After M for Messi the last time it is M for Man Utd this time on offer for Kolkata football lovers. Really happy to see such big names coming to the country, I am sure this will do a world of GOOD to Indian football...the 150000 cap Salt Lake stadium would be raring to host such hi-profile game

Manchester United have confirmed they have "agreed terms'' for the transfer of Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund. The deal is subject to a medical and work permit.
Hope he makes it to the category of Top signings (And not Flop signings)..Had been really good for Borusia, He seems to be Ozil from Japan,
Manchester United have now taken a firm stance in their pursuit of the Tottenham's Croatian playmaker Luca Modric and Everton's Left back Leighton Baines, Nice targets, but would have too loosen the strings of the purse.

I suppose every Man Utd fan would be desperately hoping for those two signings, just a bit part review of these signing plus Kagawa signing-
Kagawa- Most probably he will get the number 9 left vacant after Berba departure. He will in all probablity play behind Welbeck and Rooney in the hole and as seen in Bundesliga he thrives in that role. He is good in creating something out of nothing, which btw United lacked severely this season and (which ultimately cost them the Title) and scores some great goals too. All in all looks like great signing ,the only problem he has to face is to adapt to physical side of BPL and has to gain some muscles too.
Modric- SAF has for long been an admirer of Modric and even said he was the player of BPL for season 10-11. Last year Tottenham did not let him leave against his wishes. This season however things have changed after they failed to qualify for CL. Signing of Hazard and most probably Hulk has definitely benefitted united in their pursuit. The signing will definitely cost united 30-35 mil pounds and willl play where Scholesy plays only in a more advanced role. He has great stamina and work rate and is not reluctant to go deep and defend when needed. So if the transfer happens, it will be a great signing for United. Fingers crossed.
Baines- Will cost around 10-15 mil pounds and seems like he wants the transfer. Lack of CL experience must be hurting a player of his caliber and with Everton unlikely to win any trophies, the transfer will happen in all probability. SAF staunchly defended his stand in captain Evra last season but like most fans he knows he was extremely poor defensively and was not spectacular offensively also although he did muster some 2-3 assists. SAF will do good to make some money while he still can on Evra, we have a cover for Baines in case he gets injured in form of Grey. Baines is very good defensively and has great positioning sense ,he is a great free kick specialist too and will definitely chip in with some goals. so please Fergie sign him up :)
Nani looks on his way out and SAF will also want to cash on him. Kagawa can playon wings too and will deputise in case of injury to Valencia and Young.

Leighton Baines, I see will come for somewhere in the range of 9 to 12 million. While, Luka Modric, is definitely not going for 40 Million this time! Tottenham doesn't even have a Champions League place this time. Plus they know that he is definitely moving out this time, so they'll try to squeeze in whatever they can, in order to get good strikers and replacements for the next season.

Both the acquisitions would do them a world of good, Man U must get them to be in the Hunt or they may fall far behind their neighbors and Chelsea. Also with Berba and Owen leaving I guess a forward is also must, but only after the Midfield and defensive woes are solved

You know what, had Torres joined Manchester United instead of Chelsea, he would have done wonders with the current set of players there.
What he was with us in Anfield, he would have continued to be the same - A GOAL MACHINE!
Alas, his playing style didn't suit Chelsea's game play initially. Now I think Roberto DeMatteo is doing too good to unite everything Chelsea has got.

Luka modric to old trafford for a fee of 26m pounds
26m for Luka Modric Just a year earlier Chelsea were prepared to pay 40M for him
Wondering why they didnt go for him this time imho modric was more important for Chelsea than Hazard.. I somehow feel that the capture of Hazard may do more harm at Stamford Bridge than good... Also read that Chelsea have bid for Felliani .....

As i said earlier it seems tottenham are holding out for 35m pounds for modric.... as usual cheepo daniel levy will try to extract as much money as possible:shock:....
also in other news Man Utd have agreed to a 4m pound deal to sign teenage sensation Nick Powell from crewe..... supposedly as a replacement for the departing paul pogba
In other news.. reports suggest that RVP has met with Juventus legend Pavel Nedved last week to discuss a move to the Italian champions.. dats a big blow for us
Another hot rumour doing rounds is that Arsenal andZenit St Petersburg have begun talks over the permanent transfer of the Gunners midfielder Arshavin. Arsenal are also after the talented Russian mid fielder Dzagoev who scored the 2 goals against Czech last week...
i just hope Giroud wont be another Chamakh...RVP will leave i guess...thats why we've bought Giroud and Poldi!!!
yes I hope he is better than Chamakh... wanted to see him in action yesterday, but he didnt get a chance ... we need 2 more signings IMO .. a Right back and a defensive mid fielder ...
Harry Redknapp leaves Tottenham Hotspur manager's job
I wonder how this affects spurs bid next year..players like Bale, Modric definitely off it seems
I had a talk yesterday with a friend who stays very close to White Hart Lane, and he told me that there are hot chances that Redknapp is leaving soon. And the news came just hours later.
He also told me, that Redknapp's inability to retain players like Bale and Modric was a big reason. Also, on the contrary he said that Don Levy wanted 40 million for Modric, which was offered just an year ago by Chelsea. But HR didn't sell him then. This was a huge reason for the friction that got created between them.
I feel pity for HR as he built this team with so much love and care! When he came and joined Spurs, they were comfortably placed in the relegation zone mid-season. He built this club to become one of the best again in Europe!
All I can say is, Redknapp will do wonders wherever he goes!
Harry Redknapp leaves Tottenham Hotspur manager's job
sad to see him leave :-(
Roberto Di Matteo appointed full time manager of Chelsea on a 2-year Contract.
Just wondering if he is the right man for the job... although he did wonders last season as a caretaker manager.. just doubt his credentials to lead Chelsea full time ... given that the likes of Capello and now Redknapp are available in the market.... I guess its more of a stop gap arrangement with Roman looking to lure Pep next season to Stamford Bridge ...
