Their midfeild had Maniche,deco,costinha nd valente defence had the likes of carvalho n ferraia... not to forget the special one!!!

@chelseaboy yes they were a good team but still that was surprising for me...and frankly how many of the football analysts have really given Porto a real chance at that time?Ok they had won UEfa cup previous year but still...Infact that final lineup of Porto vs Monaco was altogether surprising..but then sports is filled with glorious uncertainities..especially year 2004 in football..both Porto and greece faded after that !

@chelseaboy My meaning of "Faded" means they never were able to repeat that glory or even came close to it for the last 9 years in that tournament..I have been following Champions league from last 12 years..And If i remember it correctly..Porto never reach any final..and leave alone Final even semi final of that tournament again..( I am not sure but i doubt they havent even reach the quarterfinals of that tournament again!)..this is real "faded" for me!!!..well parameters for every fan are different so we cant discuss the issue for long..

@chelsea1712 Well every time Arsenal loses this thought crosses every mind..But then not for none Arsenal is known as the most financially efficient run club..They make full use of the resources and they were always like that..May be some arab sheikh can help them..Even City immediately win Premier league due to the fin help from new owners..time for Arsenal!
Well they don't need Arab sheiks when they have Russia's richest man. Wenger's philosophy is like " We don't buy superstars but we make them". He moulds young players so that they become one of the leading footballers but as soon as they do become one they move to bigger clubs

@Proziumz Shouldnt winning trophies be the primary objective? They are a well run club and are well placed when FFP rules kick in. But at the end of the day, the fans want the team to win nah?

@chelsea1712 Thats what i advocate.."time for arsenal" to open the pockets and spend in good players..Winning trophies and playing good are the primary objectives of any team and Arsenal seems to have forgotten the former.
