Before MATCH : Bale: "Tottenham will win because they are a better team than Chelsea." lol!
Keep talking we are into the final...hell yeah 5-1 !!
Although i would strike out the controversial 2nd goal....still spurs were outplayed
KTBFFH !
ROFL. Spurs were given a pasting. Didier was MOTM but I believe Juan Mata was the most instrumental player - 3 goals were directly from his passes beyond the defence. More passes like this against Barca and Chelsea will be on their way to another final
PS: Did anybody notice Gallas - Drogba just left him to pieces on many occasions. By the end Gallas just gave up - he left malouda to cross all by himself (even though malouda spoiled it). Cmon where's the pride, Gallas?:nono:

KTBFFH!!!
i think Spurs slowed down after the 2nd "controversial" goal and their hopes were shattered by ramires show of frustration from Mr. Parker after the kick from Mikel :sneaky:
did anyone notice the Spurs supporters were leaving Wembley in the 80th minute only
my man of the game is Mata, however loved the way lampard scored in the free-kick
Ashley Young dived. The referee had a clear unobstucted view. The match commentator immediate comment was that shley is going to get a card. Later the commentator said Young has conned the referee
Ryan Taylor : Ashley Young is an absolute DISGRACE. He's the biggest cheat on the league. His antics are a joke...
when asked directly whether the winger might be seen as someone who goes down too easily
Alex Ferguson:"I have never seen that in him. It is not an habitual thing with him. He was brought down. He just made the most of it. "But he definitely brought him down. There was contact. He has bought the fact that Ashley jinked inside him. "He has gone down quite easily but it was a penalty. He was definitely brought down."
Double standards when it comes to their players, Fergie!
Ashley Young should really go for the olympics !! He can win Gold for Diving !
not a barca fan, but hoping barca smash chelsea, so as to wipe that silly grin from di matteo's face (after chelsea scored d 5th)..spurs season is going down coz of harry's interest in the england job. :nono: P.S - Did ya'all see carroll score the winner for LFC, he just paid off 2 mil from his transfer budget with that one

Barca may defeat chelsea but there's no way they will smash chelsea like chelsea smashed spurs - chelsea are too good for that. It will be a tight match like last time around with chelsea deploying more or less the same tactics. Lets c how it pans out. Not long to wait

Last time, Chelsea had the special one to play mind games with barca , though, with david luiz out of the team, what you say could turn out to be true, cahill is a much better CB and not error prone.

It was not the special one; it was Guus Hiddink.:) And his tactics were spot on.

If by tactics you mean 9 men in front of goal then that's not a very great strategy is it ?? it doesnt leave you any scope to score, except counter-attacks and you inevitably need to score if you want to progress on aggregate....

methinks the best chance that chelsea have is to stick drogba up top, and have runners from midfield support on the counter (ramires/meireles). they will not get ball possession vs barca, so lampard will have to pick out his passes..the moment they lose possession, have 9 men behind the ball at all time. it will not lead to an exciting match, but not all is fair in love and football!!

That is the best strategy against Barca. You cannot match Barca in playing their brand of football. Counter-attacking style is the best style against them and Guus Hiddink devised the strategy to perfection. It is just that Chelsea and esp Drogba missed some absolute sitters and the ref denied some blatant penalties. Infact in the entire 2nd leg Chelsea had way more shots on target then Barca (Barca only had 1) even though Barca had so much more possession. So I think that strategy is pretty sound against Barca. But the question is do Chelsea still have the legs for it?

If you see how Man utd beat barca in 2008 semis or inter did it, it was more of a team game.... you cant man-mark any one single player... any player on their own can cause havoc, barca loves to press from the front so chelsea need to defend as a team...and defend from drogba down...
also i believe if chelsea play torres and struddige in a 4-3-3 formation it will help them... i believe barca's weakness are in their full-back position's ... so if the opposing team attacks from there abidal and alves wont be able to bomb up the pitch, but again considering the quality barca has if chelsea dosnt take any lead @ stamford bridge then they will have no chance... barca have been poor away from home this season but at nou camp they are simply untouchables
Very Harsh on Wenger..but then he has no credible achievements off late to boast of either!!
Its a bit harsh; but disrespect and excessive ranting has become a habit for Wenger. Whether its domestic or Europe, everytime they lose a match they are expected to win; he shows disrespect by fighting with opposite manager, not shaking hands at the end of the match or persistently ranting at the ref.
In the Wigan game also, he kept on ranting to the ref about time wasting by Wigan players. Cmon Wenger, grow up!!! All teams in the lead try to run down the clock. A manager of a big club should not lose his composure due to this and should show respect to the manager of the opposite team that has claimed a deserved victory
