel stupid rumors, using their players to make comments in the press and luring them to Barca, they even used some bloke during a Villarreal semi-final in 05/06 to put a Barca shirt to Henry. And who can forget those dimwit Spanish footballers forcing a Barca jersey of Fabregas. Third rate bunch of filthy idiots!
@supreetkini I agree to many of your points. But don't you think leaving for money has got something to do with the players as well. I know they emotionally tripped Fabregas. But Song is ridiculous. He went there and told it's a dream come true for him. It was wenger who converted a useless guy into a top rated DM by giving so many chances. But he left. I think even if it's not Barca, he would have joined some other club as well. Media power is definitely something these Spanish clubs use a lot to lure players. I really hate that unethical behaviour. True that!!!

But the real question is
"Can you live ur whole life without seeing Arsenal lifting a trophy?" :splat:

@Budokai001 Lifetime? Don't exaggarate a 8 year trophy drought into a lifetime of trophylessness. We have gone longer without trophies in the past, just like other clubs in the world.

Sincere Apologies for saying that bro !

Arsenal is a well run club and u can say almost every one respects that club even though they mock their trophy drought. But if you wanna get the good players, you need to pay a decent salary. There is no point in saying if they are available at the right price. Sad but true. Even Barcelona, for all the fabled academy, they had samuel eto'o when they won in 2009 who is not a product and whom they bought and David Villa in 2011.

BTW found this on the net. Interesting isn't it ;)

some past memories....there is only one ronaldo "EL PHENOMENO" i.e the phenomenon....the best ever..must watch

P.S: I was unable to see Pele or Maradona play, but i had seen Ronaldo Luis "The Phenomenon" and never seen any one like him....the best striker in the world...
