No mate fortunate is wrong word, getting back from 3-1 down is not fortunate, getting back from man down goal down with no central def in the home of worlds best team is not done only with luck. beating a team in their own backyard in cl finals is not fortunate....
Ok bro I won't say you were fortunate...Ill say the other team was unfortunate not to convert the chances they had...but U will have to accept a fact at half time in last years champions league Chelsea were thoroughly outplayed by Bayern....My point is not that teams cant beat Bayern & Barca, my point is a fair bit of fortune is involved...these teams have so much quality that its hard to see them being out played and that is why I say on the current form Bayern & Barca are the best teams in CL without a shadow of a doubt.
@shakysanky yes the teams other than english are showing far superior quality these days..Though i dont know why people are writing off ManU so early? They are almost on equal footing with RMA after first leg( even more) .Regarding chelsea win last year..Well yes winning on penalties did took off some shine of their legacy..But they were the Champions and thoroughly deserved the crown more than any other team..BM vs Barca would be mouth watering as both teams excel on possesion game..Though i too feel RMA/MUtd can stop them before final as both teams consist of some gamechangers which Arsenal surely lack after RVp exit.
hmm we were fortunate okay!!how can you justify this, we played against Barcelona with 10 men and went down by 2-0 then made a comeback. Buddy this isn't called fortunate, this is called making most of the opportunity and showing true character. And against Bayern also we got only 1 corner and we made it count. Sure they are the best team in the world and accept the fact that we beat them. Yes we were bit lucky also but you can't say we were only fortunate to reach there.KTBFFH!!
I am not writing anyone off, I just said based on the quality of these teams are the best in CL. and bro, I am the last person to write of Manchester United or for that matter put down chelsea's victory last year.....I for one was cheering them on during the final. Any team winning champions league is not a fluke, all I said was they had the fortune on their side, which everyone would agree is a factor even for the likes of Bayern and barca, even considering their class.

let me relate your point.
A student was fortunate to score 100%ile. Fortune is always in the favor of those who works hard, so call it whatever you want but we are the Champions of the Europe. Period!
UEFA Champions League ! You beauty! With fixtures like Manu - Madrid, AC Milan - Barca, Arsenal - Bayern in the Pre Quarters, I just wonder how the semi's are gonna turn out... Good teams are gonna be out even before the quarters!
There's no point in arguing whether Chelsea deserved their Champions League crown or no! Maybe they had fortune, but they dug deep as well. 3-1 down from the first leg at Napoli, they won 4-1 at home, and then went on to conquer Barcelona. Yes, they sucked offensively, but they defended their hearts out. Played to their strengths, which was plying Didier Drogba upfront to hassle the Barca defenders. Barca should have won the second leg by around 10 goals, after Chelsea were down to 10, but it is no mean feat to defend with 10 men, without central defenders at the Nou Camp. I am an Arsenal fan, and Chelsea were the worst team to the win the CL probably, but you cannot take it away from them. They deserved every bit of luck they got!
I think People tend to forget the bad luck we had to the point when we finally had some luck going our way.... in 04-05 we beat barca n bayern b4 going down to ghost goal from garcia... then we lost two penalty shoot outs once in semis and once in finals.... nd then came Tom Henry ovrebo...
@supreetkini worst team to win Cl????? May be in ur view we are... but the fact remains the only team from london to win Cl is Chelsea...
@chelseaboy Er, dude, it is not my opinion. It is the general consensus. And, I didn't say they are the worst. I said probably they are the worst. Please don't turn this into an Arsenal vs Chelsea battle. I was just saying Chelsea deserved all the luck they had last season in winning the UCL.

May be it is a general consensus for you(Arsenal fans) :P. But still fact remain the same as mentioned by @chelseaboy :P.
Ok let not turn it into Chelsea vs Arsenal. And we would really pleased to see Arsenal in next round, hope they beat Bayern in second leg(Well I don't hate Arsenal, sometimes :mg:)
I guess with rise of teams like Man City, Tottenham and Everton in the BPL , Both Arsenal and Chelsea are feeling the heat ... Tottenham especially has been making life tough for the top 4, with barely missing out the champions league spot!
@abhibeloved LOL! Please don't make a fool of yourself here. Chelsea were a club with no history, before a rich sugar daddy came along and started pouring money on them. Arsenal are always considered the capital's premier club, and not Chelsea/West Ham/Tottenham. A proud history of over 125 years, with 87 continuous years in the top flight, 13 league titles, 10 FA cups etc. (Built over a century of work, and not by Russian oil money) A 500 million cheque, and a Champions League title does not entitle Chelsea to being the premier club in London! Not in a million years! Peace!

Haha you have nothing else to say except your history :P. wait a min actually Arsenal is a history :P. When was the last time when they won any trophy by the way :mg:. May be 7-8 years ago, oh yeah!! you are right it is a history :mg:.
@supreetkini Oh man every other team needs money, U gunners nd some other fans r so jealous nd dejected dat finally u had some competition even a tortotoise will win a one man race!!!
@Arun_SubhashArsenal are facing an extremely tough phase at the moment. There seems to be a lot of problems in the team, positionally as well as in continuity. Having sold players like Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy, van Cunty etc has taken its toll, and unless this squad sticks around for a long time, and by long I mean 2-3 years, silverware could prove to be ever elusive.
Sp*rs have outspent Arsenal every year, in the last decade, and yet fail to finish above Arsenal. They have a great squad, but lack continuity, not only with players, but managers as well.
Chelsea have a massive squad, and one that is ultrafit. They have played like a gazillion matches this season, yet are there or thereabouts. Can't see them finishing below 3rd.
I can see Everton fizzle out eventually, but they have a very industrious squad as well. Moyes really knows how to get the best out of each player. Look at Baines, Jagielka, Fellaini, Piennar. None are world beaters, but as a team they are a solid unit!
What you said about Spurs is true... But they too have players like Defoe who have been with the team for so long! And players like Bale (6th year at spurs) do bring a lot more pace in the wings... Having said that spurs is 4 points above Arsenal.. This season could be the one they finish above Arsenal
@abhibeloved@chelseaboy To call yourselves as the Premier club in the capital requires some standing. Just because Chelsea have had a successful decade, albeit with a lot of managers and needless spending, doesn't exactly entitle them to that distinction.
Coming to the 8 year thing, I agree it is an extremely tough situation for the club. Especially, in the modern era, where everything is judged in terms of trophies. Arsenal have moved stadiums, a 560 million pound investment in itself, and that is a mammoth sum. It will be few more years till Arsenal can balance out the cheques and be competitive again. Yet, Arsene Wenger has kept the club competitive, despite having to deal with traitors like Cole, van Cunty and Nasri. A CL Final, 2 CL semi's, 2 LC Finals, and a couple of close PL finishes. (We just failed to cross the finishing line when it mattered the most. )
And, while you are talking about trophy droughts, may I remind you that even clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United have gone decades without silverware! Luck runs round in circles, guys! This is football!
Finally, jealous? Please, I am not a glory hunter. I don't support Arsenal for the trophies, I support them despite the trophies. If you can spot the difference, then good for you, if you can't, go watch cricket!
@supreetkini Every club has some1 to take them to next. In the year 1919 even when Arsenal finished 5th, they were promoted to 1st division. Many ppl revolted at that time. Following that Arsenal bought 3 to 4 star players and then started building the squad. When u compare that with what Chelsea has done in 2004, more or less its same. U have to spend money to build a good squad when u 1st take over a club then slowly u start changing the academy and all. Chelsea has good squad now and with FFP coming into picture from next season, i think will survive it easily as we have good sponsor and won a lot of money from last year Championship. On the other hand Arsenal will start spending now as they are in immense pressure to win something. Arsenal is changing, it won't be long when u ppl will start spending huge.
@Arun_Subhash Wenger is a master at finishing above Sp*rs Remember 2005/2005. We pipped them to 4th spot on the final day, and last season we made a mockery of their 10 point lead in Feb, to eventually finish 3rd! Wenger will work his 4th place magic again!
@supreetkini LOL.... U mention about past glories n then say u r no glory hunter!!!! why??? coz u cant justify 8 yeras of trophy drought.... new stadium??? leave that excuse the thing is no one wants to play for arsenal anymore...
Nd just coz sm1 supports man city, chelsea or psg does not mean he is a glory hunter or will not support his club through tuff times.... It tooku like 100 years of history to be a gunner???? Well it took me one Wayne bridge goal against u to be a Blue....
