Football Club -- Part Deux

With a win for Wigan, Reading and a draw for Southampton, I think the relegation battle is hotting up. I think QPR are in grave danger here. Right now, I feel QPR, Reading and Aston Villa will be the unlucky ones come May. But like Wigan last year, anything can happen.

The question is "will Newcastle join the relegation battle too if their injuries continue?"

PS: Really hope QPR win today and make the relegation battle better!

RVP case was not about money. we offered him 135k but he wanted us to spend a lot on players and make few other changes. No thanks. we are not chelsea/RM where players run the show rather than the manager. i don't begrudge RVP though. untill 2014 we can't afford to spend big and he couldn't wait till then. he did what is good for him.regarding Walcott if he asks more than 100k i prefer to wish him luck to play somewhere else. unlike RVP he is very young. he can play along with the British Core who all signed new long term deals recently and can go on to be a legend at the club. Henry started at Arsenal at the same age. If walcott prefers 25k/week more instead of all that then so be it. regarding media questioning our ambition -- it is very clear we took a gamble on a new stadium and we can't spend till 2014. thats just 1.5 years away. how tough is it for media to understand that ??
Sir but media is voicing general opinion only. I think it was 2005 when Arsenal won FA cup. Its been a long period since then. U may be a club with profit, u may produce world class talent and ur style may produce no matter how much beautiful football but the top most thing that any supporter may want from its club r cups and titles. Arsenal needs to retain as well as buy world class talent. Failure to which may lead to questions being asked about ambition as well as policy

In 2005, Arsenal made a gamble. the gamble is we will build a new stadium and won't spend much till 2014(because we are spending 250m+ on the stadium) after which we will have a lot more money to spend. Wenger thought he can still bring 2-3 titles in that 10 years without spending anything. that got backfired because of Chelsea and ManCity. there is nothing to do except wait till 2014 and make sure we are in top 4 till then. which is what wenger is delivering on.

Real Arsenal fans are ok with waiting till 2014 to spend because in return we have got a swanky new awesome stadium which is among the best in the world. i guess only old trafford and wembley has more capacity than Emirates in UK. we want trophies too. but we are ok with waiting till 2014 if it means we can add an awesome stadium and high revs to our club repertoire.

If media understands this they won't write that much crap about arsenal like they generally do.

But some statements from Arsenal Management suggests that they have given Wenger significant kitty, still he's not bringing in big names....is it that it has become his nature of sorts to buy only players that come cheap and develop them rather than buying established player?

Arsene is just taking the beating for the board. he is not stupid. he didn't sign Alonso because Pool asked 17 and we would only offer 15. if he had all the money i am sure wenger would spend 2 more million for alonso. same with Arshavin. he was signed in the last few mins of Jan transfer window because throughout Jan Zenit were asking 17 and wenger said he only has 15 although we were very close to missing on the 4th place and we only got into top4 because of the heroics of Arshavin. He only has 15 m to spend every year. nothing more.

Wenger was one of the biggest proponents of the Stadium move. he wanted to build a legacy at Arsenal. he assured the board that he can sustain and win 2-3 titles in the next decade even without spending. That backfired. Thats why he takes all the blame on himself because it was his dream tooo to give Arsenal a swanky stadium and turn it into a big club and be part of it's legacy. it is a small miracle to build a stadium and at the same time make sure the club is on top.

Nobody tells all this and hence i can understand fans of other clubs saying we lack ambition. but it is very easy to infer this if you follow arsenal finances and the drama that went between wenger, board and David Dein before Dein left. Media should infer such things and i guess they do. they write that we are in crisis because that is what sells.

Sir why is there so much anti Wenger sentiments nowadays? According to me apart from SAF he's the only manager who has served a particular club so long....and he deserves the same respect (if not more) as SAF...... with such young and immature squad he's been doing which many can't do with much more established and experienced squad..... and he rarely had any big name in his squad

Chelseaaaaa........ what a victory it was.... Lampard is a legend and a match winner.. Getting a win at Goodison Park is just amazing... Man Utd we r waiting for u to slip 😃

Frank Lampard reacts after the game: "It was very hard. This is always one of the most difficult games of the season. We got a tanking here last year and we had to stand up for ourselves. We went 1-0 down but after half an hour we started getting into the game. Once we got a foothold we got a goal at a good time. It was always going to be very close and we did ride our luck at times. We have to keep believing this season - there is a long way to go. We can only win our games then rely on other things.
"We haven't been talking [about a new contract] in the last couple of weeks and I'm am just concentrating on playing. Playing games gives me enough satisfaction then what will be will be."

Just sign him up R.A.
Sky Sports have just reported that Chelsea are reportedly meeting with representatives of Newcastle to discuss the potential transfer of Demba Ba. Ba, as is widely known, has a release clause in his contract of Ł7.5m.

Lamparddddddd my hero ™Ľ

Finally we won at goodison park .
Though Everton was good in starting but then we snatched the win from them :clap:
I hope cech is alright :(. heard he will be out for 3 weeks.

Good things from the match, It was last match of the year and we won. Lampard scores again and shows his worth. We are the most goal scoring team in England this year with 137 goals and 3rd in Europe after Barcelona and Real Madrid. And they said we park the bus :mg:. Mata has most assists 27 (club+country) in 2012 after Ozil. And Hazard is in 7th place with 22 assists.

Above all, Benitez is doing a great job :clap:

And Roman please don't let Lampard go :(.

KTBFFH!!

@abhibeloved

Good win for Chelsea. Specially after trailing in initial minutes of the game.

Stiff challenge for City to keep up the 2nd spot (Since 1st spot looks a distant dream as of now atleast) .
@deedeedudu

As a citizen .. yeah Eagerly waiting for them to slip.

But going by the current form.. not sure if we will cash in on that

Now both teams want Man Utd to lose some match and slip down. And we'll come real close to you if we win our pending match.
Heard Nasri got red card, is it?? Why??
